The haka is probably the most powerful battle ritual in recorded human history
The Hakka makes you look like a crazy person. It's just so weird. Especially the facial expressions
Haka*
Exactly
@@AB-pq3oh have you ever met someone doing the haka?
Really lol No
Everybody gangsta until the Polynesians start hakaing
Hands down one of the most adrenaline pumping ceremonial dances in history. It's all fun and games until the Maori brothers and sisters start steppin'.
They know a thing or two about, being under heavy repression as are the aboriginals.
hahahah lmaaaooooo!!!!!

@IyaEarthseeds Yes💗
We Native American's know USA injustices all too well.
I’m not Naitive American but when ever I speak of the injustices to black people throughout history, and, Native American people are never far from my thoughts.
Even throughout history they knew we were to similar in our strife and struggles so we were pitted against each other.
I know BLM is about black lives, but we see your struggles to-and though I cannot speak for everyone, in my eyes you are along side us and among the people that this world needs to change for.

@Jacobo0069 your reply to this comment is irrelevant. Poor reading comprehension...
I'm Muslim from middle east I always felt native of America .I don't know why but my heart goes for you and your people.
@MR JAKE Tori Charley was talking about injustices. Ofcourse drug addiction is a whole other issue. An issue that was not being discussed in this comment thread .
I don’t know why... I don’t know anything about their culture but seeing a haka performed always makes me cry
I do know this culture, as it is my own. I am Maori living in NZ & have seen a thousand haka's .. and it makes me cry too. See, we are not so different. :)
I’m an American who has Native American ancestry, though a small percentage. My genetic makeup is primarily white. I watch hakas because they alternately fascinate and inspire me. I also tear up. I know very little about my native ancestry, as it has been diluted over time. I have no knowledge even to what tribes my ancestors belonged. I feel saddened when I realized how native Americans were nearly erased, their culture tamped down and forced to be hidden away. I am proud to be an American, but not of its legacy in terms of how non-whites were treated. America has to do better.
Me too bro me too. It's too powerful not too feel.
You are not the only one. As a black man, it is very powerful because it shows that someone sees us. It shows they care and that is priceless to me.

As a white woman in America, I appreciate that you appreciate it
I respect the black peoples stopping the white and Hispanic Antifa members from spray painting and vandalizing stores. And some are paying black people to riot and loot. It’s time for the black community to turn away from the left:
“If you are silent about your pain, they’ll kill you and say you enjoyed it.” From the Black woman writer Zora Neale Hurston. Powerful!!!

It’s so beautiful to see every ethnicity coming together to fight racism
Pep Nice u ruined a Nice moment
It is. It's so amazing
@Darren Scott no. Everyone can be racist. Sadly, I have seen racist comments from people of colour. Just because you're white, doesn't mean you're racist. But also, just because you are a person of colour, doesn't mean you are active in reducing racism. This is hard and difficult, but this is a fight against racism, constitutional, constructional racism. Racism embedded in our society. Racism embedded in our world. This is a fight against that. For a society where everyone, of every race, is treated equally and has the same opportunities as anyone else. No matter the colour of your skin.
Darren Scott no it's not
@@schoonslow Seeing this show of solidarity with another ethnicity warmed my heart but your words brought tears to my eyes. I love what you said so much. We need more people like you. We want equality for people, all people. We want to stand united and value each other's lives based on the fact that we're all human not by the color that human may be. What you said was beautiful because there is no us/them rhetoric. And it makes us all accountable. It says hey no matter what your skin color is, if you are saying things or judging people based on the color of their skin rather than the content of their character, you need to take a good hard look at yourself. But I digress. Thank you for your words. You're amazing.
The Haka gives me chills. But this is on a whole different level

Or
We can use the word proud in :I take pride in my skin colour and religion. (positive)

E tāu nei.
Āna! Āna! Āna! Aue... Hī!
ENGLISH
The leader of the group says the following:
Pay attention
Listen up, take your stance
Arms outstretched,
out and back
The rest of the group joins in with call and response:
What is right is always right!
(that's right!)
What is right is always right!
(that's right!)
Be true to yourself, my son!
You have raised my concerns, so listen up.... .
What is this problem you are carrying?
How long have you been carrying it for?
Have you got that? Right, let's go on.
So son, although it may be difficult for you. Son, although it seems to be unyielding
no matter how long you reflect on it
the answer to the problem
is here inside you.
Basically it was written by a man for his son, and although translation isn't exact due Maori and English being so different, it's a haka often used to express understanding, solidarity and respect for movements and events.
@ A more correct pronunciation of Ka mate is more like ka-mar-tear. with out dragging the A or R so you're basically just saying the TE part. probably doesn't make sense lol but saying tay is usually the way a white person would say it.
Surely cops will “fear for their lives” if they see a haka
zero1ten... nah man I don't want anybody fearing for their life
Nah man. Our cops are really good people. The police here would be in support. They would certainly support protest as well as Haka and are pretty cool with Tikanga (understandimg Maori protocol).
We have had 26 deaths from cops to citizens. If US sized would be 300. All cop related deaths result in immediate stand down till the mandatory investigation is completed.
US had 1,000 killed most years.
Our 26 is across the entire 180 years of our country.
In the U.S., yes.
most (maori) cops actually join in the Haka
I think he was being sarcastic with tha quotes
I remember watching a haka for the first time when the shootings happened at the mosque in New Zealand it was so powerful and it’s still so powerful now fighting for black lives matter thank you New Zealand so much.
I don't know why I cry everytime I watch the Haka being done.
Its just our culture speaking to yours ❤
@@Ann3Arki3 Its Beautiful
I don't know why. But always get teary eyed whenever I see the Haka performed.
It brought tears of joy to my eyes to see the women join the cultural dance at the beginning of this video. I see you and i applicate you all, men and women alike.🇺🇸
Women aren’t treated like second class people in New Zealand unlike America
@Franz Kafka To be clear Black American men and women are second class citizens in the U.S. To answer your question I'm not making this a women's right issue. There's power in unity.
Thank you so much, New Zealand
I’m here for this! ✊🏽
BLM more than deserves the Haka! I have so much respect for New Zealand!
