    A sport tyre group test would be great! Dunlop-Pirelli-Michellin-Bridgestone
    It would be of an enormous aid for a buying guide orientation.
    Cheers!

    @mcn how come you didn't record the sports tire shootout? I saw the sports touring shootout.

    Wish you guys would have info and pictures on cold tire pressures and tire/tyre wear after a few sessions on the track! Great video

    Pretty sure, while its a road tire, it's a performance road/track tire and not intended for cold and wet conditions. That's why the T30 and PR4 exist, for example. The S21 exists to compete with the Dunlop Q3.

    iv yet tl watch ANY review from mcn where they don't have a good word to say about what ever they are reviewing which if I'm honest makes me a bit suspicious as everything has some negatives yet we never hear of them from mcn!! seem like their just trying to keep sponsors happy to me

    • @swish1onu
      @swish1onu Před 8 lety

      +therealmrcheese ... the reviewer did mention the tire does overheat when using them on the liter bikes after 5 or 6 laps... and slides a bit... but hey, even the Q3's have that issue... So the reality is.. modern tires are all going to be pretty damn good. Bikes raced in the late 80's and early 90's were using shittier tires than any street tire we have out... so you really can't go wrong pricking up S20, S20 evo, and now the S21's...

    So these tyres ARE good on a 600??

    • @PistonSlap
      @PistonSlap Před 8 lety +1

      +Darren Homewood I have the S20 EVO on my 2013 636 and took them to a track day to see how they held up. I rode C grope as it was my first time and only hade them slip one time on me. IT was my fault as I was full lean dragging knee and pinned the throttle coming out of the corner (instead of a nice smooth roll on) the Rear stepped out a bit and was predictable. I was running a cold pressure of 32 psi and ambient temps were around 58-59 *f. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. My experience with the old S20 I would get around 5200 miles out of them. As for the 20 EVO and 21 It should be 20-30% better mileage.

      +Piston Slap 5200 miles :O? I barely got 4000km (ca. 2700 miles) on the exact same bike. To be fair, those miles were pretty much 90% twisty roads.

      @1982pride Před 8 lety

      +Schleberger I'm not hugely bothered about mileage more their all round ability over in the uk, so warming up quick, working with cold and hot temps, and if I get caught in the rain I don't wanna look like bambi on ice. Maybe the odd track day but I'm a new rider still so I'm not shredding the sidewalls just yet

      @Ozmeister666 Před 8 lety +1

      Darren Homewood Im currently on Metzler M5 because i got them for cheap, and they work pretty well, but the S20 (which my bike came with) are the better tyre hands down, pretty sure a Pirelli Angel GT (a sport-touring tyre) would be enough for you, they warm up instantly, work great in the rain (ive even rode them in swiss winter) and they even survived an early spring track day. In summer with a heavy wrist they will overheat and slide tough, but if youre a new rider I dont think youll reach that Point yet.

      +Schleberger I wish my commute had twistys. sadly I travel in a straight line 8 miles east and 13 north. I can't wait to see what I get out of the S20 EVO. So far it looks good.
