Better Call Mike here :) Thanks for reviewing my website. Yeah, the whole reference is to Better Call Saul, but I think he was a good lawyer lol I did some research before I dediced to go for that name, lawyers do actually have a good opinion on Saul and the whole series hahaha
I get it that not all lawyers will aprove "the lack of seriousness", but I can live with that 😀 Cheers 🍻

I actually had a different design for the website, but at the end I changed it because I thought it would really look like I'm affiliated with BCS hahaha I wanted to keep the reference and to try to look serious at the same time 😂😂😂@@theartworkhub

This is a really great idea ! You could have added the "funky style" typography and colors for get a perfect reference, but good job :) !

It feels like you're relying on your own personal tastes too much. The whole "hiring managers like small text" thing. Also Ozge's pixelated image - you went straight to it and started interacting with it. Pretty sure it did its job!

Designers if you feel like ran doesn't like your portfolio while you follow design essentials dont bother because hiring managers/ people has different taste in terms of design so maybe it wont work for ran but other people hire you because they love it

The site is actually a kind of an experiment as my initial draft is a normal scrollable page, I really want to try responsive without the luxury of vertical space and sure as hell, it was difficult 😂. Probably gonna re-design in a couple months.

Yes main problem is designers design for themselves NOT for clients
I actually really like Ozge's photo interaction for her headshot. It makes me want to hover on it and reveal/see who she is.

Would be nice to know how these websites were made, Webflow, Wix, React, etc.
How the heck do you prevent orphans in webdesign? Is there a CSS property to prevent that?
There is text-wrap: balance, but that's for headings.
It's also not Indesign, but webdesign and responsive, resize your window and the orphan is gone.

I think Ozge did the pixelated image to imply she understands lazy-loading. At least that's what I would use it for. Not sure if she does or if she meant it that way though.
The effect of scrolling images at 5:41, what is it called? And how can it be done? :) Can anybody give me a bit of help or explanation there? :) Thank you in advance!

Just a little nit pick. I don't know whether you've watched Better Call Saul - but he was a great lawyer - out of the box thinking. It's just that he dealt with dodgy cases and was borderline dodgy himself ; )

Why are you against Framer?
Same question here immediately when I heard that?! Is he partnered with WebFlow and is that maybe the reason? Framer is perfectly fine for a portfolio website aside from other platforms, I'd say ...

Of course not, however - seen the "mac vs pc" ad? Apple have been working for years to create a brand that professionals / creative people use Apple devices. Using what's already in people's mind is helpful. This is psychology not "the truth"
