That was so funny….we could literally see how freezing you were and 70 is not freezing. Get outta dodge before it actually gets cold. We had that stretch in the Midwest this winter that was -35 to -55. It was near death experience for us and the dogs who wouldn’t go on walks. Couldn’t blame them.

Nice that you featured Michigan and Mackinaw Island in your videos. 70 degrees is warm for us Michiganders. It doesn’t seem to feel cold here until the temps get below 30.
I foresee Geek Squad van stickers becoming a big hit on Etsy! It's so interesting to see your perspectives being on land vs being on water. You are definitely more comfortable on the water it seems. Land has too many cautionary obstacles. One would think it would be the other way around. Excellent video, never miss an episode.

so glad you guys stopped in my neck of the country. Mackinaw island is a beautiful place. I run one of the Hotels on the island! They call the UP gods country. It just has so much beautiful scenery.

Today I learned a useful tip from Matt about van life at Cracker Barrel or any location for that matter about safety and knowing what is in your near vicinity. Inspecting the area of your camping spot is definitely an advisable thing to do.

Yeah, wheels are a thing that is often stolen off of parked vehicle right on the streets. You're wise not washing the wheels. Grungy is often good .. LoL..be safe always from the Philippines 💞
When I was 21 I left nyc on a bike. In Ca I traded for a 1965 Vw bus, built in a bed and cabinets, and headed to see all the national parks. Met a girl, got a kitty, and hit the road. Worked a bit in socal. We parked in used car lots, camp grounds for , Vw dealers, or even on the street. 1200 bucks lasted 6 months before needing to work. Went to all but 3 of the 48. That was in 1982. Now I sail but sometime take my pop up camper for a run.
I'm really liking this van life series you all. Because your personalities are really shining through. Not that they don't with the sailing series but you all just seem more relaxed. Of course I can't wait till you get back on the water. I guess this is kind of like a vacation. That's the vibe I get anyway. Keep em coming. Love the channel.

I use to laught at people in Fl telling me at 70 degrees they look for jackets. Now I am one of them since 2017 lol. When I was young million years ago we use to put pennies on train tracks and see how long they will stretch. Now back to video.

Loved this insightful episode. Not all vanlifers, I that I've seen, will show you a walk around their spot to inspect the area. This is important for your safety. Just because what you can see is all nice and shiny, what's behind the bushes may not be! And if you are in Florida, there are alligators. I will NOT go into springs, creeks, rivers and even the ocean near small islands because of this. Always be wary. Matt has a whole lot of common sense, likely from experience. You learn well that way. Thanks for sharing, this was a very good one!😊❤
Tip: Hotel with large parking and free breakfast. Enter the hotel with your PJ for early morning breakfast, never fails.

Hey Man! Once you acclimatize to the Caribbean you realize that hell is not hot, it is cold…dodging hurricanes, replacing engines, dragging anchors and all the maintenance a vessel needs…I rather do that than having to put up with traffic, worrying about vagrants, parking/camping spaces and the rest of the chaos living on the mainland is associated with. Great and inspiring videos! Thanks for sharing. Can’t wait to see you back in the water.
The bridge is one of the best I ever been on. I went under it in my sailboat once and drove across it on a motorbike once with 80 mph gusts, man that will give you a adrenaline buzz more than riding out a hurricane in Florida
Absolutely loved you guy's perspective on RV/Van life. I've been RV'ing for a few years and later bought a sailboat only to find that it wasn't for me as a lifestyle. I did enjoy sailing though. Seems like you two are more suited for the seas. Cool that you tried both!
Also, shoutout to that CB! I've been there countless times. It's a popular spot in the cooler months. There are some homeless but they keep to themselves.
You'll be glad you didn't stay though. It's at the end of a runway used by the coast guard. If you've never had a C130 fly over your head first thing in the morning ya surely would have shat the bed!

The van life extended.. On long trips , Alaska to Ushuaia, every couple of weeks check into a hotel. Full up, eat out, wash the laundry, recharge, upload videos..

I literally just did a trip to Tampa and Sarasota area to check it out and did a car camping trip. Some of that area is hard to car camp in due to the laws about people sleeping in cars there, but I honestly loved that area. I can't wait to go back.

As a native 53 yr old Floridian I can say that I've swam with gators all my life. You respect them but don't fear them. I wade fish all the time and the only rule is that when you see one you keep your eye on them while you fish. Especially when you catch your fish and tie the stringer to your belt loop.

Did you guys climb Castle Rock? My grandfather used to climb that rock back in the day before Eby purchased the property and put up the stairs. They now reside in a family cemetery (RIP) off of US-2 in beautiful Epoufette Mi. Beautiful country. Looking forward to be up there in the next week!

We lived in our camper van for 8 months. I do miss our boat... not so much during storms though. Van life is alot easier 😊

I am headed to Boyne City this week. You should check out that area. Lake Charlevoix and Walloon Lake are gorgeous. Plenty of golf courses and biking trails.

I just wanted to thank you guys for all the content you provide, and let you know y'all have inspired me. I just bought a 1980 Catalina 22 that I will be using to learn to sail and it will be a practice run for the future. my wife and I are planning on buying a bigger boat and cruising once we get some experience.

I was born in Michigan and have been there before. I walked out on the Mackinaw Bridge the day it opened. Beautiful Country. Great place for a family reunion. Glad your back in Florida. I'm a little surprised you aren't gonna have that gater for dinner. Great decision to not stay in that place over night.
Follow your gut. I'm sure you miss the boat and your sweet fur baby.
