Idk how I feel about that honestly, like ofc I'm happy but after the things he's said about his time in the band and what he thought of one direction and their songs in general, I'd rather him not sing/cover any of it. I may sound harsh but tbh, I can still remember how heartbroken I was when all this got known to me, all i could keep thinking was how could someone sound so ungrateful (for the lack of better terminology) (im not stressing on the word ungrateful here, I just wanna say that the interview had so many statements suggesting his lack of interest in being in the band) about something which boosted the said man's entire career (which also makes me wonder, why did he leave the band in 2015 when he said that he wanted to leave the band "from the first year really" or smtg along those lines?). It just sounded so selfish you know, he was in it till the time he got his fame and left and went on to trash the same life he had lived for 5 years. It felt unreal, and no, I'm not upset about him leaving the group, it was his call and I'm glad he took the decision taking into account his own mental well being. But, going on to say that he was never close with anyone in the band (specifying harry here), 1ds music was generic, he felt out of place and wanted to leave from the very first year and all that, idk how to feel abt all of this.
So yeah, I'm glad he's finally taking time out of his life to think about the time he basically didn't wanna live through. (Wow why do i sound so sarcastic here, I don't mean to ofc)
Also, I'm an ot5 so pls don't come at me saying I have wrong theories up in my head or that I'm going up against zayn or that zayn wasn't ungrateful and that I'm the crazy one here. These are my thoughts, I don't like how zayn made one direction feel as if it were a jail. I did stay up at nights wishing zayn would come back and complete 1d and then boom, I get to see the interview. I still shudder thinking of the day ngl.

@@malvikajha3912 i mean his perspective could have changed hes grown as a person so he might not feel that way about the music anymore and i think his feelings were valid to have while in the band because he wasn't feeling well physically and mentally. he did try his best to stay in the band for the fans but then decided what was best for him. Zayn was still apart of one direction and he loved the boys but not the fact that he couldn't be himself in the band and help write the music. Alao, Zayn didn't owe the fans anything while being in a memtally and physically ruined place. so i would say to give him a chance.

A word of appreciation for Liam... For being such a darling and picking the best and a variety of songs to sing instead of just the popular songs or the songs he wrote. He also makes it sound the most original. After all he was the best harmoniser in the band.

Hiii, i just found this video and i cried 🤧 even though they sang separately but it was beautiful, eveb they solos now they still part of 1D and still caries that through their concerts and bring back memories to the fans. Been fans of them since 2013, was still in junior high school and i can say it's been part of my teenage days lol (i'm 24 now)

Feel so sad for Zayn..... he's missing his bros and don't know how to bridge the gap. He left them all angry and insulted. I pray that Louis would recognize his cry for help and be the bigger man and go get him. I believe Zayn would heal then. You really can't outrun your conscience.
Zayn didn't insult anyone when he left by the way. He left for his mental health and wellbeing due to the poor treatment from management he received as well as racism and islamophobia from so called 1D fans.

Zayn isn't missing anyone, he's just as entitled to sing 1D songs as the others, and the songs he sang were one's he co-wrote.
As a result of his 30 second clip of Night Changes the song received its highest ever daily steaming numbers. That's the power of Zayn just causally singing it on his farm and not on a stage in front of anyone.

@@kaa9279 LOL keep telling yourself that. How many artists with more instagram followers then Zayn have sang a 30 second snippet of a song and the result is that it blows up the way it did. That's his global reach and world class vocals that did that.
@@ebonyqueen5873 I agree with your points, Zayn does not need anyone saving him because his fine on his own. But lets not exaggerate his global reach or power to blow up a song. Night changes is a good nostalgic song, its streams increased because directioners has been waiting for Zayn to sing 1D songs for the longest time. Coupled with the controversial Liam interview, Zayn now has Directioners sympathy.
But without the directioners support, we all know Zayn is not doing good. His 2nd and 3rd albums flopped, very low sales on the first week and did not even chart. His latest singles Better and Vibes also didn't make noise. The only thing keeping Zayn relevant is the success of his first album in 2016 and some collabs in 2017.
1D songs will continue to do well in streams regardless of Zayn singing it or not but Zayn cannot sell his music better without the directioners support.
