    Not a photographer, still enjoyed the vid a lot. You feel like a real dude instead of some weird youtube creature trying to sell me things. Appreciate the authenticity. Gives me a degree of insight into photography as an activity that other videos haven't come close to. Cool park, too.

    I have set the press in button at the side of the viewfinder to ISO. Then SS and aperture on front and back dials. Now YOU are my man because I really want someone to do a video on using the Voigtlamder to Manual focus and also zone focus with it. That would be great. Thanks

    You commented about changing the ISO..You can use the front dial and push it to switch between exposure, compensation, film type, and ISO. To enable this, set the film type dial to C and the exposure compensation dial to C

    Nice review! you're the only one who made a detailed review on the looks of the body and matching it with different lenses. Many are just focus on specs and forgot that it is a casual/semi-pro unit.

    Just picked mine up, excited to get shooting with it and make some videos for my channel. Grabbed the charcoal coat.
    Also pretty insane, I also own the Ricoh GR III, shoot Sony professionally & I'm from San Diego, born/raised in North Park. Ha ha. I also bought the XT-50 because my X100VI preorder took too long - Oh and I have a photo/video yt channel too. Cheers.

    Great review! I'm in a similar situation myself. I currently own a Sony A7IV and am on the lookout for an everyday carry (EDC) camera that’s both fun to shoot with and more portable. The full-frame setup is just too big and heavy to carry around in my backpack every day.
    I also have a ZV-1, but it falls short in terms of shooting ergonomics and image quality. The XT50 looks like it might meet my expectations for photography features and appears to be quite capable in the video department as well. I'm considering pairing it with a prime lens in the 24-35mm range, although I haven't made a final decision on the lens yet. My primary focus is on travel, street, and family photography and video.

    • @BrayGrayy
      @BrayGrayy  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Nice! I used to have the ZV-1 as well and totally agree with your take on the ergonomics and photo quality.
      I haven't really used the video on the X-T50 yet, but it definitely seems like it has some nice video features from just poking around in the settings. Also that sounds like a pretty good range of lenses for your use cases. I have the 16mm Fuji (24mm full frame equivalent) and I definitely recommend it if you're looking to go on the wider end of your preferred range.

    Great review, dude ! Just got same XT-50 last week. My main goal was to get compact casual camera to replace Sony RX100. And try out the filters with just jpeg. I realized the 16-50 was still not compact enough. So trying to figure out the 27mm pan cake. Between Voiglander and Fujinon, what is your thought? I replayed a few times, and liked the Voiglander looks from your video, but worried about the manual focus ring.

    • @BrayGrayy
      @BrayGrayy  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Honestly, the Voigtlander is my favorite lens for my Fuji cameras. Manual focus is definitely something I'm getting used to though. It makes you slow down a bit more when taking shots, especially if you're going to use the full f2 aperture. However the focus ring itself is pretty nice and the focal distances still get displayed on the camera screen. I use the Fuji 27mm when I want to shoot faster and not think as much lol

    Nice video. I have an original X-T30. I would love to upgrade to something with image stabilization. I was waiting for the X-T50, but I was put off by the price and the film sim dial. Given the fact that I wish my XT30 had an ISO dial, I wouldn't want to miss the function dial as well. That being said, I love that I can slap on the Fuji 27mm and slip the camera into a jacket pocket. Did you get the X-T50 because you found the X-T5 too cumbersome and/or conspicuous for street photography?

    • @BrayGrayy
      @BrayGrayy  Před 2 měsíci +2

      Yeah, I have to admit the film sim dial takes a bit of getting used to and an ISO dial would have been better. But I'm liking the X-T50 otherwise. The X-T5 was a little too bulky for me for everyday carry and shooting, but it's still a great camera.

    • @jackiejuniper1
      @jackiejuniper1 Před 2 měsíci

      I’m with you. Original xt30 but really wanted IBIS and improved tracking for wildlife. Put off by price and film sim dial but went for it all the same. Had a few days to play and it delivers on the IBIS and tracking. Haven’t used the film sim dial at all so a bit of a waste there but have managed to put ISO onto the front dial which works for me. Overall an expensive upgrade but I think it will be worth it when I’ve got to grips with how best to use the various options.

      I pre-ordered the XT50 from my camera dealer. I thought the camera was great, but the XT50 was a bit too small for me. My dealer gave me a great price on the XT5, cheaper than the XT50. So, I went with the XT5. I hope that was the right decision. After watching the video, I'm not so sure anymore. The XT50 is really nice.

    I shoot Sony a7iv when doing real work, but I found it too serious for those casual days where I just want to take a camera and shoot random things. Instead of waiting for the X100vi or overpaying for any Fuji X series, I ended up getting the XT50. 🎉

    Thoughts so far on after using both the X-T50 and X-T5? I keep coming back to your video/channel since I've got both and can't decide which to keep and which to sell lol. I keep going back and forth with my thinking. The X-T5 just seems to be the better value(with it the weather sealing, dual card slots, better screen, iso dial instead of gimped film emulation dial etc.) but the X-T50 is smaller and lighter, which is probably the most important feature when travelling(and all the extras of the X-T5 seem to matter ... but then I start to think the difference in size doesn't actually make that much of a difference since it's not large enough of a difference to drastically change what bag you can carry each respective camera in. I've only done some short durations carrying them around, and although the weight difference is noticeable, it so far doesn't seem to make a drastic difference... Does the weight difference become more noticeable after carrying it for a while?

    • @BrayGrayy
      @BrayGrayy  Před měsícem +2

      So here's the thing.... if you're making a decision on what's going to be your ONLY camera, go with the X-T5. With all the benefits you mentioned, it's more suited to be a hybrid everyday and semi-professional camera. The X-T50 is great, but it's closer to being an X100vi replacement than a X-T5 replacement. It's a highly capable EDC camera that for me has just been easier for me to lug around in my 1 liter camera sling and still have room for the pocket 3 (for my POV shots) and other accessories. I couldn't do that with the X-T5. Plus I have Sony cameras for more professional work, so for me the X-T5 doesn't make as much sense to have. The weight difference between the two isn't as noticeable to me, but the form factor is. I feel much more nimble with the X-T50. At the end of the day, you just have to go with what feels right for you and your situation.

    • @travismlu
      @travismlu Před měsícem

      @@BrayGrayy Thank you! I'll play around with them a bit this weekend to get a better feel and see if I feel that additional nimbleness as well. Looking to serve as a nice portable, digital companion to bring along with my medium format film cameras.

    • @FredCacti
      @FredCacti Před 11 dny

      my 2 pennies worth. if your workflow includes raw files you probably want the xt5 as you get the iso dial. if you never deal with raw then I actually really like the idea of the film simulation dial. Battery life + dual card slot probably doesn't matter to many people (unless you really take a lot of pics). In addition, XT50 includes a flash which for non professional use will likely come in handy

      Realistically with the 27mm it's about as pocketable as an X100vi (jacket or large pants pockets), as opposed to a Ricoh GRiii that fits in any pants pockets (like a smartphone basically).

    • @BrayGrayy
      @BrayGrayy  Před měsícem +1

      @@SabrinaAbdullah1 The X-T50 and the X100vi basically share the same specs (sensor, processor, photo/video capabilities). The X-T30ii is more similar to last year's X100v in the same way. If film simulations are your main want, the X-T30ii is a good option. It just won't have a dedicated dial for film simulations
