- Today we're back from Southampton and cruising again, after the great news that Crofton locks have reopened, when they were shut for a few days, due to low water levels. We head through great bed Bedwyn and onwards to Crofton where we had hoped to moor, but on arrival, we found that it was packed, so we decided to head up Crofton locks, to the summit pound of the Kennet and Avon canal, at 450ft. We also go through Bruce tunnel and attempted to go through Wooten Rivers locks, but we were too late...

My grandmother lived in the railway stationmasters house directly above the tunnel until 5 yrs ago until she passed, there were 2 railway stations and a cattle market there going back to the 70’s, it was a major hub where 2 railway lines met ! Interesting fact for you ! Great vlog again but you must visit Crofton beam engines when it’s in ‘steam’, the oldest beam engine in the world 👍
we visited the beam engine but not when it was in steam. Josh has made a vlog on it and will be showing it soon. It would have been too busy when it was a steam for Josh to film. Very interesting and the tour guides are brilliant. Loved the visit.

Josh picks some great music for the videos. It was a lovely cruise again. I thought you had lost the Devon flag then noticed it had been moved. You get a mention in Boat Time latest video. They went passed where the narrowboat was moored in the edge of the field and explained they put it there as the CRT was going to charge them to moor on the canal.

Nice cruise. Pretty countryside. Furthest we have been is Burbage Wharf. We turned back after that. Will just wanted to do the tunnel as he hasn't done a canal tunnel before.
