Yang has some interesting ideas. This video is good. But his main ideas are backward and socialist like UBI, Medicare for ALL, and he supports the Climate Change scam. Unless he ditches those ideas his time will never come. Perhaps he could switch to Republican after Trump wins 2020 and give it another go in 2024 without the socialism.
@Charlie Lian No Alaska does not have a UBI. It is a dividend from land leases from the oil companies. This dividend was only $1,100 per year in 2017 so no real impact on personal finances. Yang's UBI cannot be funded without doubling taxes or printing money and all true UBI experiments have failed. It would be a massive fail and is a socialist program.
If the government wants to open free clinics for those that want it, I am fine with that. Those people can deal with long waiting periods and low quality healthcare because you should get what you paid for, or didn't pay for in most cases.
Yeah, he is not a nut like the rest. But he is still towing the far left lines of freebees and supports the outrageously expensive and dangerous climate change scam.

Just as Alaska's "UBI" was a dividend from oil industry, Yang's UBI will be a dividend from a tech industry that is literally paying 0 in taxes. Yang is no socialist, he's addressing the severe income inequality and lack of real employment so that our capitalism works better

I like this except he won't make it mandatory so those people will actually cost more than they do now. 2. A VAT which is a tax on all goods as they are produced. Which means products will cost more to consumers. Not good for anyone. 3. He thinks giving people money will stimulate the economy. At first it might but in the long run it will hurt the economy because nothing is being produced for receiving the free money. 4. Further taxing the rich. This is theft, immoral, and will reduce overall taxes collected in the long run.
I see nothing on his website that says the tech industry would pay for it. It will cost 3 trillion dollars per year. You overestimate the tech industries profits. In Alaska, the oil companies are leasing the land from the State and the State is passing that income on to the citizens. What value is the tech industry getting from the US government that creates the dividend? Just because Yang calls it a dividend doesn't make it one. You misunderstand what a dividend is.
Yang's Venture for America seems really good but many of his Presidential promises are socialist and terrible. The UBI is a wealth transfer, which is socialism. Medicare for All is something for nothing which is socialist. His human-centered capitalism is not what it typically is supposed to be and it doesn't make any sense. These are enough for Yang to fail in my opinion.

That's actually one of his proposals: your data is yours, and if a company wants to use it, you must get a cut of what they make. Makes perfect sense to me. What is inmoral is that Amazon pays 0 in taxes. In Spain I pay between 15 and 36% in taxes + a monthly fee to operate my business. It's a robbery, but I get many benefits from it like cheap or free education + free healthcare. Not a perfect system, but none is anyway :)
In a modern society, nobody should be left out in poverty. Some people are dealt a VERY poor hand of cards, and we must strive for a society in which any of us would be ok being in any situation inside it. Somebody said that you know you live in a good society when you wouldn't mind being born in any of its layers because you would be taken care of and have oportunities to succeed.

This was before he realized that all that effort he put into bringing jobs and innovation to cities across the US was like pouring water into a bathtub with a big whole in the bottom of it, and decided that the best way to solve the problem was to run for president.
He had a goal, and even after seven years of pouring water straight down the drain, he's still doing everything he can to fill that bathtub, even if it's much harder than he originally expected. Now that's called conviction!
It's like after working and working for a common good for the society, he saw it was not really helping as much as he wanted. And no politician in DC was even willing to talk about it or do something about it.
So he was like "fawk it", I will run for POTUS.
And I welcome it.

They both have qualities I like. I trust Sanders more with foreign policy due to his experience. But I like Yang's technological and economic savvy. I think the two of them would be a great president/vice president combo.

@@jasonpenniepan4838 Yeah I agree. Sanders is great, but I don't think he's aware of just how serious job automation is. Singlepayer healthcare and tuition free university won't matter that much if a third to a half of Americans don't have an income. That said, Sanders just needs someone to tell him this and the steps to take to solve it, and Yang as the VP could very well do that. Or if they reversed roles and Yang was the president, then that would still work out very well I think.
@Radioactive Kripy The presidency is a position where strength is based on intellect. Why would being old make Sanders a weak leader, his mind is still quite fresh. Not as fresh as Yang's sure, but still fresher than that of most career politicians.

That's actually much more brilliant of an idea than you might realize! One of the reasons Trump was so successful in the 2016 election was because he was already a household name, thanks to years of being on The Apprentice. Andrew Yang can do the same with his own CZcams channel / podcast.

Politics aside, this was an awesome, fascinating TED talk. I liked how he wanted to have a conversation with the audience, rather than just lecturing them at 15 minutes. It's a real indicator of the type of leader he could be. He's clearly brilliant and could do anything, but he would bring bold, incredible ideas as a Secretary of Commerce, Labor or HUD.
