Burson Soloist Voyager Amp: www.bursonaudio.com/products/...
This amp is about life, energy, slam and precision. Very detailed and airy but with next level bass and punch.
LCD-5: www.audeze.com/products/lcd-5
These headphones are super light and the most comfy headphones I have ever placed on my head. The sound is rich, delicate, detailed yet full, liquid and with some warmth when used with the Burson amp. The most refined headphones I have heard to date. These, I could listen to them for hours at a time (and have). Feels like nothing is on my head at times.
Meze 109 Pro: amzn.to/3Ttm1Jt
These will even do great with an iPhone and are detailed, punchy, lifted up some in the treble and offer extreme clarity and punchy bass. Lovely for the price. Looks and comfort are great.
Verum 1: www.verum-audio.com/store
These are warm. gooey, full and fat and offer up a taste of the LCD-5 but these are darker and warmer than the 5's. For $349 and unbeatable deal.
Today I talk about a High end Headphone system vs a high end Speaker System. Which thrilled me more? Which do I use more? Today I talk about my experience with the Burson Soloist Voyager Headphone amp, Audeze LCD-5 Headphones as well as headphones from Meze and Verum.
I also share my thoughts on this system vs a comparable speaker system. Which did I enjoy more? Oh, and yes these headphones (LCD-5 and Burson) did make me cry one night when listening as I was brought back to an old memory of my Father. Listening to his favorite song before he passed really touched my heart and soul on this system, more so than even my speakers did.
Enjoy!

Welcome to the headphone rabbit hole.
Nice. I’ve been so curious about this pairing. Thank you so much. 🤝
Purchased one over a month ago & it’s been used daily since. Loving the dense tonality it presents, especially with the 1266.
I have the Burson Voyager and use that with the “cheaper” Audeze LCD-X and that works very well. But I also use the same voyager as a preamp into some 300b monoblocks and Klipsch Cornwall IV, and as an alternative option into the Burson timekeeper GT monoblocks. The all Burson system is smooth and detailed but my favourite with the Klipsch is the Burson voyager with 300b monoblocks, so smooth, lots of bass, a solid midrange and a just enough top end.
id love to hear your thoughts of the susvara using speakers amps as that headphone scales incredibly, the best ive heard it is on a diy speaker amp, you have lots of great amps which would pair well with it, id love to hear it on the maria integrated amp
Do you have a review of the Meze 109 pro? I just tried to look for it but couldnt find it. Full disclosure i didnt look THAT hard, just typed in your name and the product.
Anyway, i'd like to know your take given what you seem to like.
So the metallic timbre and treble is still there? I've owned the Soloist 3x GT and found that it sounded metallic, tinny.
Anyone have any experience with the Monoprice Planar Magnetics? Picked up 1570C closeds for $350 bucks.
Other than Burson for solid state I would recommend Violectric or Niimbus for planars - or go all out with Pass Labs First Watt, XA25 for Hifiman Susvara, Tungsten etc.
Other than that it's tubes all the way, Eddie Current, Donald North Audio, Cayin, Felix Audio etc. for dynamics like the Utopia or ZMF's, or for (modded) Sennheiser legends and moderate to efficient planars.
Give the Fostex th-900mk2 a try 💪 there is an open back model as well...
ha ha... so you want to ugrade your experience... connect a Smyth Research A16 to the Burson Soloist Voyager and then you will get a full 24 channels instead of your two channels... and you get to choose the speaker models of those 24 channels.... yep.... 24 speakers from your headphones and it is amazing... and then get the Susvara to listen too.... the Voyager drives the Susvara fine...
does this have spatial audio

🤔😂😂
Even an entry level speaker like the Klipsch RP-600M gives you a musical experience that is miles ahead of the most expensive headphone, with headphones your ears listen to the music, with speakers your entire BODY feels the music. Headphones-only people are losing 90% of the musical experience and they don't even know it and they are mostly young people.
90% is a little much
but you're right, they are losing out on a lot. theres songs out there that are actually kinda crappy, but recorded and mixed so well that it sounds AMAZING.
The 600ms are an abomination. Your ears are broken in the first place, let alone to have any authority.
@@enjoshi-godrez8775 they are amazing if you use them with tube amplification
When you are listening to speakers, you are actually to your room with speakers in it. When your listening in the headphones, you are listening music coming straight from the drivers. So technically, headphones have an edge, unless your room is perfectly treated.
There is no such thing as soundstage in your brian. A solid state amp does not increase sound stage or anything like that.
It absolutely does.
