- I headed to West Texas for my 3rd try for DIY Aoudad. It all finally came together on this hunt. The rams were rutting so finally was able to find a group of sheep with a couple rams. After a 303yd shot I brought home a beautiful ram.

You can actually get a tag for Texas Bighorn if you are lucky enough, I believe its 3 tags a year and 1 of those is a raffle ticket prize
Yeah, I apply for the TX bighorn tag every year.
@@SClivingOutdoors I do the raffle every year but save from entering the normal draw since it already cost me an arm and a leg applying in the higher odds states

Hey man awesome video! I have a question about your truck bed camper. How did it handle in the Nissan Frontier? I'm worried if I build one and put it in the bed it will greatly eat up gas mileage, bottom out suspension, etc.. I've already built it and its on a crappy harbor freight trailer. My best guess is that its around 400 lbs? maybe even 500. I used 3/4 plywood for the bottom and 1/2 for the walls so its pretty hefty but the same dimensions as yours.
It hurt my gas mileage some but I don’t remember how much. Mine wasn’t that heavy. I think I used 1/2” everywhere. The camper in the bed just didn’t leave me enough room for coolers. 500lbs definitely won’t bottom out the suspension. Frontiers have a payload capacity of close to 1500lbs. I just came back towing my mini camper and I had 3 coolers with an elk, mule deer, aoudad and all my gear etc.
@@SClivingOutdoors Nice man! Yeah I built it last year and make annual trips to the NC mountains to deer hunt. On my two trips so far something has broken on the trailer so I have lost my patience and confidence with it. No way do I feel comfortable taking the HF trailer out west. I'm considering either doing the truck bed thing or putting it on a Lowes trailer like yours. Thanks for making these videos you and a few other youtubers inspired me to build it. Definitely beats a tent for sure. Just wish I had chosen/built a better trailer platform.
