Always love hearing the west coasters theories for colors and scents, we don't get quite as scientific but it's always fun to hear. Such an epic place with massive fish
Great series! “You’re the expert but I was born here”😂🤣
One thing that really stands out is the lack of sea lions. Makes a guy wonder what sea lions really do to the “big” chinook here on the big CR.
Sea Lions yes...but what really hammers on the big Chinook are the Commercial fishing boats in the salt. To get a Big Chinook...they need to survive in the salt for 5-6+ Years!
@@DayOneOutdoors sadly it’s a very mis managed fishery more in favor of the big money commercial guys.
Little light on the rod selection 😂😂
Yeah....definitely. HA! thought it would be enough to bring them in and pack lighter...nope! But hey, we got'em!
Oh yeah, the wait is over!!! I know it's not, but is that Mount Hood in the background?😄😄😄 I think I might have to move also!!! Planer boards and Magnum Wiggle Warts for the win.
Crazy how similar it looks to here in the PNW!
I've really enjoyed this series. It's too bad you didn't have more days in Patagonia. Would love to see more episodes!
We can't wait to go back!
Bring out the Spinfish for the next Patagonia fishing adventure!
Absolutely!
Very cool Cody 👍👍
Thanks for the support! It was a great trip!
EPIC! WOW! Looks like the big C
It all looked so familiar even though we were thousands of miles away!
Definitely need to come back to Argentina. That part of the Patagonia has the glacier kings. From what I know that strain of fish is huge spring Chinook that are 100 lbs over at least. Same with their steelhead runs on the rio Santa Cruz and the giant sea run brown trout! Definitely worth looking into would love to see a video!
Oh Man...I'm in! Definitely going to look in to that! Thanks for the info!
This is great scenery. I'd love to visit. I've used the same type plugs in Alaska and Michigan. It's very effective.
Yes they are!
Awesome video!!!! Love the details yall go over. Definitely try casting plugs for kings!!! Very effective here in Michigan.
It works great! That is what we did in part 2!
Is that chuck the owner of Pavati?
You guys should've thrown twitching jigs.
Oh man...would have LOVED to! We were encouraged to not do that because it is heavily fished by fly anglers. It would look like we were trying to snag fish and the lodge we were at asked us not to. So we obliged...dangit!
Running 360s even there
Wish we brought some!
What year was this?
Genetics from true JUNE HOGS?
All fall stocks from several Columbia river tributaries!
Did you all take any scale samples. Would be interesting to see.
No scale samples. Just going off the stocking data used in this area! The history shows all Fall chinook eggs were used!
