Anything Gong, Planet Gong, Pierre Moerlens Gong (DOWNWIND!!!!!) - Mother Gong (Robot Woman!!), New York Gong, Guru & Zero / Acid Mother Gong and tons of Daevid Allen, Tim Blake (His first Two!!!!!), Steve Hillage solo is AWSOME. Except that 80s Gongmaison LP and Gong - Shapeshifter, those two sucks. For the old school "Only Radio Gnome Trilogy and Camebert" Pffff, Check out Gong - Acid Motherhood (HOLY SHIT !!) , and the two album after Daevid left this world : Rejoice! I'm Dead! and The Universe Also Collapses is so HIGHLY reccomended !!!!!!!

Camembert Electrique and Flying Teapot are my two favorite Gong albums. Which is not to say that I dislike Magik Brother, Continental Circus, Angel Egg or You. But these are the two I always go back to when the mood hits me for Gong. There's also Gong Live from 1977 which is another great listen. I like their post D.Allen output as well. To me, Gong may not be the first but they are the best hippie commune band of its time.

Seems you have missed out on ALOT of other superb albums (Gazeuse, Expresso II, Downwind, Time is the Key, New York Gong, Gilly Smyth - Mother, Mother Gong - Robot Woman, First 2 Tim Blake, Steve Hillages first 5, Zero to Infinty, Acid Motherhood, and the 2 after Daevid died. ALL MASTERPIECES !

May 25, 1973 were one hell of a day : Virgin released 4 Lps, and all masterpieces : Mike Oldfield`s Tubular Bells, The Faust Tapes, Gong’s The Flying Teapot and the Manor Live (With Ian Wallace, Marc Charig, Ollie Halsall, Graham Bond, Boz Burrel, Rob Tait, Mike Patto, Lol Coxhill and others)

This is for me the best of the trilogy (which are all good), Camembert El. is good too along with the Pierre Moerlen era, Expesso II, Gazeuse!, Shamal and The Universe Also Collapses. They are different from Daevid Allen's Gong.

Yeah, I still don't know much about the Gong variations, but I'll get there in the future 🤞🏿

I can sort of see how this album might have left you a little underwhelmed on a first listen, especially in the context of completing this project, but I can't help but feel that its true glories will reveal themselves to you in the fullness of time. Gong is a textbook example of a band you have to "tune into" rather than just expecting them to be on the same wavelength as the rest of us. That's almost explicitly acknowledged in a lot of the lyrical content of the Radio Gnome Trilogy. It's all about taking a trip from reality, hopping aboard a flying teapot and settling down for a spell on Planet Gong. Sometimes that'll come as naturally as breathing, other times you might need to carve out the space, put the work in and wrench your mind wide open.

What? No! How could you call "you never blow yr trip forever" psychedelic chitchat? Maybe the first minute or 2, but when the song actually starts it is one of the most kickass tracks out there! It also concludes the trilogy quite nicely both lyrically and musically, quoting some of the previous albums. My personal favourite of the trilogy is Angels Egg but they are all ranked up very high in my book. Please give the last track another listen, and again once you heard the entire trilogy, it might bump this album to a solid 8 at least!
