Devon, I really like when you get a chance to interview designers, publishers, etc. You always have thoughtful questions, and most importantly you actually seem to listen to the answers and try to engage your subjects. Lots of people (including professional journalists) just seem to want to get through their list of questions as fast as possible. A good follow-up question often can result in the best part of the interview. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!
Amazing interview Devon, great to hear Matt and Rich's insights ! A great conversation between smart people, really enjoyable :)
Thanks so much! Enjoy hearing your feedback 🙂
I'm really happy about this announcement and even though I'm still waiting for my MHW pledge to arrive, I was _terribly_ scared of them dropping the game and moving on, since that's basically what SFG has been doing up until now! Nevermind the expansion for _their own_ games, it's the big IPs that they've acquired that I'm talking about.
Albeit more of a stand-alone game than a big expansion or extension of the original's gameplay, I'd still much rather know about Iceborne _now_ than sit with my fingers crossed that SFG will actually break away from their usual habit of not really continuing to support their products!
This also opens up for potential monster, gear and area expansions. I've got my hopes up now that we're getting Iceborne, again even though its more of a stand-alone!
Iceborne is offering a lot!
Another great interview, Devon! You ask great questions and create plenty of space for people to open up. I love how thoughtful you are. It was really fun learning more about Monster Hunter World and Steamforged’s approach
Aw thanks so much 🙂
I just love how they are treating Iceborne BG just like the Iceborne DLC. (More content then the original game)
It’s so much!
What bugs me is the scale for the monsters seems to be all over the place. Good example is tobi vs Anj in world.
I think it likely has to do with logistics of the game mechanics and also physical production
If they are offering the original along with iceborne I will really want to get everything.
I did notice the new models have sculpted bases though. Wonder if they will update the original ones?
That would be a good pledge option :)
You didn't have your knife with you this time. 😢
They wouldn’t allow it through airport security
Not this time!
Why Rajang is so big? :/
Because he ate Rafiki!
Did you "contribute" to 6 seige from their march update. This is so screwed the game is literally being held hostage. Gave them 100s of dollars years ago and now they need more
I didn’t. The invoice for $250 is insane
I just saw the Dragon’s Tomb #1 game video. I’m deeply disappointed that your game was made up, like all the others. With your tag line, “where the games are made up,…” You of all people should have included a real game. Like Tic Tac Toe. :-)
Hahahaha you’re right. Missed opportunity
@@DevonTalksTabletop We can talk about penance at Level Up. :) Seriously, Mingo told me the two of you are running an RPG called Honey Heist or something. Does it require writing and are you running it on Saturday? I might want to join you, but like Alex, I don’t write on the Sabbath. If we can make it work, I’d love to try it with my 14 year old daughter.
