They didnt come to there to really answer any indepth questions.
They have a rough draft of action. General overvieiw right now. Why is it taking so long? Because poop is hard to roll uphill. The questions being asked were out of ignorance as to what this Texas Meeting Committee is about. With all the scurrying and deliberate hiding and changing of stories, it makes it even more difficult to progress. This will drag on for months. Each officer will be studied, questioned, interrogated etc. Then compare what that officer says to other officers. Then with film and whatever else. A big fat mess that will take a long time to sift through. This didnt just involve those officer that were first responders there were 376 officers that were called or aware of the shooting. There was a breakdown of mammoth porportions.
They need to take their time and get ever damn fact straight so things can change through policy and the betterment of leadership.
You have a podunk town that have a bunch of Barney Fifes basically. They NEVER in a million years thought theyd be placed in this position. No excuse. But that is part of the issue. Chief Arrendodo was the stumbling block to the entire operation, he sent a vibe of stopping a very natural and instinctive nature of men doing a common sense job of saving lives. Arrendondo is seen “holding back” men, and negotiating with the threat or the shooter. It is a necessary instinct of heroics natural to all men especially those armed and in uniform. When the sound of shots and children are heard this is the instinctive COMMANDING calling for any and all men to step up to protect and defend. No so called “commander” or “chief” or bull shit title should over ride this type of summoning to immediate arms. Arrendondo set the stage to stifle this energy of heroics and anger, the hero and warrior complexes should have dominated and any person in charge should have driven this masculine warrior energy properly. This means confront and kill the threat to the innocent women and children who are being killed and/or face imminent danger.

I work in the medical field. And at one of the hospitals I worked I was part of the rapid response team. Worked ER. Worked codes many times.
Yet when the team would go to the floors for a code, the nurses would be clueless and afraid to take action. They froze. Not all but many.
Why? Because they dont know how to act when it actually happens. Yes they have mock codes. Maybe twice a month. But its disorganized etc etc and not taken seriously like it is in ER.
Its like if I was in NYC as an officer where I am exposed to all types of violence, Im more apt to act than an officer Uvalde.
    The ER was NYC
    The floors were Uvalde
Im not making excuses but until we understand the psychology and reasons why these officers all didnt act and come up with solutions then we are doomed to repeat this scenario.
People call 400 cops cowards. Really? That isnt sensible. Yes some of them were. But many are simply not use to knowing what to do. Because they havent been exposed or are not getting intense enough training. Because hey, this wont happen here. Lets go to DQ and get some steakfingers.
Policy needs to change and more intense real to life training needs to happen. Put them through the ringer to toughen them up to where there is no fear in the way that they scatter in confusion.
Is this the entire problem? No. Because you cant twist someones arm to run into danger without courage behind it. But insecurity in training leads to fear wich leads to cowardice.
We need to come up with solutions. Punishment isnt going to do that. Yes, they need to be punished fully. But unless someone looks really hard into this, justified vengence against these officers isnt going to solve the issues.

Every single one of the LEOs who showed up and did not act should hand in their badges and never become a law enforcement officer again.
There is a point when you tell your command where to shove his authority, go in and handle the threat and deal with the repercussions later; They were beyond that point within 5 minutes of the attacker entering the school.
There is ZERO excuse for not acting in that instance, even 'I didnt want to die' is not valid in that situation. Sure, nobody puts on the badge and the rest of the gear expecting to give their lives, but by taking that oath it should be implied that it is expected it could happen 🤷🏻‍♂️.
Better to die a hero protecting innocent people than die a coward who stood by, listened and watched as people were SLAUGHTERED feet away from you.

These were COWARDS. They weren't "good guys with a gun". In fact, as we're finding out more and more: they aren't even 'good guys' at all. They are villains. They are bad guys. Your logic is flawed. It's suggesting that EVERYONE in this nation that owns a firearm is a coward that would have responded the same way.

Thats probably part of the problem. They are small towns people. They probably never thought to drill and drill. Who knows how many drills or if properly done.

Homeless communities of 5,000 people run by FEMA with shared shower, laundry, cooking, toilet facilities, restaurants, and stores; like a large campground. Serve as a workforce producing more homeless shelters from free plastic-waste taken out of the oceans; and electric-car conversion kits for only $600 when produced using _The Defense Production Act._ Homeless-shelters that cost only $6,000 and house 5 people can withstand 200mph winds, float upon flood waters, and are better insulated than wooden structures; so are more energy efficient.

The survey of 1,541 U.S. adults, which was conducted from June 10 to 13, found that the current bipartisan plan could prove very popular if it’s ultimately signed into law. When asked about its four key reforms:
    ● 66% of Americans favor and 19% oppose "expanding criminal and mental background checks for buying guns to include juvenile records"
    ● 66% support and 13% oppose "more government spending on security services in public K-12 schools"
    ● 67% support and 13% oppose "more government spending on mental health programs in public K-12 schools"
    ● And 54% favor and 26% oppose "expanding so-called red-flag laws, which make it easier for authorities to confiscate guns from people reported to be a threat."

It's crazy how there's people that actually OPPOSE the idea of increased funding for school security and mental health services. As well as expanding background checks for firearm purchases. How can ANYONE oppose the idea of spending more money in exchange for increased safety for CHILDREN? That is just bonkers.
