PARIS Mike Westbrook SOLO

Mike Westbrook’s D.T.T.M. was composed in memory of two musicians, trombonist Danilo Terenzi and drummer Tony Marsh, both of whom toured with the Mike Westbrook Brass Band
and the Westbrook Orchestra in the 1980s and early 90s.
D.T.T.M. is one of the tracks featured on Mike’s solo piano album, recorded live by Jon Hiseman in July 2016 at Hélène Aziza’s Paris art gallery and music venue, 19 rue Paul Fort in the 14th arrondissement of the city. This video was filmed during the recording.
In his 80th year, Mike Westbrook improvises on themes from his own musical history, on songs written in collaboration with vocalist/librettist Kate Westbrook, on jazz classics, popular music
and the blues.
The album, Mike Westbrook PARIS, was released on Steve Plews’ ASC Records (asccd 166), in October 2016.
Mike will gave a solo performance at Kings Place, London in the London Jazz Festival on November 19th 216. This was followed by a post-concert discussion between Mike and musician/music journalist Philip Clark.
