Many of us have to be VERY careful not to compare ourselves to you as it's truly truly an exceptional achievement, Ben... but inspired by you, absolutely!!! I was first totally blown away by your performance, 22h🤯 but THEN your recovery!!!🤯🤯🤯 Seems Ben you were indeed Born To Run !!!
Yeah I wouldn't compare yourself to me Bev I just bumble my way along and sometimes good things happen 🤣 really pleased with the recovery it's been great to run again so soon. Thanks for all the support! 😎🤘

Oh PS Sue says she never asks me "permission" to do anything but sometimes I feel I need to at least "check" with her if I can head off for a run as you never know what "function" she may have told me about that seemingly I had forgotten about :)

Good to hear you felt the race went well and that you are recovering well. I was certainly very impressed. I did wonder though that for somebody honest about tracking shoe mileage and full details of your training and racing on Strava what you do when change shoes mid race! When I do shoeoffs I have had to split runs but I would want to keep the actual 100 mile race as one activity else it might look like you had a DNF. Be interesting to see how you get in a shorter race. Hope don't get over anxious with all the faster goal pace you have to do. Maybe time for some "plates" too even in addition to those ones good for holding cakes and stuff.
Cheers Tim! Yeah I was a bit anxious about correctly tracking my mileage in the shoes but then I realised that I wouldn't be making a half baked shoe review of the footwear after the race so I soon got over it 🤣 Thanks for all the support Tim! 😎🤘
Great recap mate. I have an extra question - Did your crew provide you with additional food other than the aid stations and if so what worked best for you on the day?
Cheers Phil! Yeah they did keep me topped up with food and drink. They had my drinks sachets and gels with them so I could take additional ones for the aid stations to add the water between stops. They also had sausage rolls and potato wedges. Also a big bottle of coke for me to swig. They were basically a mobile aid station. Thanks for watching Phil! 😎🤘
