Far Cry Any% Speedrun in

"You have arrived at your destination."
This is the first 38 minute single segment run ever done and my first run with the inclusion of void strafing strategies in Bunker and Factory.
The run itself is really solid with only one visible mistake in Factory which cost me around 7 seconds.
Improvements are always possible. Steam, Regulator, Archive, Swamp, Factory and Dam can all be slightly faster due to either RNG or just suboptimal execution.
Although I am very proud of this run, and would love to hold the WR, I think it will be beaten soon and I am even happier that we are gonna keep pushing this game lower and lower.
I would say that my theoretical limit with the current strategies is ≈ 38:20 given that in the aforementioned levels where I lost time, the sum of all that lost time is around 35 seconds, but also taking into consideration that you can never get the perfect run.
We have been wrong many times about theoretical limits for this game though, so we will see what happens.
Played on Steam 1.4 Version with AI Tent Fix and Silent Patch.

Doktore svaka cast, znam da je ovo sad 3. mesto al je lepo videti nekoga s nasih prostora da je posvetio vreme ovome, ima par ljudi koji dominiraju u novijim igricama al retko se vidi u old schoolovima ko sto je far cry 1, igrica detinjstva hahah, tolko sam vremena proveo igrajuci se po mapama da sam nasao par glitcheva koji se bas u ovakvim speedrunovima koriste ;)

Hvala lijepo. Dosta dugo od 2018. sam ja na prvom mjestu bio ali u zadnje vrijeme je igra napokon dobila malo više pozornosti a ja sam vec tolko dugo u speedrunanju Far Crya tak da je bio red da mladi rokeri preuzmu.

insane record! just curious; how does the fps incluence the difficulty? in your realistic wr you wrote the limited 60fps in the description. cheers!

Thanks! I am not exactly sure how it works, but running the game on less fps makes enemies slower to spot you and react to you. In this run, I use externally locked 175 with RivaTuner because on 175 it is the golden zone and every skip works well enough.

What version of the game are you playing? My game also says 1.4 but it has more enemy spawns in some parts, especially in the level Dam

"Environment Quality" in advanced graphics settings.
This is responsible for the amount of objects that spawn in game, including enemies. We advise setting it to low, so that no barricades in Swamp and Dam levels spawn. It also removes couple of patrol boats in Boat level and some barrels and boxes here and there.
(this setting affects sys_skipOnLowSpec variable (low = 1), you can check what game objects despawn when sys_skipOnLowSpec is 1 in level editor)
