I've found you when I was pregnant and I firmly believe that it changed everything in my relationship with my daughter. I watched your videos, bought the books you reccomend. It ended up being so easy, she's now an independent and happy child. I am afraid what might've bee if I haven't found you and my traumas kicked in and I raised her the only way I knew growing up. It's extremely important to be conscious with your actions and words, especially when we act out of our emotions or traumas that we project onward. I know it's impossible to be a perfect parent, but I believe you've helped me become a better one that I might have been and I wanted to thank you deeply for it.

So happy to have you back! I'm 51 and a mom of 3 2 grown daughters and my son is 15. I also am blessed to live with my grandson and involved in raising him. I discovered your channel when he was 1. I wish it was when he was a newborn or better yet when I had my 1st daughter 32 years ago. I was a teen mom and well I did the best I could. I would have embraced this way of parenting if I was introduced to it. It's funny how many people I have discussed this with. Even my male primary care doctor! He has thanked me so many times. But unfortunately many woman feel almost offended. My cousin had her baby shower and I gifted her all the books you recommended. She teaches 1st grade and I think she felt like she knows everything about children and didn't need any reading material lol . My relationship with my grandson is a beautiful one. Respectful and honest. I can't thankyou enough .

I discovered her channel when my twins were 1 as well and I wish I had watched all her videos before they were born! You sound like a very loving and accepting mom. It is such a gift to both your daughter and your grandson that you are an active and conscious grandma. If my mom was like that with my twins, any mistake she may have made with me would be completely made up for.

I have since embarked on an entire academic career with the goal of bringing respectful care to the mainstream early childhood education system. I’m so grateful I stumbled upon your videos and pivoted my entire life to promote respectful relationships

I was living in Haiti and in 2020 had to leave due to unrest and the pandemic. My daughter was 6 months at the time. I had just been looking up videos on how to travel with a baby and found your video which had so much graciousness and peace about traveling with a baby and from there I found your other videos which helped me cope with the trauma of moving and having to leave family behind and be like a single mom to my girl. I’m looking forward to your course and think it may even be useful to have dialogue or forum on this topic.

It's breaks my heart to see parents that arent open to other perspectives but they are definitely unaware, have no relationship with ourselves, themselves... so there for have no real deep connection to how to raise a little human. 🙃
Just wanted to say, I've seen your videos from way back in the day but I reconnected with you while listening to the freely rooted podcast. I heard your voice and thought, "I know her!!!!" So happy so see you back. Yay!

I am very new here and came across your channel through another channel. SJ strum who mentioned in her video that she follows you. I am going through all your videos currently and do love them. I, recently, have been watching a LOT of gentle, conscious parenting, montessori videos and i have a burning question! One which I've not heard or read a book address yet.
I strongly resonate with the principles of these parenting styles. It's one thing you and your partner following these principles in your own home or when your together but how do you deal with grand parents, relatives, strangers, schools interacting with your child in more traditional ways. Say for example, when others tell you child to stop being naughty or they force the child to say thank you or they bribe them to do something or they push them into doing things etc. Does this confuse and affect our children negatively or does this present a learning for our babies, toddlers that people are all different?

How do I submit questions and get more information? For instance, is this a self paced program that can be completed at my leisure? How long after purchase will I have access to the program? Will I just need my phone or computer, or do I need to purchase books or other supplies?

    • @themellowmama
      @themellowmama  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey, Kristina!
This is a self-paced course that you’ll have lifelong access to once you are enrolled!
I provide PDFs and a few ebooks for reference and to use alongside each module, but even they are simply helpful tools, not necessary!

You were the person who introduced me to RIE and Janet Lansbury. As probably a lot of your followers, I came from an attachment parenting style. And like most of them, I thought I was being the perfect parent and I honestly loved my life as a mum. It was only when I developed breastfeeding aversion while pregnant with my youngest, that I realised that attachment parenting doesn't mean respectful parenting. Just like you said on a podcast once, I was able to cuddle up with my daughter while at the same time being very dismissive of why she was upset.
Thank you so much for introducing what is now my passion - authentic and respectful parenting. I am just now starting to come out of nearly 1.5year long PND (my youngest is nearly 1.5 years old) and although this time has been truly horrible, it has thought me so much about myself. I'm very interested in the "reparenting" approach. Do you have any suggestions for free resources that would introduce me to this concept please?

Well my course will be an amazing paid resource, and I have payment options! That being said though, I recommend following me on IG and going through my most recent book club IGTVs as well as checking out some videos here on CZcams from me! The ego one for sure!

Hey Kate please please read this.
I’ve been like you when I was pregnant and for the first months to almost a year. But I suffer from a severe chronic disease on meds daily to survive without pain. Single mom, and was in a shelter with my baby since she was 4 months. The dad still makes problems and I have no way around it since he has 50% custody.
I’m trying to be conscious and most of the time I am, but sometimes I struggle & I snap. I regret it so much but I don’t want her to be affected by it. The father side is not conscious and she’s there 3 weekends of the month so lots of time 3 days/ 2 nights a week. So parenting her is even harder. During the week she’s with me but goes to kindergarten so I only have few hours after kindergarten. She’s strong little girl a little stubborn but she has a warm heart & so loving. I just need to fix things but I don’t know how. Ppl tell me it’s ok if I show her I’m authority figure, no is a no & no question about it. But I feel bad & guilty and it’s not healthy, this is what they do to her so now all her responses first word “no I don’t want to do this I’ll do this” or just no. Literally I could ask her want chocolate? First answer is no, than yes. And drives me insanely sad, I don’t know how to change. She’s bilingual speaks German and English she’s only 3. She doesn’t understand everything I say yet.
How I can change this? How can I take the trauma? How can I know she’s doing fine? Everyone says she is but I don’t think she is. I feel like she’s struggling a little inside but don’t know how to express so she gets angry super fast. Lots of tantrums like daily! The day that it does pass with no tantrum is a good day.
And yes I asked what I can do, they tell me “well that’s normal for this age, she will grow out of it” no I disagree. She shouldn’t be this anxious.
I also told the judge 3 days there and 4 days here, how can she settle? They tell me, well this is what happens when you divorce. Blaming me for putting my daughter in a “bad situation” by divorcing her abusive dad. Also she comes showing signs of neglect and they don’t do anything about it.
Because of my disease when I have a flare up she needs to stay with them until I’m better but I am looking into a solution for that. I just don’t have the money to pay for baby sitting.
Please guide me to change our lives with parenting skills and ways please😭
