David Cronenberg is 79 this year. Absolute respect to him for being able to still direct movies that are unique and thought provoking.
Plot twist: it's year 2123 (right now) and he's turning... 300
Your kinda being ageist
Crimes of the Future provoked me to fall asleep and I wish I was kidding.
The soundtrack was next level. Howard never disappoints
Truely never ! I don't think he ever made something boring !
when i found out it was lord of the rings howard shore that made this i did a spit take lool. i could never have guessed he could do this cause i always thought of him as a "classical" composer.
Might make an ambient mix for it
I have to disagree, those visuals could have really become something else with a more alien soundtrack (Arca or Lotic are two names that come to mind). Now it was a bit too much of the generic, Zimmer-esque *Loud boom* *retro synth*
@@1998Cebola nah... absolutely not lol
I always find Cronenberg’s voice very soothing.
20 year old script and still this movie is ahead of its time. Loved it!
Enjoyed the movie, but bless Cronenberg thinking it's not obvious which parts were CGI.
I know 😂
The digital lighting is super off making it too obvious.
Anything is better than that fire at the end of maps to the stars
@@Dvfrzco yeah i still think about that 😅
His cg shots are most of the time obvious unfortunatly.
He's really a practical-filmaking-director...He's not david fincher...
I hope I get to 79 as sharp as Cronenberg is, he looks and sounds great.
It’s rare that the director talks more than the actors when promoting a movie.
It's been a week and this movie is still on my mind. Fantastic and so well made.
Where can I see it!
@@christianmistian6849 only in theatres right now. check your local indie theatre, it seems that’s where they’re mostly playing at. there’s a couple regal theaters around my area that is playing it also. will most likely be available digitally very soon though!
it rubbish
the movie is trash lol. don't lie to people in the comment section

My goodness I wish there was a Viggo career breakdown video!!
Lea and Virgo, really respect him as a director
the surgery instruments look and move so much better when theyre puppetered, not that uncanny smoothness when done with cgi. its so strange to see cronenberg designs done digitally, doesnt feel right.
I'm obsessed with this movie and its soundtrack. I'll never find anything that lives up to the unique feeling it gives me.
It's quite something
It’s just amazing to see David talk with such joy about this weird movie. Totally loved it
Wasnt sure I was enjoying it while experiencing it but it stayed with me ever since. It's a trip which I will take again soon !
Did you enjoy Crash first viewing?
Same reaction. I don’t know why, but I had imagined History Of Violence meets eXistence, but instead it was more eXistence, humor and all. But now I need to watch it again already lol
Aragorn aged really well.
Black don’t crack
When I say I’m obsessed with this film.. I am obsessed
I love him pointing out the obvious vfx lol like we didn't already know
Iconic moment having them on here
The deep love I feel towards these three people and this wild movie cannot be understated
Fascinating film. Was completely enthralled throughout. It has been a while since I watched something like this.
Loved it!!
She's so beautiful 😭
Super film, that asks some interesting questions. Will have to watch again to see what i missed. As is the usual with David Cronenberg's style, you either love it or hate it.
I definitely enjoyed the background score and imagery. It was quite different.
Haven't seen this movie but cool to have these three together
Best movie of the year so far. Seen it 3 times already
I can't wait to watch this
a true master of film
cronenberg is a genius
Awesome movie. Truly felt like I was taken out of reality.
Here for it (literally and metaphorically) lol
See vid titled : Does the government own your organs ?
I wish they had stuck with completely using the puppets, the computer effects were so distracting throughout. Loved the set pieces though.
11:55 HIS FACE HIS FACE
Great actors. Ill check this film out.
I was shocked and delighted by this film
These three are masters of their craft and true artists
The machinery reminds me the classic sci-fi movie "ExistenZ"
Reminded me of Engineers capsule in Prometheus
I watched last night and was ready. And boy does this film delivery without blinking. It's warning of what we're capable of if we don't pay attention. Masterwork of a master, if you have the guts.
i love them
Loved this film. Very poetic and erotic
King of the Man
LOVE Lea in Death Stranding. #imfragilebutnotthatfragile
Lea basically didnt say anything :(
AMAZING MOVIE.
Viggo! Missed ya buddy
Léa is a god
Death Stranding brought me here
I can’t tell WHAT movie it is because it’s cut off in the title, so what movie is it???????
Its the Crimes of the future.
I enjoyed this movie a lot. Unfortunately, I feel that the demographic it speaks to most loudly, most desperately, no longer have the sensory instruments to receive the messaging. I think that’s an artistic accomplishment but a nihilistic statement
You need auteur movies as well. I like it that cronenberg just like lynch still has the options to even make movies on a semi decent budget and I am glad these movies exists. I have been bored for decades with mainstream cinema so it’s great we can get something like this. Of course tv shows also nowadays have sort of merged art house with compelling stories.
@@imperialtutor8687 I agree with all that except the end!
I love lea
I'd actually want to get in touch with David. For this 12 stones discovery of mine is absolutely mindblowing and has consequences beyond historical. David the actual director of the sacred.
Would never care tho. Doesn't make a man special. >99.9999% are like that. Does this ANTI-APPRAISAL inspire?
Meow
Viggo es lo massss
BEST MOVIE OF 22
11:27 !!!
Hi. I've decoded 12 stones of the Bible (publishing soon). David is one of my favorite artists. Just it.
I didn’t enjoy the movie and I don’t think the point of the movie was to be liked or disliked I think it was to make you think and feel
No 1 let’s gooo
8:31 finally
Wheres Kristen
Reminds me of the "Happiness in Slavery" video by Nine Inch Nails.
Viggo, why!
I thought this movie was a flop. but when the main questions the movie wants you to think about are brought up and explored, it turns into a fascinating movie that makes you ask questions about the movie’s world that hauntingly parallel real world issues.
microplastics in your blood
Why even bring up if it was a flop? Who cares about that when it's a movie like this? A movie that wasn't made to be a big blockbuster.
@@MaximumCarne I meant flop as in, simply a movie and story I didn’t care for. Not so much a box office flop.
I fell asleep on the movie
wtf Aragorn
very Gigeresque
Fragile!
aragon,son of Arathon
Aragorn, son of Arathorn
Incredible sick and repugnant!
As a VFX/CG artist... the CGI is terrible here, not insane bad but low budget for sure, but cant judge because i dont know how much budget they spent for it, the models looks good and texturing as well, the composition and animation is the problem for me
I think it might be the point tho, the grotesque appearance feels deliberate and well suited imo
Bro u r no one
@@charade8065 go buy an argument, i'll wait.
Fragile
Ya your own body..but the child inside is another.
Too weird
Awesome movie but the main theme by Howard Shore was a bit meh and overplayed at the beginning. Loved the more industrial moments in the score, especially in the Sark scene, but not so much the main theme with the horn section.
I actually quite like that horn motif. It’s incredibly brooding and eerie. I do, however, agree that it was overused in the opening of the film. Hearing it during the opening titles, Djuna crying on the toilet, and Lang crying next to Breckens body, all one after another was a little odd.
Is that not Scarlet Johansson!???????????
How can Cronenberg make a film which is so unambiguous about the political implications of what an individual does with their body, then turn around and talk, without any irony, about how what someone does with their bodies doesn't affect anyone else.
Wtf?
Looks like both actors are clueless about this movie.
They just needed the paycheck!
You can tell what is CGI. It's not the best looking, graphics wise.
I like it, adds to the vibe of the movie imo
See vid titled Does The Government Own Your Organs . on Liberty and Finance channel... probably formerly known as reluctant prepper channel .
Then see one called Pt . 2 : Three Case histories of Patients declared Brain-dead Recovering. ( ANON Z channel)
conspiracy theorist Alert!
you might enjoy Tales of the Organ Trade, a documentary on organ trafficking narrated by Cronenberg.
I thought this movie was going to be interesting... I didn't expect it to be a good cure for insomnia
So not a marvel movie then? 🐓
and?
Cronenberg is a weird dude, y’all.
This is so boring for something sinister. There's seems to be some kind of uncomfortable joke going on and they are still performing somewhat. I didn't see enough of a scene. It didn't feel genuine, so it was boring.
Looks like a really weird film and I won’t be watching it. The world has gone mad!!!!!!!
Poor kid
No one asked
What purpose did it serve to change their names around? So childish! My kids do that, they’re 9 and 6. Cmon y’all are too old for that
Yo Can you chill, Kelly?
It's just having fun. Stop being so uptight about nothing.
that movie is just suffocatingly pretentious.
I don't care how politely spoken or well-to-do the, um, creative team here is - the film is airless, it lacks context or dynamic, it lacks conflict, it lacks emotional connection and the patina of pseudo-medical, pseudo-artistic jargon is so pretentious BECAUSE each time cast members get to utter chunks of dialogue (not actual character dialogue, just paragraphs of stuff that Cronenberg thinks) it constantly bears witness to a poorly structured, poorly motivated story. Matters made worse because the leads in the film have to appear emotionally committed to an endless series of 'dramatic events' with tears in their eyes, gravel in their voice, reduced to a mere whisper but the story is so laughably PRETENTIOUS and disconnected it doesn't actually connect to viewers. An awful excuse for a boring horror movie, zero "world-building" (movie jargon for the stuff you feel you actually know or believe after watching the film) and no character arc. The visual metaphors are utterly student-level and the drama has no emotional impact.
Cronenberg has made a LOT of films that lose money - couldn't they hand these funds to an actually worthwhile cause of some kind? What an embarrassing, flat piece of moviemaking. Ugh.
agree 100%
pretentious garbage
Not nearly as pretentious as your incoherent ramble, but to each there own I suppose.
You're trying to make the movie into something it wasn't trying to do.
