i wish far cry stayed true to this games genre, on the outside it appears to be another hollywood save the damsel in distress shooter, you get hooked on the level design and different ways to approach your objective. Then mid way through you’re drawn into this psychological science fiction horror game which gives the game even more depth. Imagine if Farcry 2 your character gets infected with “malaria” but it’s actually a genetically modified strain of the virus and it makes people zombies or some type of mutated mindless soldier and you’re torn between choosing between good and evil to continue to get your medicine to ward off this mutated virus effects. And they continued to make shooters with some psychological twist to it. Great speed run by the way!
i mean the far cry 1 story is pretty ridiculous, or at least it was executed ridiculously, especially considering the voice acting in the game. dont get me wrong, i love it for that. it doesnt take itself seriously. however, i also loved far cry 2 for its serious and desolate feel. far cry 3 has some wild elements to it but no sci-fi. everything after it to me feels like milking the cow while making a new campaign for the same game with some mechanical improvements alongside keeping up with the trendy elements of other peer games. soulless. but what so i know, i have not bothered to play far cry 4, 5, new dawn or 6. far cry 1 is a completely different game than all the others. it is crysis without the suit, crysis 0. except in far cry 1, the monsters do not fly which is better IMO.
it is good to hang out with people while i speedrun. i would get bored talking about the run itself for a million times since i do many attempts. after playing so much, everything is kinda on autopilot. 😃

A decade ago I was pretty decent at Half-Life 2, was even at a good Games Done Quick event in Minneapolis-Saint Paul but nothing close to any kind of record-setting. Well I'd like to think I am pretty well versed in Far Cry 1 so I would have seen it. I don't think this game has an alternate, fast ending like Far Cry 4. Prove me wrong though!

Good question. Far Cry 2 is special, an innovation in the series, but it is obsolete and repetitive at this point. FC3 and onward, I feel like newer games require less and less skill to play. Loads of unskippable cutscenes and "interactive" cutscenes. Games focus on graphics and story way too much. There is cinema for that. Games should be fun to PLAY, should promote learning to play smart, aim better, move better because that is the actual fun part - being challenged and mastering something. Somehow, people forgot that in newer games. Too many open world, grandiose, do-whatever-you-want type stuff. That ultimately is not nearly as fun as more linear games because you don't ever feel like you really learned or accomplished anything. I am also biased, I guess, because I come from an era where we would play cod2 multiplayer and that was back when the cod series had not released like 200 games already. when you realize how interesting it is to play well online, it really gets you hooked and gives you this unique perspective on gaming (which is not that unique anymore because of all the online gaming going on today) so you tend not to be interested in games that don't require this type of engagement. there is a nice community of runners for fc3, 4, primal, 5, new dawn, 6 and they are all good dudes. if you like some of those, check out binslev, alexyeahnot, chiefsupreme, wubcool etc. cheers!
@@lekolega wow, thank you for the response and yes i have watched lots of fc 3 and fc runs since far cry 3 and far cry are my favourite games, since i think that far cry is much more difficult to play and you and other speedrunners of this game are certainly skilled, and far cry 3 is just a game that i play for fun, not really for the difficulty more for the graphics, funny bits, and the fun missions. But yes i totally agree with you on the latest ubisoft games that focus WAY too much on the story and less on the actual game, the actual difficulty, i finished far cry 5 on the hardest difficulty and it was full of glitches and overall just not that good of an experience as i had with fc, 2 and 3. Also i love the mechanics in fc 2 (ex. the character actually running out of stamina, the malaria pills, and how the guns work)
U know if u slice that fence at start of game the one holding the pigs in it sends you towards the hut on top of the hill I did it earlier its probably faster than walking or running it might be a lil inconsistent only tried it once.u prob already know about it tbh think u gotta do it in a certain direction or just get lucky lol
What going on with the Krieger boss fight? Took me 8 tries, until I accidentally shot him in his right leg. I saw you do the same, can you explain to me? I looked up a speedrun to find out if this is meant to happen 😂
The only conditions that need to be met for this level to finish are: 1) 3:50 trigger this cutscene where you find out that Val has been taken to the Bunker 2) go to the end level trigger

Great question. It is a community effort from 2018 until today. Slowly, hanging out with peoole and speedrunning over the years, we would try to find exploits. Then someone new would show up to the community and show us more stuff and little by little we got from 1:25 to 0:39. It is a fun process.

@@rishabdam4228 Some hills are just climbable like that, some are not. There is a setup for every hillclimb that we do and after doing them 1000s of times they are mostly very easy for us. I literally have inputs on screen so you can see what I am pressing. All the answers are right in front of you 😊

many. almost every level has one. some are more difficult than others like cooler skip control skip, volcano skip, archive skip...

I heard this game in near impossible on the high difficulties is that true?
Realistic is not easy, indeed. With the AI tent fix it is doable. I actually completed a realistic diffuculty speedrun.

Can't kill the heli in Boat without guns.
@@lekolega Would it work with grenades? You can destroy normal helis with them. Anyway, I gave up in the second level, but the fourth one is possible.
