- He's just a sack of bones 😔.
This poor old skinny man is covered in burrs, smells as though he's been living in trash, and his back legs aren't working. Although we don't think he was hit by a car, it looks like he might have degenerative myelopathy, which basically means his back limbs and spine are very weak. This is very common among pure-bred German Shepards. We're getting him all cleaned up (he's soooo thirsty and hungry). Because he has so many burrs, we named him Bill Burr and will continue to update everyone. He's the sweetest man, we're so glad we have him. ❤
PLEASE, come foster or adopt today, tomorrow, and Sunday. We are open every day and are begging for help so we can get back on the streets, these dogs need help and it's killing us not being out there. Just come, no appointment needed: 2320 Pine Street, 63103

Dear, sweet Donna and team @StrayRescueOfSt.Louis thank you so much for saving this incredible sweetheart 🙏🏼🫶🏼 My heart broke immediately when I saw this video 💔🥺. Poor sweetheart. I hope he will have 'enough' for his recovery with lots of love, rest, lots of sleep, a nice bath and care, good food, water, s soft bed, millions of hugs and a.s.a.p his forever or foster home. Tears still stream down my cheeks. He has a (flea? -) collar on, so he belonged to someone......

What a beautiful dog, such a stunning face. How could you neglect this magnificent dog? To be that weak, that thin, that thirsty?? There's NO excuse. I'm going to temper my anger and just say thank you. ❤

I’ve heard that German shepherds are rivalling pit bulls in numbers at shelters these days. What is wrong with these selfish people that abandon and neglect their dogs? Thank god for people like you guys ❤
I've got a gsx now 12 that I took out of a horrible kennels as a youngster . He is as sweet as any dog and so nicely protective he just tell cyclists etc he won't take any nonsense
Because people don’t understand the breed they are working dogs smart loyal protective active
Dear,because stupid people,follow a hipe,just like a game or a fashion brand.When they are bored with it,they "throw away".Sad and sick,hope they get their share one day.
Really Sheppards wow people really don't want to train their dogs that would be my first choice they are so loyal
In my local shelters in North CA. it's pitbulls, followed by German shepards, followed by huskies. The ones that bother me the most are the old dogs - any breed.

Shepherds are my favorite. I have two, and they are the most loyal dogs. Hopefully, he find a home that truly loves and appreciates him.
I’m praying they will ban all puppy mills all over the world , I’m praying that they will pass a bill that all dog owners should neuter & spay their dogs, I’m praying that all the government all over the world will help in neutering & spaying dogs & cats. ❤️🙏

I've only ever wished for a lot of money so that I could build a refuge and hospital for as many dogs as possible, and then keep as many as I could properly care for. It breaks my heart and haunts my dreams when I see these poor sweet Angels in such need, and think of the ones who never get rescued😢😢. Thank the Lord God for people like you❤❤. He’s a beautiful dog. FYI, Truckers lose their pets while they’re on the road and often have loads and a time frame so heartbreakingly, have to leave. Truckers lost and found pets is on FB, I will share with them.

So messed up ! How y’all can do this to an innocent dog is beyond me! Omg so much hate dog cruelty, strays ! Very hard to watch I literally had to hold my tears back cover my mouth of disgust ! The scenario plays out: a purebred puppy is bought and loved until he develops hip dysplasia, then he's dumped because he's "broken." Other truckers. My mom had a GSD when I was a kid. She was humanely euthanized when she was in terrible pain from dysplasia.
This particular rescue restores my faith in human kind. Thankyou and bless you all

I have such respect for rescuers. They see the worst in humanity, but rise above their own thought and feelings to continue to focus on the mission. I’m sure there are many tears at night though.

Oh my gosh he is so sweet. I wish I could take him. Unfortunately I have an Akita bull dog mix I rescued at the APA years ago and I don’t think they would mix. I pray that someone adopts him soon.
