I think you're brainwashed to the system too much. I hired a lot of people who have the right skills and they did great! I never really look at their grades or what school their from. Heck, I don't even care if they had a degree! As long as they performed the task well they are my team!

As a Navy veteran myself it annoys me when people think we go in because we can't hack it in the "real world" or that our training is inferior to civilian schools
Show is pretty cool, shows how it is kinda of cool to be a nerd. Sort like the show friends with a higher GPA. Penny has such a different personality this season compared with previous seasons. Penny's performance as a actress , the leading actress and perhaps actor in this sitcom, is still spot on. In basketball terms she went from the point guard to the power forward, Sheldon is the center, and other cast members fill in the spots of guards and one forward.

You either have the qualifications or you have the connections to get in. Penny got the job bc she had the connections. Why are ppl today so ignorant when it's so easy to research everything?!
Salesperson requires sales skills! Personally, I don't think any job could prepare someone for that! If a customer or goes to a store or a restaurant, it's because they are interested in the products or services. If they are there, it is because of an advertisement or a promotion! If Penny is selling pharmaceutical drugs to certified physicians, then she could really help patients finding a pharmaceutical drug that is good for them.
honestly giving penny this job wasnt what her character deserved. the whole point of penny’s character is that she is supposed to be the guys opposite and that she brings them into her world and vice versa. once penny gets this job though, she just becomes a part of their world and loses any individuality. penny always had all these friends in the earlier seasons but then her life just revolves around her job and the gang. of course that can be a natural progression in life but i just feel like it doesnt fit penny and that she deserved better, especially when she said many times that she wasnt happy being a sales rep. yeah penny was good at it and she was able to earn her own money and wasnt dependent on the guys anymore, but penny deserved to find success doing something fulfilling, even if it wasnt acting. plus i dont like how they wrote it in. penny quit her job to focus on acting because it was her dream but then all of a sudden shes fine with being a sales rep?
Sad how they had to force a unrealistic way to get her to actually making just as much as Leonard. Leonard,Sheldon and Howard and raj should be making a minimum of 100-125k a year. This tv show downgrades the men so much especially in the later seasons.
After all the sexism and misogyny towards females in the earlier seasons? Not nice when the tables flipped is it? And this situation isn’t even unrealistic.
