I gotta tell ya a story about my camping experience. The gf and i bought a 1980 Coleman popup. We got it all checked out and we ventured our to the County Park. We didn't get there till after dark, about 10:30. I had to back my "rig" into my camp site. That was no fun... and the neighbors all knew it... Well, the gf must have been real impressed that I was able to find, back into, and setup the camper - all by myself. Because as soon as we were all nestled in, she wanted to... welll ... lay some on me.
Pretty much at the height of passion, the two little spindly sticks under the Queen Sized bed spindled out and CRASH! The front of the camper flipped up and we went rolling out the back -- buck nekid! Yep, after about 3 minutes of trying to climb back in the way we fell out, we finally bit the bullet and streaked around to the door.
I hope y'all have at least as much fun as we did.
We took up bowling after selling the camper.

Well how about you three there. I bet bear would love to get a squirrel. I like this video for a change, vanning around in the Wilderness Park. You're not driving that fast to worry about a seatbelt. Quit being so picky you viewers. All the Comforts 0f home in the woods, that I like. Most everybody likes campfires. That was fun watching you both. Love your channel, been watching it for years. Would be great to see you guys plugging the small businesses and not the big chains. The small guys are struggling right now and could use the love. There are apps like Harvest Hosts that have campsites you can stay at that are on private properties that often have attractions or small businesses on them. Technically you guys are running a small business with your channel so supporting the other small guys would be cool to see. Safe travels!

This is a comment that I've wanted to leave for quite some time . First let me say that you two are great and great for each other. You did an interview with BOAB a few years ago because they wanted your secret for success. Why is it that you are short timers but have soo many subscribers. They were thinking it was the T&A, not so ! It helps that Kristin is gorgeous, you're OK too Mateo but that is not the reason for success.. I think it is consistency. You guys are one of VERY few that will work for a new episode EVERY week and your subscribers notice the little things. We also know that getting an episode out every week is no "little" thing. Keep up the excellent work. Who knows maybe this epic adventure will provide the perfect spot for you guys to get married, but you gotta to be looking !! I'm certain you will get a lot of perverted comments but think this is the only time I can recall a shot of you two in the rack. But then again, I can't recall every seeing you guys kiss either. I feel certain that is something Utube recommends you avoid.

first tip. let you power cord lay on the ground so long as its in good shape and not cut or damaged as you dont want water to run down the cord and into the socket.

Btw, if you're van is 2 wheel drive, don't park on the dirt road because once it starts raining, it'll get muddy then you will get stuck unless you upgrade the van at a place call "sandy vans" in oregon, they can make it 4 wheel drive, jack up the van and even add a wench in the front bumper so you never get stuck in the mud.

Watching you set up your windshield sun shade reminded me of a story:
My wife's sister got her first "real" job in the city. It was summertime and she had to park her car each day in a public parking lot. She bought one of those shades to cover her windshield so the inside of the car wouldn't be quite so hot in the afternoon when she got off work. It so happened that her sun shade had like a reflective coating on one side, and the other side was emblazoned with big letters that spelled out "NEED HELP CALL POLICE". Well, she would always put it up so that the "CALL POLICE" sign faced out.
It turns out that she thought it was like a public service announcement! Like, if you need help then you should call the police!

That is crazy, we were just at Stone Mountain in June!!!! We recommend Hipcamp for finding affordable places to park the RV with fewer people. Campendium is also useful. You have probably already left the area but Raccoon Mountain Campground has a cave near it and you can do a wild cave tour. You wear helmets and climb through the cave with a guide. I really think y’all would enjoy it. We are currently doing the RV life with hopes of sailing life in the future. Have fun!!!!

You guys passed right near where I live. Georgia has 6 venomous snake spices so please watch out for snakes when you are out walking. There is a nice camp ground that my wife and I go to near us at Lake Juliette.The camp ground is Dames ferry campground.Quiet and relaxing. It is regulated so no jet skis or large boats.Have fun you two!!!!
Being a person who grew up camping ,hunting and fishing in the outdoors in Oregon my entire life I found watching you guys hilarious about how little you know about the outdoors . I'd most likely be in the same boat if you put me on a sailboat and expected me to know what to do. Just embrace the adventure an I think you will have a great time once you get past the learning curve. I could give you some pointers but half the fun is learning as you go and be able to laugh at yourself when you mess up the first time. Good luck ,have fun and try not to get hurt. Matt there no shame in asking other campers for help ,most folks will be more then happy to help out an you may make some new land lubber friends along the way.

I grew up camping and very much love. I've also taken my kiddos camping as it's a great way to get away and spend quality family time together. May I ask, you made reference to Matty Jr? Very happy for you two as always! Love the videos and even this Van Life offshoot. Can you keep track of expenses and help share post trip? Would be very helpful to a lot of viewers I would think. I recently sold my RV (travel trailer). I put it towards my boat fund and am working on a 24' sailboat for the lake (to gain experience, still enjoy family time, and looking to live the sailing dream in retirement). Wish you two the best always!!!

Kristen, there are laws in the US of A that require seatbelts when on a public roads. I know that may not apply in the campground, but it does elsewhere. At least Matt was strapped in.

Hi Kristen and Matt, you got a number of comments about not driving without a belt, well who needs one when you're driving that slow in a van part. Cute little deer. A number of commenters mentioned also about not liking your van Park episodes for a month. I think this episode was great for a change as you all had mentioned in your last.
And a lot of people have dirty minds about the fire and Hot Dog episode. I enjoyed it a lot and building a fire on a slope wasn't kosher, what nitpicking, G. Oh well you're always going to get those kind no matter where. I just enjoyed your ride wandering through the landscape. I was wondering about there and then I saw him and love him.
I'm a few videos behind so seeing this pop up was a shock. From what I get scrolling though the last video it's temporary, would hate to see the boat go.
Camouflage netting works. I also have levelling wedges and chocks for wheels, Often there is little level ground once you get out of civilization. I also keep a sack of charcoal in case I need to cook outdoors on my little collapsible stove while not being obvious. On the side of mine I have a pull out awning--great for sitting under if it does decide to rain, and you will need mosquito repellent. I also have Jiffy irons--one opens them and puts buttered bread in them butter-side to the iron, then puts whatever filling you like in there. Close the handles and clip them together, then put the iron in the embers--soon you will have a treat. Fruit loaf and canned apple make a nice little pie--serve it with custard--or cream. The cast iron ones are the best--aluminium heats up too quickly, but it is OK if you can not get anything else. Ok with bacon and eggs in them too--but I mainly use them for sweet treats and grill steaks, chops or snarlers (sausages) with mashed potatoes. Camp oven bread--but of course that is only if you are staying more than one day--because it takes about three hours minimum to prepare. I have a bread maker on my trailer, so I can make my bread as I drive--but I am a crazy bastard. When you arrive at end of day fresh baked bread goes down well, It is OK for breakfast too--except they are not exactly silent in operation.
I love my travel. I do carry a shotgun in a locked compartment. The barrels have three inch chambers. I have a few cartridges each of birdshot, buckshot and a few rifled slugs. You should be safe, but there are predators out there and not all of them have four legs. A stainless type painted in camo colours is good, and less likely to rust when back aboard.
I actually used to work in the hanger that bucee kept his jet in. He started with one small gas station near lake Jackson Texas. His fortune was made by keeping very clean gas stations. He did well for himself.

This is a great concept two people we love and are comfortable with experiencing things in the states we also have experience with sceen thru new eyes. I say bring it on do it all just do not worry about the dead dolphin whatever will be will be, experience the now, live for today, go visit relatives, complete bucket list items.

Loves is my fav road stop. I did Van Life in the 90s. There were state parks you could camp free, nice folks it was fun back then. Nothin is free any more.
We just traveled to Atlanta from Tampa and we stopped at Buc-ee's on the way. I couldn't believe my eyes, the place was like no other store ever, so many people and goodies, yum!

Oh how I love the wilderness and deer and water, and yes biscuits on a stick are amazing! But you need to go to Wal-Mart or a home depot, and buy a closet rod dowel, form your biscuit over the end, roast it til cooked without losing it in the fire, pull it off and you now have a cup you can fill with strawberry squeeze bottle jam, or honey, or any delightful topping! So frig gen yummy!❤❤ Have fun you 2!! Love ya's!

😀😂🤣 Is this ever going to be good. For us experienced RV people you are bringing back memories of our learning experiences. You need to make a stop at Camping World for a few items like hot dog cooking rods! 😀 Rather than telling you too much I think that I will just sit back and watch the fun of your learning curve. After a week you will be doing things a lot differently. Have a ball and thanks for taking us along with you. I really had some good laughs watching you today. A month from now you will enjoy this again also.
