50-Mile Narrowboat Cruise to ESCAPE The Overwhelmingly Busy River Thames
Today we continue our mega narrowboat cruise down the River Thames, a total journey of 100 miles in just two days. All this to reach the hardest and most expensive canal to get to. The Basingstoke Canal. But first another 40 miles on the Thames, this time through, Marlow, then to Maidenhead, through the very busy but beautiful Windsor and Stains on Thames before reaching Weybridge, where we join the River Wey, and make our way up to the junction of the Basingstoke canal.

Touroll U1 The BEST Value Cheap EBIKE For Life on The Canals
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 1KPĆed 4 hodinami
Today i review the Touroll U1, a great value-for-money electric power-assisted bike, from a company fresh to the UK market, bringing amazing build quality for a price, half that of most other Ebikes. I'll take it through rigorous tests, such as top-speed tests, braking tests, hill climbs and much more. This is a bike that I can't recommend enough, I don't know how they make a bike for this chea...
Boat Caught on a WEIR! Cruising 50 Miles in ONE Day on a Narrowboat
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 3KPĆed 9 hodinami
Today we begin our epic 90-mile cruise down the Mighty River Thames to the River Wey. We're doing this over 2 days thanks to the extremely expensive price of a River Thames Visitor licence. Today will be the longest day, 50 miles in total. We'll be beginning at Oxford at 6:30am which is very early for us! and we'll be making our way down the winding Thames all day and hopefully end up around He...
Cruising Through Oxford at NIGHT! On Our Narrowboat Was a BAD Idea!
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 3KPĆed 16 hodinami
Today we head down to Oxford on the last section of the Southern Oxford canal, passing along a lovely section of the River Cherwell, before cruising through the very popular village of Thrupp. Then we moor at Yarnton for a few days, before heading down to the Duke's cut, a shortcut onto the Thames, by-passing the canal into Oxford. We've got a long way to cruise over the next 3 days over 100 mi...
One Place You NEVER Want to Meet Another Narrowboat! Oxford Canal
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 2,9KPĆed 21 hodinou
Today we continue our narrowboat journey south on the Oxford canal, heading for the Thames. We're going a long way today, from Twyford to Enslow a distance of 15 miles. Along a very beautiful stretch of canal, until we get to Aynho, which is an extremely tight and narrow part of the canal, where you don't want to meet an on coming boat. But we did. Causing a bit of drama... Link to our Camperva...
Lock Gate WONT Open! Causing a MAJOR Traffic Jam on The Oxford Canal!
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 2,7KPĆed 14 dny
Today we begin our narrowboat cruise right after the Crick Boat Show, heading a couple of miles towards Banbury, passing through 3 locks, one with a beautiful lock cottage on it, which we have the pleasure of hearing the story behind it from the owner. We then head off the next morning, but the weather isn't so nice this time, with drizzle dampening the mood. Things get busy at Banbury lock in ...
Narrowboater Didn't Want to Wait His Turn! Cruise Through Cropredy

Today me and mum need a few bits from the closest shop which is right on the canal, and instead of cycling, we decided to cruise, quite spontaneously. First through the Claydon Flight of 5 locks, before descending another 4 to Cropedey on a gloriously sunny Saturday, but at the last look, we encounter a somewhat impatient boater... Today we cruise through some of the most stunning canal on the network and some of the remotest. Once we finally reach civilisation, in the village of Fenny Compton, we get a much-needed pump-out. Then it's through the Ex-Fenny Compton Tunnel, before reaching our mooring at Claydon when M...

Today me and mum head up the stunning Napton flight of 9 to the South Oxford Canal's summit. Today after taking the van ahead to the South Oxford canal at Napton and cycling back, we head up the Stockton Flight, joined by a hire boat. Nah then, ey up me ducks. Looks lovely around there, only thing spoiling it is those snooty, soft Southern shandy drinkers, lol. Ay a good'un guys đđ
Great videos and the views are brilliant love to be afloat
Get some hay,dip it in the river, you got some weyhay đđđđđđ
Epic cruise. I didnât realise the Thames is so windy all the way down. Lovely scenery. You must have been absolutely shattered and so terribly difficult to moor up. You would think they would make it a bit easier. đ»
As someone with zero knowledge of these boats and canals, what exactly was the issue? Does downstream boat have first go at the locks?
Absolutely brilliant review Josh. The best one I have seen on CZcams. â€
Americans shooting their mouths as much as they do their guns
I took a new boater or on a trip specifically to teach her how to operate a lock. Another boater lost his rag when I asked him to NOT help with the lock as otherwise the point of the trip would have been completely lost. I guess he was in a hurry, which isn't something anyone should be on the canals.
Looks a smart practical cost effective e bike, great vlog Josh again đ
Thanks đ
What an awesome review and test, very thorough and well thought out. đ
Thank you đ
I always enjoy your channels Josh and miss the campervan. Please do not turn in to a selling channel like so many more have.
This is a one off and it's great for Mum to have a good bike and make it a bit easier for her that's why I agreed to do it.đ
@@TaylorsAboardaNarrowboat I totally understand Josh, great for Mum.
Anyone who has never driven faster (on any conveyance) due to anxiety, anger, or even positive emotions is a saint! đ
Looks really good đ Especially going uphill đ
Thanks Rachel đ
Thankyou
Good review Josh!
Thanks đ
Excellent demonstration with your bike, Josh..
Thanks đ
Very nice bike đ
Used to live in England & that's a beautiful upload. Clueless hire-boaters (not surprised) + angry loud mouth = bad mixture. Angry guy might've been right, but sorry if he gave the rest of us yanks a bad name.
What an absolutely fantastic review Joshđyou smashed it! So informative throughout, superb footage and kept me interested all the way through. Best product review Iâve watched in vlogs by far . Well done đ đđŠ
Thanks Sue. Josh appreciates your positive comments xx
Question do I/you have to register to use on river?
another lovely video, makes me sad to see all the derelict boats that have been abandoned though. Why won't the owners rescue them?
I know it's a sad sight not sure why they aren't removed đ
WowâŠ.what a great big cruise. Thanks for this one. Was this your longest? And with a full tank on a river and withe the current whatâs the max distance you could go before running out of fuel?
I think over the wash was more miles not sure. Olives fuel tank is big about 300 litres. We don't very often fill her up it would cost too much.
Hes american what do you expect. Braindead.
Amazing vlog! I miss the rivers in Winter and Summer. I'm pleased you enjoyed this cruise apart from the hours you did. A big step forward from Red boards! x
I luckily didn't experience the red boards and what we know now Lucy Andy and Josh would never have done it. We were such novices then. Hopefully we have learnt from that experience but loved the Thames this time of year just beautiful đâ€
I was thinking about Andy. He stays in the van when heâs working and then drives to catch you up. Howâs he going to manage when youâre down on the Thames?
He is away for 4 days so gives us plenty of time to get where we want to get without worrying about the van.đ
Hey Jason, for us New Zealanders, could you show us how a lock works? We see you grinding away and pushing the arms, but what are the rules and how a lock works. That should be a great vid. Cheers Dave & Anne New Zealand.
Hey there. I don't know who Jason is lol đ but Josh will try and show how the paddles and gates work. It's much different on the river as its just a matter of pressing a button. A lot easier.đ
Yes Josh, just checking that you were keeping an eye on us Kiwi,s.
â@davidcandy2220 love new Zealand. I went there in 2016 and spent 6 weeks there touring around north and south island with my son Luke and his wife. What a beautiful country you live in. I went on my own and met them out there. Long journey but well worth it. I would love to take Andy and Josh there one day. Kind regards Diane xx
Epic cruise! Crikey and you made it look so easy đTwo parts.. firstly all the damaged boats was sad but the footage and no roads or trains made it beautiful to watch. Hope you can slow down now and rest âïž
We loved the Thames Sue. It's an amazing river this time of year. Beautiful đ
What a lovely cruiseâŠ.so pretty. I need to watch this one again. Seems like a lot of sunken boatsâŠsuch a sad feeling to see. There is a lot of very pretty architecture in buildings and boats that are so pretty and charming. That was a very long day of cruising. You look pretty tuckered out. Hope that night was a good restful one to catch up energy.
It was a very long day Nancy but worth it the river thames is such a stunning river.đ
Lovely filming Josh one nice thing, " No Motorways đ just gorgeous properties đ
Lovely properties. The only thing is you are only in one place in a house that's what we all love about this life. Every couple of days you have a different view. It's amazing đ
Another enjoyable episode. Please get some rest now x
We certainly slept well after this journey Teresa đŽ
Beautiful scenery. And yes you both look tired. Congrats on your longest day đđđđ
We were very pleased when it was over but loved every minute of it.đ
Wow that was a long but beautiful cruise. The area around the Thames is stunning.
It certainly is stunning especially this time of year đ
This guy is yawning as heâs speaking. Bored much?
The Thames looks so pretty. Another fantastic video đđ
The Thames is beautiful this time of yearđ
Epic cruise!
Thank you đ
I take my hat of to you Josh and Diane, that was one epic cruise. Youâve definitely cut your teeth now, and shown that you are both very capable narrow boaters. Well done.
Thank you Gary what a lovely comment we appreciate that đ
We have a tree like that where we live, just waiting for it to go
Post code for the test section near Shrewsbury please.
Some lovely property along that river beautiful. đ well done đ đ
There are some amazing houses Chris. How the other half live but still wouldn't change this life to living in a house anymore. We love it â€
@TaylorsAboardaNarrowboat I expect you're more happier than they are.
â@christopherbutler7588 we certainly are Chris even with all the bad luck we get. Say hello to your Mum for me xx
Always enjoy your journeys and information, love the ambient music Josh very relaxing.
Thank you so much and keep watching đ đ
Enjoy your maps. Your vlogs just keep getting better and better. Thank you for taking us along.
Thanks Soni glad you are still enjoying them đ
"It's the locks that sow you down" - Thames lockes are slow because - they hold a lot of water / are deeper than on the canals / when unmalled they are deliberately slow to empty or fill to protect boaters getting to trouble....
I know they are very big so hold much more water than on the canals so much slower to fill or empty but the Thames is beautiful this time of year.
Why should we support you going up and down canals, just so you can enjoy your selfs when there are people. dying and starving ,hope you enjoyed you ba b Q ,
You are doing my favourite stretch of Canal and I new you wouldnât get fresh veg but handy for other things. Itâs my favourite village and we love mooring and listening to the church clock. Great photography.
Well done Josh and Diane great cruise! Hard work at times but great to watch.
Thanks so glad you enjoyed the vlog đ
Hoping to see you on the River Wey or the Basingstoke Canal which are close to me having followed you all from the BCN network. Safe journey keep up the lovely filming take care Alistair H â€đ
We loved the Basingstoke canal and the river Wey. Beautiful đ
Thankyou again take care.
Thanks Carol đ
I didn't want to post until you mentioned your plans to do the Basingstoke canal, but now you have........đ. It was great to meet you all when you were moored at the Basingstoke canal centre. Our little chat has prompted us to hire a day boat and see how we get on. Good luck and take care đđđ
It was so lovely meeting you two as well and you will have a fantastic time on a day boat go for it xx
Hi Josh Iâm following you down on the oxford canal! You said you purchased a two day river licence before you got on the Thames thought you could only get one from the lock keeper! Let me know the linkđ say hello to your mum was hoping you would return up the oxford love to meet you all âŠ
