When I first saw soldier fly larvae they were taking over my compost. There were so many that you could hear them crawling around it was gross. I put that bad boy in thr sun and within a few days they were gone. I didnt think to give them to the chickens and later learned they could be beneficial for the composting process as well. Great video. I leaving my ginger. My fruit trees were pruned a while ago. I had netting over some because of the beetles. The apples do well but bugs love the peach tree. Mine is self fertile but plan get another, have several apples and one with two kinds of fruit. Urban Homestead is great for learning about fruit trees. He had nice size orchard of all kind and goes over from planting, pruning and more. He also tell how keep them dwarf size which is what I am aiming for.. Last love the fall my greens getting so big tried something different works well but had cover my beds due to squirrels ( guess I need dog no cats). So far working with netting. Take care Happy Fall Gardening.

I'm trying to use my fruit trees for shade but I should probably keep them small too. Fruit trees don't like to compete for nutrients so only grow very shallow rooted veges underneath them like lettuce etc. Spray your fruit trees with 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar and 5 litres of water. It will kill any disease but also feed the leaves. I'm growing self fertile fruit trees so I only need one of each but I would like another plum tree. I'm growing sultan plums. Delicious. I grow Niagara grapes. Small and sweet and seedless. I'm a beginner and same as you...if it grows then great but if it doesn't then no big deal...just try again 😊

I've heard lots of good things about that Grub Terra. Looking forward to your video on your chickens.
I live in Georgia which is supposed to be the peach state but my peach tree has been plagued with Plum Curculio for 20 years. They drill into the fruit when they reach golf ball size and then the fruit falls off. I am going to have to do a soil drench in hopes I can get a good harvest next year.
