North Bend Rail Trail stretches 72 miles across north-central and western West Virginia. This wilderness path takes travelers across 36 bridges and through 11 tunnels and is part of the 5,500-mile American Discovery Trail, which spans the length of the United States.
The trail has become one of the most renowned recreational trails through the Appalachians and is known for its mountainous scenery and varied views of shaded tree canopies, rock cuts, and farmland. Highlights include a 2,297-foot tunnel and the "haunted" Silver Run Tunnel. This 3 Day bike trip was amazing!

I just got one like a month ago and my longest run so far is 40 miles my back was on fire lol once I sat down, but when I threw a heating pad on I was right back to normal again. I love it.
Wow 40 miles is impressive that is not easy
Ty for having the majority of the camera pointed ahead at the scenery its wonderful!
Thank you for watching Lost I hope you watch more of my channel I got little better over the years 😁
That looked like "Tour de France" speeds on that downhill at the beginning. Nice.
Thank you for watching buddy 🙏
Yes, I do believe I hear a bit of Matthew McConaughey in your speech and accent. Smile….
lol thank you for watching 🙏
All right, all right all right lol

I'd be complaining about those gates.
Super not necessary at all!
We have a rail-to-trail here as well, and we have gates to keep vehicles out.
Our gates only go halfway across the trail.
Perfectly stopping all vehicles, yet all bikes pass with wide clearance.
Good point! Definitely a beautiful trail. That’s not easy to navigate.Lol
@FireandIceOutdoorGear
Beautiful is an understatement.
Our trail here are beyond beautiful as well.
I'd think all you would have to do is show a compilation video of what you have to do to get around the barriers to any state level political person/persons.
@AdventureswithB.O.B. I don’t mind driving. Where is this located?
@@FireandIceOutdoorGear
Missouri
@FireandIceOutdoorGear
I'm in Columbia Missouri
What a pain in the A$$ to deal with all those gates across the trails. I know they want to keep vehicles off but they could come up with something a little different. I guess you should of packed bolt cutters too😅
Tell me about it
Hoping to see a trip on the Lamoille Valley rail trail in Vermont which is opening this spring. I love your channel and I appreciate how responsive you are to questions and comments.
I would love to do that trip I’ll look it to it .
Thank you for watching Janet 🙏

What a cool trip I will try to get up there this summer ❤️
What a trip!!
Thank you , y’all products is awesome !
I am LOVIN' these vids Barry! Looks like another trail I want to do!! You know, I may do the Greenbrier each way from the middle like you did here at some point instead of trying to get a shuttle. You do get a different perspective heading the opposite direction on a trail. I absolutely loved the bridges and tunnels on this one! Looks like you got into some inevitable repair work on the trail for this trip AND you came prepared with 2 batteries. Looking forward to your other days on this trail. Jeff
This is one of the best trails I have done. Thank you for watching Jeff!
Honeysuckle Trees that smell so good.
I 💯 agree
Out of curiosity, and having honeysuckle on my fence line I researched honey suckle , here is what googly shows….. There are three types of honeysuckle - vines, shrubs and a bush variety. Honeysuckle Vines. The honeysuckle vine is a common, simple-to-grow climber that's available in many varieties. Vines can also be planted as ground cover, but they're most often trellis-trained to cover walls and structures.
Well I just leaned something new …..love the aroma but know of a few folks that are just allergic to honeysuckle as many are to poison ivy / oak.
Beautiful trail, thanks for bringing us along. On to part two.
Thank you for watching 🙏
2:00 West Virginia, mountain mama country roads take me home🎼
Beautiful place 😁
Great watch mate, you got this ebikepacker interested 🤔
I'll look into your other videos.
With gratitude peace and harmony ☮️
It’s a blast thank you for watching 🙏
Couldn’t help but notice you had some trouble getting around some of the gates at the street crossings. Trailer seemed low enough to go under. Why not disconnect, bring the bike around and connect back up with the bike on the other side? Seems like it would have been easier in a few cases. Loved the video!
I don’t think there’s a wrong answer there. It’s hard to take it on and off.
Thank you for watching. I appreciate you and your comment.
That was awesome Barry, I love that trail you were on, my kinda trail...
The tunnel drone shots were wicked and opening the secret door in the tunnel was well funny. I love your rig, bike and trailer look the dogs nuts.
when im out riding myself, im kinda a solo rider, not into going with anyone else, but if I were ever to go with someone else, you would be my wingman for sure.
I’m down whenever you’re ready, buddy 😁
What a so cool trip with Addmotor e-bike!
This Ebike it truly made for all-terrain I was so impressed how will it performed !
I ride a Catrike Dumont Trike and love it but with the way they have the gates it would suck.
I 💯agree
This looks like so much fun!!
It is and so beautiful out there
Thank you for watching
Gracias por compartir tus vídeos. Un saludo desde España.
CZcams did not translate it into English. I don’t know what you’re saying. Can you translate it for me?
I got a good deal on a 26" fat tire 36v 500 watt motor used in fact the frame was totaled , the guy had cut orr the seat post so he could get seat a little lower so got it for 500 abd already had reballanced his battery so it worked good . i have since had to ballance it 3times so got anew bms and now working fine . i have 1500 miles on it in 7 months , not bad for s disabled person who can barely walk . I love your videos and got a trailer and realized quick its a challenge to get it between post and bolders as I'm seeing your having that problem too.
Thank you Debohannan for watching I’m proud of you , your killing those miles 😁
Not bad content. If I may have a couple of suggestions. A wind sock for sure. Editing needs improvement. The drone shots need some work. For me personally stick to no more than 30 minutes on the video length.
You’ve got something there just needs ironing.
Hope you don’t mind me saying. I’ll click subscribe and look forward to some more content.
Absolutely not your amazing. I love this type of coaching. This video was two years old and I’ve done over 600 videos now I’d love to see your thoughts on some videos that are a little bit more current. I’ve done my best to try to improve over the years but man keep it coming. This is awesome.
I know that area in WV!
It’s one of the best trails I have cycled
They have gates instead of posts so they can get trucks on trail for maintenance
Hey, fellow adventurers! Thanks for watching my latest video 🌲🚵♂️ What was your favorite part of the adventure? And where should I explore next? Your suggestions might just be my next destination! 🗺️✈️ Looking forward to hearing from you all!"
Washington State, Idaho, and Oregon have many bike trails and scenic road trips. I recommend the Olympic Discovery Trail; we also have several Rails to Trails. I'm on Whidbey Island, and many backroads have less vehicular traffic. Nearby are the San Juan Islands and Camino Island, with British Columbia not far off. Washington State offers so much diverse geography depending on what part of the state you are in. I highly recommend the Palouse region. We are a very bike-friendly state, but I will warn you that there are cycling/bike snobs here who don't want e-bikes on "their" trails.
@@MegUSN52 that sounds awesome. I’ll need to check that out.🙏
Have you considered a Burley Flatbed instead of the one you use. Much lighter and just as strong.
Once again, I love watching you. Are the trails closed? What does that mean when the barriers are being put across the course. Would they give you grief?
Thank you for watching buddy.
The barriers are for car and 4 wheelers this trail is for bikes and hikers .
🙂

I love mine 💯
Biggest problems with the more powerful E-bicycles. Is less range. You get more power for starting punch. But nowhere near range.
I focused on bringing my Hyper E-Ride of a balance between that and keeping to the basic 36volt platform. With this. I get good speed, power, and range. I slapped a 36volt 30ah LIFEP04 cell in the trailer i haul and i can do about 100miles (Or more) with the front 500watt 36volt hub motor it has. Or likely get 2 or 3times more range using the stock 250watt 36volt hub. Though later plan to swipe the rear for a mid-drive 500watt 36volt and add another battery to the mid-frame in a cargo bag (with a 36volt 12ah cell) and upgrade the stock 36volt 7.8ah cell to a 36volt 10.4/10.5ah cell. Maybe even spank another 36volt 30ah LIFEPO4 again for more range and also use it as a power battery for electronics by hopefully finding a converter to deconvert it from 36volt down to 12volts and hooking that up to a inverter/DC 12volt system to run power stuff off it. Since it's 36volt 30ah. That'd up it to 90ah at 12volts. Giving loads of power for stuff to run on it.
My Hyper E-Ride's been the biggest fun i had making a monster out of a standard Walmart E-bike from 645$ to a insane dual battery, dual motors, dual throttle controller cargo hauler, cruiser style ride feel, to a monster off-road mountain XC bike. And still looking pretty basic in it's bicycle fashion.
Still nice bike. Beefy looking and probably pretty good with those fat tires. Won't be scared of driving in thick dirt and snow with those badboys.
Thank you for watching buddy
11:50 - my man just straight up opened a door to the hub of the backrooms in a secret tunnel :)
Lol thank for watching 🙏
I believe that the reason why the City or County, Put a Gate on every Bike Trail, so Cars would not Drive on the Trail.
You are exactly right thank you for watching Jo100
@@FireandIceOutdoorGear You are Welcome 😊
@@FireandIceOutdoorGearBut what is the reason vehicles can’t be on the trail?
@@SiohvanSings it’s designed for walking and bike riding, but there is vehicles that go on it to do trail maintenance
Great video! Don't you worry some one might steal your bike or other stuff when you leave it? What do you do to protect against theft?
Great question and one I don’t have a answer I’m to trusting and think all people are good . I do have a bike lock 🔐 that I never is 🤦♂️ and when I eat at a restaurant I sit by a window 🪟 so I can see the bike 🚴. Thank you so much for watching 🙏 and the great questions 🤝
Great video, why was the gates locked
It’s winter time
Why don’t you explain why those barriers are on the trail and why they can’t be opened. You detoured around them. That’s crazy!
They are there so cars or ATV don’t go on the trail.
Is there a lot of places to camp overnight along the trail?
In certain areas there is I did have an issue trying to find campsite once I got to a certain spot on the trail
Maybe going under the bar, tilt the bike
Thank you for watching 9am 🕘
I am looking for a two to three day organized bike tour. Does anyone have recommendations?
I have a friend of mine that does tours from Miami to the end of the keys it’s roughly around 180 miles and he supplies bikes and van support all the way down. Would you be interested in that?
You can go to my CZcams page and click on my Instagram or my Facebook page and you can message me directly. I might have some free options as well. That would be pretty fun.
Great video my braddah! May i ask how much is your overall bike-trailer-rider weight is? Also: What is your total battery capacity? Love your videos....Thank you.
The trailer by itself or with gear?
With gear easily over 100 Ib the battery is a 17 ah but I brought 2 to double my riding.
AB thank you for watching and comment please if you have any questions let me know 😉
@@FireandIceOutdoorGear with gear and weight of bike with rider and gear on bike? Im trying to compare my total weight to yours then figure the battery power im gonna require.
With this setup I can go 80 miles but if I take a 20ah battery and that 2 of them I can go 100 to 110 on pedal assist 2. I’m 6’ 200Ib and the bike it about 70Ib
Thanks for the great video. We have two lectric 3.0 bikes. We want to stay on the trails overnight where there is no power. I know you mentioned solar. I’ve looked at your link also. But really don’t understand how to power the bike. Are you using the solar (charging an extra battery in the trailer) during the day when you’re riding your bike? If so, purchasing an extra battery is not in our budget right now.
I think on this video I did have an extra battery but I have done trails were I just stayed at a airbnb or hotel and also a campground for the power. Thank you for watching 🙏
If you have 1000 watt or higher portable electric power bank it could charge ONE battery overnight. You’d have to have a trailer to carry one that big so the logistics and cost are a factor.
What water filtering bottle do you use?
Hey Hawg thank you watching I use the Katadyn B free it’s awesome
Where is this??? Coming from Cincinnati!
This is in Virginia, and one of the coolest trails I have ever been on and it’s not well promoted and I feel like I didn’t do that. Great of documenting it. I’m hoping to go back soon, but I hope you enjoyed it.
Can you show how to attach the trailer to your bike please.

What's the name of the red trailor insert. I'm interested. Thank you
It was on Addmotors website but there out of stock but this trailer is a good one amzn.to/3xmmDoS
Why do they block off trails make a little bigger for bikes
I don’t know but it sucks lol thank you for watching
I'm 73 and refuse the e-system, can will pedal my Catrike Dumont Trike for as long as I can. I have fought off the MAC Disease and now Pancreatic Cancer with Whiffel Surgery and now Chemotherapy. They haven't put this Vietnam Marine Veteran down yet.
I’m glad your heathy brother 🙏
Not to sure still have 7 treatments of Chemotherapy Treatment to go but not giving up.
Try natural path doctor
Have you ever rode an ebike?
Hope your doing good 👍
Why do the dummies have a gate? Did they close down the trails? If they did, they didn't make it noticeable. If not what a stupid system.
They are having cars and UTV on the trail
@@FireandIceOutdoorGear but why not huge post so big that bikes and trike can get through.
@@SFCRambo60 I don’t know 🤷♂️
They have gates instead of posts so they can get trucks on trails for maintenance
