    No matter what happens, the ending will still be beautiful. If the operation is successful, I'd be happy for Day. If it won't work, I know that Mhok will help him be happy and accept his condition. But ngl, it would be too harsh for Day. Going through acceptance again after getting your hopes up and still failing😭 But I trust P'Aof that he will give these amazing characters, especially MhokDay, a happy ending they deserve.

    It's no stretch to include a dialogue between Day and his mother where he explains everything Mhok means to him and what an incredible journey it is. Mhok is the only one who has made him live as if he had sight, and even better, he has been able to share with his old friends, he was able to declare his love to someone and overcome disappointment, he was able to laugh. again. , play again, live, on his trip he was able to have his last days with some view, attending the wedding, dancing, loving and being loved in so many ways, forgiving, being free, being happy, sightseeing and even seeing the best . . And the last most beautiful image.

    This episode really got me feeling a rollercoaster of emotions. First, the mom: as someone who was raised by parents that have the same mindset as her, this really hit home because the infantalization even when I'm already a grown adult (just because I'm autistic) is REAL. Second, MARK: all of them really acted their asses off in this episode especially Mark! When I first got to know that Mark will be playing Night, I was curious on how he will be able to portray this type of character but he really blew my expectations. His performance in this episode was phenomenal somebody give that man an award! And seaking of Night, I was gooped and gagged when he said "that's my child" like arghhhhhh. Third, I love the direction their relationship took despite the situation. PuenTalay (Vice Versa) used to be my fave on-screen couple and I thought no one could top that but now here they are, JimmySea giving us another perfect on-screen couple. Lastly, I am SO SCARED of ep 11. I have a feeling that it will not work as well.

    While I was watching the episode I also had this feeling that something bad was going to happen, but in the end we only got some angst and a lot of cute moments lol, it was so good!
    btw when Day's mom is talking about Mhok's salary here 25:43, I think she's talking about them being in a relationship. I think her point is that Mhok has to be a financially stable person to take care of Day, considering they will live together someday. But she doesn't even think that Day can also find a job and be financially independent, she doesn't do any kind of research into his condition and that stresses me out lol
    I'm already sad thinking about episode 11, Day's transplant will definitely go wrong (for obvious reasons) and this will just be another trauma on Day's list 😭I'm not ready for the heavy angst that will come before the happy ending (mhokday WILL get through this and live happily or we'll be suing p'aof)
    love your reactions, can't wait for next week! 💞

    I agree with you Freddie about not having cornea transplant be part of story. At the same time, I’d love a scene where Day sees Mhok’s handsome face clearly for first time, even if it would be a predictable way to end things. Never seeing the people you love again would just be too tragic.

    • @TrineMortensen
      @TrineMortensen Před 7 měsíci

      If the transplant is a success long enough for him to see Mhok's face then I will be ok.. I don't know if it will fail right away, but I think it will after some time

      @@TrineMortensen i think if the story has Day happy and living a full life, i wont be too sad if he doesn’t regain his sight, but i would rather he not see darkness for the rest of his life. I rather he see the faces of those important to him again; that he see the look in Mhok’s eyes, the sky, the flowers he loves, etc.

    29:01 Even Mohk and Porjai understand the point of 'Taking care of you' that Day's mom said.It's not just about bcoz he can't see anything but there's a lot of things around to do for take care of someone.If Mohk has a good job and take care of himself first, then Day.I think the mom will see more posibility of their relationship.I hope Day understand his mom too that she concern for a reason.Bcoz she loves him so much ❤

    • @neoporticulis
      @neoporticulis Před 7 měsíci +1

      Yes, I do get that. But I also think bullying her son into getting a caretaker by disallowing him from even having contact with anyone or access to the internet, purely to pressure him, given that he relies heavily on technology to make up for his disability, proves that she's not capable of taking care of him beyond the financial aspect. Her response is to throw money at the problem or demand that Night do the job of caring for Day, a task that she also passed to Day in the past in terms of caring for Night. Parenting is her job. I understand she's a single mom, but she's clearly not struggling to make ends meet, and could honestly have made sacrifices career-wise to care for her kids. She chose not to. Had she gotten her way, Day's last moments with what remained of his vision might very well have been the hazy image of his room since Mohk would probably have clocked off by then. And she would have been all apologetic whilst hoping for a miracle to make it all better. She makes the softest expressions of motherly tenderness while speaking words of a bully and a tyrant. Honestly, would Night and Day have been in this situation if she'd been around more for both of them and not just her, at the time, successful son? And even after the accident, did she blame herself at all? Night changed himself. Day was eventually inspired to rid himself of his self-pity and hatred to recognise Night's pain. What did she, the grown-up do? Being a parent is hard, but that's not an excuse, it should be a constant reminder that if you're taking the easy way out of using your authority to get your way or pay others to do the hard work and responsibilities for you while you cling to your parental rights, you're not doing parenting. If money really were the issue, she could have talked to Mohk about it. How will you look after my son? How will you support him? She might even use her position and influence to help him get past the bias and prejudice that's in the way of him getting a job, seeing how Mohk has gone above and beyond to help her son and how devoted Mohk was to him. The fact remains that she just doesn't like Mohk, and while as an employee he has seriously crossed the line multiple times, as Day's protector, empowerer, defender, he's done more than she could ever hope for from anyone else. That happy family meal they had? That wouldn't have been possible without Mohk. Even her willingness to cancel her work commitments came after Mohk's unintended sting of her not being there to share the last moments of Day's sight. No amount of money could have bought that. Only the "light and loyalty" with which Mohk loves could have done that. Only by sacrificing what's beneficial for him to loyally love Day and be willing to do anything for him while keeping him safe, could Mohk inspire in Day the peace that let Day release so much of his pain, fear and anger. Sorry, I do get what the mother's point is on wanting someone who can support her son financially, but how she's been going about neglecting and outright harming his other needs just makes her lose all credibility with me.

    As much as I agree that I really would prefer if Day stayed blind and became a successfully functioning blind person, that's just the narrative. When I saw how happy they all looked in the last part, I realized that this is the reality. Day is a rich boy with resources, and why shouldn't he take the opportunity if it's there? After all, let's face it, who actually wants to stay blind if there's another way? At this point, I think that I'll be happy no matter how the surgery turns out, mainly because I trust P' Aof to make it beautiful either way. I do still think it would be better storytelling if he didn't get his sight back though, haha.
    Love your reactions and analyses! Looking forward to more!

    Haven't commented in a while but I have tons to say about this one!! Apologies if this comment is SUPER long!
    Firstly that ending, I 100% agree that I'd prefer if day stayed blind and I actually do hope the surgery doesn't work. As a disabled person I've had so many thoughts throughout my life wishing there was a way to cure my disability, even worse there technically is! My brother was born with the same one but a lot less severe and it was fixed super easy! It's quite common for kids to be born with and easy to fix in childhood, once you're out of childhood it can't be corrected anymore but usually cases get fixed. My case was very severe and I've had like 6 surgeries, spent my whole life in and out of hospitals, had so much physio, had to relearn how to walk so many times, have had so many different types of orthotics, I've had so much done but nothing ever worked and now I'm left as one of the "failed" cases that is an adult and just has to deal with this the rest of my life. It affects my ability to do normal every day tasks, to go out and do things, to work, it literally affects every aspect of my life and there's no hope it will get better, in fact it's 99% guaranteed I will be a wheelchair user in the future and I currently need mobility aids (although the lovely nhs doesn't care about adults with my condition so I don't even have any help at the moment 😀), all that to say I've had to do a LOT of work over my life to come to terms with my disability and accepting the reality of my life, in 2019 I had to quit my job, one of the only things I was passionate about, because it was impossible for me to do and I had to accept I'll basically never be able to work in that field. I've had to live in poverty since basically as I don't have family to support me either. Having gone though this journey I really truly relate to Day's journey in the show and seeing him accept himself and his situation is something I deeply empathise with, so on a personal level if he got a surgery and was no longer disabled I think I'd feel pretty heartbroken because whilst it IS realistic for someone of his status (rich and able to access these resources) for most of us it's not an option , especially since I've lived knowing people who've had my disability fixed with a simple surgery and stuff it would just hit a deep personal wound for me 😅 I think if he had the surgery and it didn't work I'd actually like that quite a lot, there's nothing like the absolute agony of going in for a surgery and hoping this will finally be it and then it turns out you're left the same (or worse) than before, so I know it would be a very very hard thing for him to deal with but I'd really enjoy seeing him work through that and still prosper regardless because I've never seen representation that gets so close to my own story 🥲
    I actually had a ton to say about the night scene and the stuff with the mum too but you said a lot of what I was thinking quite well, even down to being an older sibling yourself and stuff because I can really relate to that too 🥹 overall it was a bit of a tough episode but I think next week really will be the worst of it, it probs sounds cruel of me to want the surgery to fail and selfish that a lot of it is due to my own life experiences but idk the disabled community doesn't have a lot of good rep, especially not in queer media, and having such an amazing show that reps disability and that journey SO WELL end up with this once in a lifetime opportunity that the main character just so happens to get and then suddenly he's not disabled anymore and we all live happy ever after......idk I hate it 😭 so many stories end like that and it breaks my heart, the vast majority of us don't have these options and we will live our whole lives struggling against society and ableism and the government and doctors and our own symptoms,, I'd like for just one show to represent that you can be disabled and still live the happiest most fulfilling life possible !!! It won't always be easy, it won't always be happy, you will have days where you breakdown because you've lost something you'll never get back, you will compare yourself to others and get angry that you can't do what they do, you'll mourn the things you don't have for the rest of your life, but you will also experience amazing days and make great memories with good people and you will have a beautiful existence where you can experience disabled joy the likes of which able bodied people will never be able to understand- and that's what I want this show to ultimately show people :')

    Mom has seen Mhok as more than “caretaker” now that she knows they love each other i think her pov of worrying that Mhok possibly can’t provide for Day was fair bc at that moment the one who’s paying him is the mom herself. She wants someone who’s stable enough to be Day’s partner.

    I hate that everyone is bashing on the mom in this episode. To rephrase her concerns in the pov of an adult, or a mother. Shes not looking for someone who not only cares for her son, but provides for him as well. A lot of people in this and in real life are blinded by love. Yes it's extremely crucial to have love and respect for one another, but to also be stable in this world together. That's what mama is worried about. Shes seeing this as a mother and and employer who sees someone who can't provide just yet. She's knows she doesn't gain anything with her choices but hate from her sons. But her being their mother and a successful adult who CLAWED her way to success after being left alone with her two children mind you. Yes, her standards are valid for being high. She's fought her battles, now she needs reassurance the same things wont happen to her sons. That's why i respect her giving mok the push to be enough for day, not just be there for him. A care taker AND provider.

    ✨One word to sum up all behaviors of the Mom: 👉Paternalism.
    Explains everything: Limiting freedom and autonomy, making decisions of what's best for the subordinate/dependent...etc.
    More to this is also the personal experience of the Mom, i.e. having been cheated on/abandoned, so that she's frightened upon the thought of losing (in her sense) yet another family member. Overwhelmed by this prompt emotion, she's then only capable of coming to these reactions.
    Paternalism is undoubtedly the main reason though. Her every single action matches its features.
    Ironically, or even paradoxically, all lines of the Mom are so unreasonable yet absolutely realistic; by realistic I mean that's exactly what a person with a paternalistic mindset would say! Especially this: "As long as you're under my care, you'll have to listen to me." Believe me I immediately screamed "PATERNALISM!!" all the way out to our lovely city of Songkhla as that line appeared 😂 Kudos to the writers though, cuz what we're watching are definitely not some exaggerated or merely dramatic (for the purpose of being dramatic) lines; they appear 100% in conversations between parents & children in real life.
    ...they're as real just like the love between Mhok Day 😍🥹😭😭 Really emotional cuz it's been a long time since I last witnessed such deep & convincing love in my BL history. I just wish them all the happiness in the universe 🙏
    And thanks again for the video Freddie! 🤓

      As someone who grew up with parents that had similar mindset as her, I agree! How the mom acts or the stuff she says are indeed not an exaggeration cos they literally gave me major deja vu. I had to take a break from watching every after a scene with the mom in the first parts.

    • @twngler
      @twngler Před 7 měsíci +1

      Exactly. What's worse, parents are often not even aware of themselves behaving like this; rather they truly believe they're doing things for the children's good. That's the ugliest part.

    • @neoporticulis
      @neoporticulis Před 7 měsíci +1

      I mean, I don't disagree that she is leaning into the paternalistic philosophy of parenting, but given what she said about how she'll lose Day either way, that rather gives the game away. I think it's more about how she fears Day will leave her, as you've pointed out is related to her own marital experience, more than she genuinely thinks this is for Day'w good. Nitpicking on Mohk's financial status (it's not because he has terrible vices and addictions or is just plain lazy), which she could do something about just in terms of giving him opportunities to bypass all the prejudice Mohk gets, since he clearly passes in all other categories of caring for him and making him happy and genuinely willing to make sacrifices for him, underscores the point that she doesn't genuinely want someone who can take care of Day. Is she actively looking for such a person for Day? How does she expect Day to meet someone like that since her ideal vision of his care is someone who will keep him safe at home with the exception of the monthly medical appointments? I think it goes beyond living in a paternalistic society or having that mindset being exacerbated by her fears of abandonment, I think it's the fears of being abandoned coupled with her awareness that she's not been as present as she should have been and that it was Mohk who healed her son and that now has forged a bond with him that threatens her own that she's now resorting to banging loudly with her parental authority and exploiting Day's powerlessness in that situation. After all, is she saying she'll be pleased if Day finds someone who does exactly what she's doing? Rich enough to house him, clothe him, feed him, but leaves him to the care of a caretaker and only occasionally appears while Day spends the rest of his life hiding from the world? I think paternalism is the excuse not the reason for her behaviour.

    To make it clear, in Thailand, the social security benefits or disability benefits DO NOT well as in America or Europe. Day's mom wants to make sure that without her own money (in the future when she can't work or she die), the person who will be his partner can taking care him as well the rest of his life.

  • @GChannelist
    @GChannelist Před 7 měsíci +2

    i intensely disagree with her actions, but i think its important to understand Day's mom. Each time she makes a decision we can see she is wracked with guilt and she is in tears. She genuinely is trying to be the best possible mom and sometimes that means doing things your kids dont like, that is why Day and Night still obviously love her because its clear she is trying to be a good mom.
    That being said, she also has valid points. Day being blind means (we know that surgery is failing) a lifelong disability and she has been so busy working to provide him the privileges he has this series she hasn't seen his strides PLUS Day himself has fully demonstrated his road to independence (no education job prospects etc) so her fear over his relationship with Mhok an ex-con with no job are very much valid. Remember how she ran to Bangkok with nothing and fought tooth and nail for them to be where they are today.
    So much healing happened this episode for the family and next week is gonna be an emotional mess.

    • @neoporticulis

      I can't even give Day's mom that benefit of choosing what is hard because it is good for your kid. She said it herself, if she was going to lose Day anyway, better he be locked up and safe. As has been mentioned, Day has not had to suffer an injury since Mohk took over as caretaker, thus it's not likely that she means she'll lose Day because Mohk puts him in such danger. She mentions Mohk putting Day at risk, but we know she equates far off from home with danger. To be fair, Mohk has been very lucky that nothing has happened to Day, and that's probably why he couldn't defend himself when Day's mom accused him of placing Day at risk, but *she* doesn't know that. She specifically says just because he can take Day out of the room, doesn't mean he can take Day anywhere, not just anywhere dangerous, and adds that at the end of the day she is his mom. All of this suggests that she is not speaking about the actual dangers that Day was exposed to, but how Mohk has taken Day out beyond her comfort zone. Nevermind that these are mostly places Day wants to go and not Mohk's idea, and nevermind that these thing have helped Day emotionally and psychologically, needs for which I notice Day's mom can't seem to make the "hard" choice of cancelling work and spending time with her son in this medical crisis. She only makes the easy decisions for what makes her feel comfortable while reaping the rewards for the hard work that Mohk, Day and Night have struggled to put in to give her that nice family dinner at the end. I'm sorry, she doesn't have any credibility to me. You see someone who's proven themselves loyal, caring, gentle, who helps your child heal and grow, and your reaction is to nitpick on how he doesn't have money? Especially when she could use her influence to help him get past all that prejudice he faces? Forget the bullying and downright psychological torture she wanted to subject him to, there's no reasonable way for me to believe she has Day's best interests at heart. The tears if a torturer do not move me in the least, with all sincere respect to your right to an opinion, of course.

    Thank you for yet another amazing reaction Freddie.. You have become my favourite reactor to this show, and your reaction is always the first one I want to watch 🥰
    I have sooo many things to say about this mom.. I rarely use the word hate, but i HATE her.. She's so selfish, and even when I thought she got it, it just got worse 😪Oh she could take a day off because SHE wanted a family day, and telling Day she made his favourite food, when it was actually Nights.. And the thing she said when Day said it was Night's favourite food "you like it too".. I don't know if my hate for her have just clouded everything she does.. I felt like that was her redemption, and it's definitely NOT ENOUGH 😤
    It was amazing seeing Night and Day being brothers again.. And Day realizing the stuff the mom has made him go through.. Again MOM they're your kids not slaves or prisoners 😓
    I just LOVE Mhok and Day.. My hope is that they will stay together no matter what happens in EP 11 or else I will be mad/sad.. I kinda hope that the operation has failed and that will lead to Day finally having a TALK with his mom, I hope he will shout at her too.. I think that's the only way she will get to understand..
    In Moonlight Chicken Heart's parents was like Day's mom, and they didn't do ANYTHING for their son.. It was not until Heart finally snapped that they got it, and started changing.. I feel like we need that to happen here as well 😉

    I feel so angry too cuz I’ve been through the same with Day being controlled by his mom. They don’t realize that we are literally a human being, an adult that has our own mind except their child. We can’t make our own decisions just because of their so called ‘I care about you’ and ‘I don’t want you to get hurt’. When I watch that part in this episode, I just feel so helpless. Just like you said, we can’t control everything!! Hope Day’s mom will get it.

    I may get cancelled and hated for this... But I have to say this... Apart from the fact that she said Mhok should be financially independent and grow on his own, the mom has been a very shitty parent to both Day and Night.... "At least I'll be comfortable knowing that he's in his room" SINCE WHEN THIS ENTIRE SITUATION BECAME ABOUT HER COMFORT?
    "This wouldn't have happened if you took care of Day better" REALLY MOTHER? Even after knowing and seeing the guilt in which Night was living in, she not only decided to turn a blind eye towards him but also has the audacity to blame him for it..
    And I know what people will say "Oh she has gone through a lot as a single mother earning for her kids" YES but that doesn't make her any less of a shitty parent...

    as a person who doesnt have family similar to mhok, i really understand why he doesnt want day to be angry at his mother. i fucking hate everything that woman has done to both day & night, but me and mhok both know the pain of being completely alone in life. he doesnt want that for day, he wants him to be loved and have family. he wants everything he doesnt have himself, for day.
    i really understand mhok here, but i also get day's frustration. this lady was really getting on my nerves this episode. i had to pause everytime she spoke some bullshit to yell at my screen. as you said, NONE OF THIS IS ABOUT YOU MAAM.
    and im sorry, this might just be my lack of family projecting but her trying to play ms nice mom at the end doesnt change how much she hurt and is still hurting her children.
    taking a grown man's phone? changing the wifi password? guilt-tripping night about day's situation when even day has forgiven him? maam are you hearing yourself.
    i'll come back to something liming said in moonlight chicken. parents shouldnt get away with everything so easily just because theyre parents.
    as a parent it is your job to nurture and care for your children. not bring them down, invade their privacy or restrict their lives when theyre already adults.
    also not her neglecting day and night the entire show for her job just to come back and try to guilt trip night and control day. i need a fucking cigarette holy shit.
    aside from all that, i loved day telling night "its okay, i forgive you for everything" night really needed to hear that. and his teary bambi eyes while day gets back to their banter like nothing ever happened.. mark pakin the actor that you are.
    also night being like "take care of her, thats my child" YES!!! FUCKING PERIOD! not the step father but the father who stepped up i know thats right. strangely enough that was the only part that made me cry this episode lmao.
    anyway, as always, love you freddie! take care until ep 11 🤍

    I guess I have a bit less rage for the mom than everyone else. Her actions really aren’t ok at all nor to be excused! I just think that when she’s talking about “taking care” she means that financially. I guess Day and Night grew up poor, her as a single mom leaving with nothing and then fighting her way up while raising 2 kids alone… I get that she’s afraid that Day will end up “there” again and want him to be with someone who can provide. I don’t agree with her but understand a little where she’s coming from.

    Exactly how safe is Day in his room anyway? Didn’t he break his foot in there in three past? It seems like a hostage situation, when she took his phone and changed the wifi password!

    I don't think it's going to work either. They showed too much of that happy moment at the end of the preview. If it had worked I think they would keep that moment out of the preview entirely or almost entirely. Why show the audience already this happy and huge moment of the story? I am not buying it.
    What I find interesting is that it's not just Day's mother who is all about Mhok not being able to "take care of Day". Porjai and Mhok himself mentioned it too. My general impression is that they all mean financially. So I wonder what the resolution of that is. Mhok getting a "better job"? Day and Mhok getting to an understanding that money isn't everything?
    I once again loved the episode. The series is on its way to become my all time favorite BL and one of my favorite shows in general. I did not know JimmySea before Last Twilight, I only watched Vice Versa after falling for them in Last Twilight. I for sure hope they will get to work together again and if they do I will be so hyped. They are so good at portraying the romance and the natural cute moments. They are great actors in general of course but so are others but JimmySea especially are so good at playing characters falling for each other and being into each other.

      @@pagesinked it's not original story. There is novel. Lots of bl series are produced from the web novel. They will change the story a bit, but the original is stil from the novel.

    Just doubt that the donation eyes migh come from his dad!, since the series mentioned his dad saying that Day got his mouth and eyes from him in last ep

    As bad as it might be to say, I will be a bit disappointed if Day gets his vision back. I feel like it’d make the whole show’s message so far kind of pointless?

    I understand mom: Now he uses the money I gave him to take care of you. Without me as his boss, he wouldn't have this job. He earns 55,000 baht a month not because of you, but because of me (obviously Day can't pay him). If I'm gone = no job no money, how will he take care of you?
    He needs independence. Mhok knew so he resigned before she asked.

      But her immediate goal after the incident is to find Day a new caretaker. What difference does it make if it's Mhok vs somebody else if her argument is about the money?

    • @406231403
      @406231403 Před 7 měsíci

      @@calvinarrow Maybe I don't express myself very well in English. sorry
      She already regards Mhok as her son's significant other, and she doesn't want Mhok to rely on her for a living.
      Her immediate goal is to find him a new caretaker instead of a boyfriend.
      somebody else = if she is gone, Mhok can still make money and continue to take care of Day.
      Mhok gets the salary from her = if she is gone, Mhok has no income, and assuming he is 40 years old by then, it will be difficult for him to find a good job.
      So it’s not simply about money, but whether he can make money without her.
      Many Asain parents want their children and their spouses to work for them in order to control their lives. For younger generation in Asia (especially women), we are taught not to work in your spouse’s parents’ company because you will lose your independence.
      Maybe there are cultural differences, because I watch the reaction video from different countries(Asia and English), and I can get the difference.

    Not going to lie, this is the first time I’ve been disappointed in this series. Why P’Aof felt the need to go down the transplant road when he had constructed such a beautiful story with great messages for the LGBTQ+ and the whole disabled community. You don’t need to be fixed to live a great life with love, growth and acceptance. It waters down both this message and the whole last image scenes. Oh it’s not the last image you’ll ever see just the last for 2 months or so🤷‍♀️Hope there is some twist that brings it back from fantasyland. In my opinion in r/l Day is probably not a candidate for the corneal transplant and also to say he had a 1% chance of getting the donation it’s a Christmas Day miracle!! I’m annoyed 😑
