Marantz CD-40 (Philips) remote control. Very unusual unit which case is glued together.

There are three things that are unusual in this remote controller.
1. The case halves are spot glued together and hard to separate.
2. It uses several layers of membranes to accomplish what other do in one
3. It has the evil 47µF Philips Axial electrolytic capacitor, and almost all of the ones I have seen to date are leaky.

That must have been frustrating! Often the glued joint becomes the strongest part of the enclosure altogether and then good luck with that. I often find toluene indispensable, when dealing with hardened adhesive under the caps.
