I got so excited when they announced that we were going to go aboard the Revenge but also nervous for what this meant for Ed and Stede. I was dying at ed roleplaying owning his own inn, he was killing it until he started getting some attitude 🤣 I love how they showed us what was going on inside of Ed's head while he was knocked out and between life and death, so so cool. STEDE AS A MERMAN. STOP. I was losing it. he looked so funny 🤣 I'm so curious to see what happens now that ed is awake and stede is right there!! also, OLU AND THE QUEEN 🫢 he's blown that now lmao

I'm obsessed with ALL the music in this episode-- from the piece that's playing when Stede yeets himself into the sea (the title of which translates to "The Fool"), to the distorted version of Ed and Stede's love theme that plays when Stede has just reboarded the Revenge, to the Mozart that plays when they're ziplining back onto the ship, to the Kate Bush ... I cannot even.
Auntie apparently invented DNA-based forensics, along with the ahead-of-its-time filing system I'm convinced is the one the Library of Congress uses now. Iconic.
Also: as a hospice volunteer who spends a lot of time talking to families about how to support terminally ill loved ones, it does my heart good to see Stede sitting vigil with Ed. (Part of the reason I'm not going to get over my anger with Izzy is, lying about the crew leaving him on a beach damn near deprived Stede of a chance to say goodbye, in addition to assuring it would BE a goodbye. Most people at the end want pain management, familiar surroundings, and their loved ones. Ed deserved that, and Stede deserved (and wanted) to offer it.) I'd be emotional about this episode anyway, but if it gets a few more people to sit with their loved ones and say "I love you" while they still can, it's done a service.

This reunion was SO beautiful. The fandom imagined it for 18 months but no one came up with this. After waiting for ages, watching the first three episodes of s2 (which work like a 90 minute movie) was such a warm welcome home. Looking forward to seeing what you think of the rest of the season!
