    You can just feel the organic ness of the time that we don’t feel anymore. Those of us who got to be filmed by video camera with that nostalgic feel are so lucky. The organicness before the severe awareness and camera culture.

      What you call organicness is because it is analog. It captures the true waveforms of reality, and even watching them back digitally like this you can tell it is closer to the real thing. If you have the chance try seeing a picture of a loved one on a Polaroid or analog captured and printed photo as opposed to digitally, and it is almost like seeing them in reality.

      Do you think that there is a difference in terms of the depth of relationships before and after the internet? • @MikeLaRock88
      @MikeLaRock88 Před rokem +19

      @@leokorn1629 Yes, a huge difference. I feel like back in the day we actually wanted to be around other people because we didnt have access to instant entertainment like phones, internet, games, etc. So we were more caring about our relationships with people. I was considered anti social as a kid because I was quiet, but I still went around the neighborhood asking kids to come out and play because I was so bored. I couldn't imagine the need to do that today.
      When it comes to dating relationships its even worse because today you have instant access to thousands of people on dating sites or social media, so its easy to dump someone and move on, or just cheat. Not to mention the things like Tik tok that teach the youth to be super picky and have unrealistic standards for people. But back before the internet it was pretty much anyone you met in person and you had a good chance of never seeing them again if you didn't have their phone number or knew someone that knows that person, so you had to conversate and make a good impression.
      Relationships were more personal and pure back then is what I'm trying to say, not that all of them were good, but it was definitely different.

      @-Reagan Před rokem +11

      @@hankscorpion I hope she truly is content with where she is, now, with her success and what she’s doing. It doesn’t detract from past achievements or negate her success to point out the way pressures from the industry and fans can have detrimental effects on development. That was who she was and what she achieved in her teens and early twenties. The crux is that, no matter how much money they have, material possessions and past achievements, alone do not continue to provide fulfillment. This is particularly true of creative fulfillment.
      People at 17 aren’t the same as at age 37. Artists, particularly are constantly evolving through technique and experimentation, self-expression, internal and external experiences, new inspiration and influences. To be presenting the same way, for over twenty formative years, is concerning. It can imply many things, such as arrested development, for different reasons.
      I never said anything negative about her as a person, we don’t know her personally, which is why I’m not speculating on specificities outside of her image, artistic expression and her place in the industry. What she presents to the public is her image. It’s the same with many artists.
      My speculations are just that, based on what we’re shown. My point is that her creative potential seems thwarted by the industry and social pressures, but maybe she’s replaced that with other things, inspiration, people 🤷🏼‍♀️my hope is that she’s enjoying herself, and continues to grow to achieve her potential.

      Aye....I even married my wife who i called my "avril" - with a poster up of avril in my bedroom. Been together since 2007 married in 09. Gotta 10 year old impossibly pretty daughter named Missie-Camaro. My wife married me because I looked like Billy Joe Armstrong from green day and wore eyeliner.
      Today she's terminally ill and I've aged, our daughter is our gift to this world and really has a purpose. So much so everyone is trying to take her off us.
      Im very fortunate to find my avril. I know most don't but I'm very unlucky in many other things.
      Much love all

    People comment about the fact that there was something special about those times that you can capture on video. I think that what gives this feeling is that back then people didn't look at the camera objective imagining themselves talking directly to their followers. Cameras were unusual and people didn't act in front of them, they remained natural. But this still exists today. People are still natural whenever there is no camera. So the main difference is in how we relate to cameras, not really in the way we act today in general.
    But films and pictures are our only eyes into the past now, this is why it is affecting so much how we think of things. I was born the same year as Avril Lavigne, and I remember people being really not so different back then. But if you use films instead of your own memory, yes, it will look very different.
    The part at 3:50 looks exactly like what you could find in a tiktok video. The only difference is that we know people are not doing things for their followers, us watching them 30 years later was not part of the plan, hence the impression of genuineness.
