You have to be a US citizen to get UBI. Do you think like what you are saying will happen? Would you raise your rents? I value stay at home moms.GDP does not. You should really do more research instead of choosing to troll your negativity about a candidate that has obviously thought things through. He (Andy) can't afford to do that for everyone; not even if he became President. No amount of taxation will make it possible, either. Only by reducing costs; all costs, is that lofty goal possible. And; the only way to do that is to release (un-suppress) free energy (over unity) generators. Trump was able to compel NASA to fess up to the reality and existence of free energy generators. (See; NASA's peer review of the EmDrive). The EmDrive is a free energy thruster. As of this date, however, Trump has not been able to affect their release to the public. All we (the American people) want to know is; when are you going to get free energy generators released to the public; manufactured in large scale, that is? www.sciencealert.com/it-s-official-nasa-s-peer-reviewed-em-drive-paper-has-finally-been-published

The USA can easily share 20-40% of its budget back to its Shareholders and it can actually circulate better of money locally. When the 1% gives up 30% of their money, they won’t even feel it.

You can only achieve that lofty goal by reducing costs; cost of everything. And, you cannot achieve that without releasing (un-suppressing) free energy generators for public consumption. Trump was able to compel NASA to fess up to the reality of free energy (over unity) but, he has not, as of this date, been able to affect it's public release; large scale manufacture (of free energy generators) thereof. (See; NASA's peer review of the EmDrive). The EmDrive is a free energy thruster.

Amazon and other online services will kill off all the retailers... Fastfood jobs, and the part that post people don't count on, paperwork, accounting, everything that doesn't requires creativity, will be done by Ai.. so around 30-50 years from now, 70-90% of now existing jobs will be gone, and there wont be new ones to replace them, which means, you have to to start building a new system eventually, before society collapses.. @Swae Ocean Andrew studied law and economics, and started a non-profit that helped college grads start companies in rural America. Take the time to actually read his policies vs other candidates. How does giving every citizen over 18 $1000/month any worst than the status quo, or give government more power? The UBI doesn't stop you from creating your own business, earning more money, and making something of yourself. So I don't understand your argument.

    • @fudgeknuckle952
      @fudgeknuckle952 Před 5 lety +25

      @Swae Ocean Taxation is a prerequisite to civilization. There is no counterfactual. Taxing businesses (VAT) will indeed increase the cost of goods to a degree, but it can be targeted and the wealth generated by these corporations (who are not people) will be sent to the people with no bureaucracy and checks to restrict you. If you think this is impossible, Milton Friedman, 1000 economists, and every adults in Alaska for generations disagree. He also proposes a solution to the capture of our state by our corporations. It, and UBI, is a simple and efficient way to juice the economy. You will still have to work. You will still have to participate in the market. You will not have to pay to imprison people for being poor. You will not have children malnourished in the wealthiest nation in human history. I admire your passion, but you're wrong. UBI is an easy answer and the cheapest form of redistribution there is to implement. The VAT is the most effective way to stop tax avoidance. UBI is the most effective way a government can spend it's money on the economy. These are proven statements supported by history and science. I made the mistake of reading youtube comments. I will not make that mistake again again. Good luck.

      @TheBushdoctor68 Před 5 lety

      @TheUnDrunkPCBastard _ Limited tests with UBIs have actually shown the opposite. People used them to pay for the means to get a job. Like a car, child care, or it simply allowed them to accept a nicer job but with lower wage than their current. Another group used that money to cut a day's work and spend more time with their family.
      It's not like people can live on a thousand bucks a month. Not if you have a family to feed and rent to pay. Your Dad is right in his comparison of a UBI functioning as a financial floor you can't fall below.
      On a side note, often when people fall into money, through an inheritance or lottery, they *still* continue working for at least several days a week. Work is not just a pay check for many people, but a large part of their social life. You could say people *want* to work, even if they don't have to.
      Sure, there's also a minority who just doesn't want to work at all, but they exist in our current society as well, and the way things are, they cost society a LOT more now, than they would when we just give them a bare minimum to live on.

      Carver john it is probably not worth trying to engage in a conversation with you but I am going to try. Yang ran a non profit helping an incredibly diverse group of young entrepreneurs start businesses in the middle of the country. He saw a problem with our economy that caused Trump to be elected. Bernie saw the same problem in 2016. The difference is Yang’s solutions are geared for the future and Bernie’s are landed firmly in the past. How does a jobs guarantee help YOU more than an extra 12k a year?
      I assume that your reply will include some conspiracy that he is blowing smoke to siphon off votes from Bernie but most of his supporters are new or independent. For example in my state I have to register as a dem to vote in the primary. Bernie, who I supported, was not enough to motivate me to change from no party affiliation. Yang has and he has motivated me to donate to his campaign.
      I don’t think you will change your mind but I hope you can debate policy instead of conspiracy going forward.

      @Bill Turner Due to automation, many people (e.g. call center workers, truck drivers, etc.) will lose their job. This has been projected by research as well as reputable people such as Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, etc., who also endorsed UBI as the solution to prevent the crisis when automation goes full scale.
      As for the "people will still work," he was referring to people still have the *desire* to work, because $1,000/month is not enough to live on. Whether there is a job available is a different question altogether.

      @Bill Turner It'll help fight the loss of work value that would result from them being replaceable but allowing for smaller wages. Also Yangs other policies include policies to regulate and slow complete automation.

      TheEnd , THE TECH INDUSTRY IS THE OIL FOR THE 21ST CENTURY, amazon paid $0 in federal income tax. His plan is to implement VAT which is used in every single other developed nation around the world. This way, companies can not escape paying tax like they can now. So $600 billion from this, the $200 billion in increased spending along with carbon fee on big industries, reduced military funding etc and it comes down to an affordable price which the most powerful economy in the world can afford

      Giving 1000 a month to people who already use 100 dollars a month on drugs, what could go wrong. Now they could use $500 on drugs a month.
      Illegal drug market, and gun trafficking will explode and crime will double or triple.
      Yang is good, but he has never given an answer to this problem.

    • @zaidsoulat6331
      @zaidsoulat6331 Před 5 lety +9

      Paul Denino , while that might be the case for some people, it will wont be for others, why do people go into the drug trade, gun trade etc? For money, so giving people who are vulnerable to joining these illegal trades $1000/month will likely prevent them from joining these trades, they could leave the area if they are at risk, they can start a business or move to an area wit better opportunities, get them out of poverty. One of the biggest reasons people get addicted to dugs, after mental health etc is economics, giving people some financial support would help, stop, prevent people from doing drugs, they can improve their life etc.

    • @XKenny77
      @XKenny77 Před 5 lety +4

      @@pauldenino2560 That's a fair concern, but UBI trials pretty consistently show crime falling, often by quite a lot. People also tend to reduce alcohol and tobacco consumption, so illegal drugs would very possibly be the same. One suggestion for why that happens is that because people have a new level of financial security, they don't end up self-medicating in the same unhelpful ways. As for violence, I know a Chicago cop who thinks the Freedom Dividend would be a game-changer for some of the gang kids she deals with every day. She thinks it would steer them away from gang life because they'd have an income and a better life available to them as a result. Obviously some people are still going to have problems, but it will be a lot easier to deal with those when everyone else is doing so much better than they are now.
