    #4 is very important. Don't just run down the nut until you can't tighten it anymore. Tighten to the point where the bushing begins to bulge and stop. You can't use a regular torque wrench because you need to hold the center with another wrench to keep it from spinning. I just installed KYB's in the front today, we'll see how they hold up.

    Yeah I bought a set from you guys that has the washers and my truck only had two and the instructions specifically only showed two. So I used two.

    The KYB 565102 shocks I recently bought came with 2 flat rubber bushings, 2 curved washers and 2 curved centering washers. Correct order to place parts onto stud is: 1. Curved washer, 2. Flat rubber bushing, 3. Centering washer -- Insert stud through shock mount hole -- 4. Centering washer, 5. Flat rubber bushing, 6. Curved washer, 7. Nut. I think KYB may have made a change from shaped rubber bushings (where one side provides centering in the shock mount hole) to cheaper flat rubber bushings which then requires the centering washers to be used. Why am I writing this comment? Because the washer/bushing order information for the KYB 565102 shock is not available anywhere! Not on KYB's web site, not in this video. By the way... I took my 2006 Silverado 3500 out for a test drive after installing 565102's on the front and 565103's on the rear and I'm happy with the ride quality.

    I recently purchased KYB SM5752. It came with instructions as if they were for the front. But I specifically ordered the rear upper mounts. What order do these go on?

    I just got a set of complete strut plus units for my Mazda. Both struts the spring is clocked to far clockwise. The end of the spring is past where it should set in the bottom cup. The instructions state "vehicle ride height may be a little high utill they settle". Is this why they are clocked this way? So they can settle into the cups properly?

    Ordered a pair of rear shocks, KYB 555601 (Increased Handling/Stability) Gas-A-Just Monotube Info
    Rear; Mount kit SM526 Sold Separately- the only mount kit I could find is SM5267, so hoping for the best I ordered two kits, one for each shock, the nut barely threads onto the stud more than 2 rotations - if I force the nut to thread any more it will strip the threads, the included instructions are for the front end of the vehicle. Have an issue where I cannot remove the old ones without use of sawzall or grinder due to stud being distorted. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Why do you use just a double notch on the top of the strut bolt? All i can get on is a very tiny wrench, that just rounds over the notches. Why did you not just make the top of the bolt, six-pointed, so that a six-point box wrench or socket could be used on it when tightening the nut? If there is a solution that I am missing, please let me know. But, using an open-end wrench that is so small, does not work. It is too small to handle the necessary torque to tighten the nut on the top of the shock.

      The 360 parts photos in our online catalog will show the correct order, the online catalog can be found here: www.kyb.com/catalog/
      Make sure to check the way those components are stacked on the part you're replacing, we mostly keep the stacking order of those components the same unless we come up with a better design.
      Our customer and tech support teams can also assist if you reach out, please call or email with question at: kybcs@kyb.com.

    I ordered these for my Honda and they could not be delivered twice because of terrible packaging. Way to much room in the boxes and they slide around. You notice when he shakes the box it is bouncing around in the box. Shafts tear through sides of the box and Amazon want deliver them.

    How can we identify original KYB struts

    • @kybamericascorp
      @kybamericascorp  Před 2 lety +1

      We recommend buying from a KYB Authorized Seller, that's the first step to knowing if they are genuine. Check the part number on our catalog and see if it's the same. The stamped part number should match what's on the box and on screen. If you are still concerned that you may not have a KYB part, please speak with customer support who can assist you further.

    Might as well not include any at all,
