- Do you know how to turn a bolt, loosen a clamp, and push down on a lever? If so, installing this carbon fiber cold air Intake and battery relocate from Acuity will be a piece of cake for you! Acuity offers a wide variety of parts for the 9th Gen Civics, and their first performance part to be featured on the channel is their intake and battery relocate kit. Their intake will allow my engine to inhale a bit deeper than the stock setup, while also making servicing the vehicle much easier due to its design and simplicity.
When you purchase one of Acuity’s cold air intakes for your OEM manifold & OEM TB configuration, if you decide to upgrade your manifold, throttle body, or both, Acuity has you covered with different couplers for your application. Links for all of them will be found below.

Hey Milan thanks so much for the excellent install video! Stoked to see you’re enjoying the upgrade. Excited to see how this civic si build progresses. Cheers 🙏! ~Pawinn
My pleasure! It's a no brainer when you guys make high quality parts 💯
Trying to buy an intake, got a discount code?
Must be the most complex cold air intake install I've seen! 🤣 Great video! Love how technical you get! Can't wait to see more! 👍🏻
hondas are easy to work on! .......unless you want to do a CAI. their stock intake systems are terrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrible
Man I dunno how you don't have a million subs. Again best instructional videos on CZcams PERIOD. Show your support like and subscribe people!
The most comprehensive / INVOLVED intake swap I've ever seen.... Very detailed how to and a high quality kit.
Through the video, I was just thinking "this kit is probably very expensive", but then I saw the price and... honestly, for that price this kit is an insanely good deal, and I thought It'd be a lot more. I think I know what intake kit I'm buying for my future K24 build, lol! Great video!
Damn dude aquitity better be paying you for this. I mean could their guys even do a tutorial that's good. Prob not
LOL Acuity and I are on good terms! I have a bunch more of their parts going on the car, and I'm pumped!! 😁
Great tutorial. Been a while since visiting the channel but after my son got a 9th gen Civic, your vids got on my radar. As always, you're the king of B-roll and clear/concise explanations.
Thanks Will!! I wish your son the best of luck with his Civic, and I hope my videos will be great tools for him to use in the future.
I have followed your channel for years and I really like your videos. You make your videos without any needed background music and like the voiceover. Keep your videos like this and keep it up.

Thanks for that Chadi! I appreciate it 🙌
Always an amazing time when we all are blessed by a well executed build 👍
I appreciate that man 🙏 thank you!
Yeah, thanks man. I’ve had my 9th gen coupe for almost 3 years now and because of you I love it even more!
I'm happy to hear that man! Maybe I'll be caught up to you soon with the mods I'm putting on it 😁 I've owned this for not too long, but going hard with it lol
@@milanmastracci it’s definitely a pleasure to follow the build !
Bro awesome video, the way you go about explaining what you are doing is so detailed and easy to understand. I liked it so much that I don’t even own or plan to own an acuity cold air and I still watched the whole thing haha. I have a typhoon in my 9th gen and I’m plenty happy with that.
Acuity makes great stuff. I have a few of their parts installed on my 9th gen si
Always killing it with these detailed videos! Keep it up man
Thanks Berto 👊 feel free to share it!
Hey man just wanna say loved the vids on the civic si got mine on June 15 and love it and for the first time i did a full service and all alone thanks to you man much love from Guatemala keep up the good vids bro
That's awesome brother! Congrats on the new whip 🙌 If you haven't already, you will fall in love with it
I was waiting for this video! Great quality 🔥 I’m hyped for the next one!!
That makes two of us!! 😁
Wow I didn’t expect to make such a nice sound ….and the quality of the intake was was amazing really liked the carbon fiber piping
Couldn't agree more!! I'm quite impressed with the kit
Harbor freight got some pliers for those plastic clips called Pittsburgh push pin pliers! Really nice to have
How have I missed your channel this entire time? You’re amazing oml
Thanks Aaden! SUBSCRIBBBEEE 😁
That expression of joy. Best feeling in the world 🌍
Video was very entertaining, and helpful to those 9th gen owners! Well done my friend.
I'm happy to hear that Welshy! Thank you 👊

Thanks Crimson! I appreciate the feedback and support 🙌
Love your videos man. Very detailed, keep em coming!
Thanks Tony, will do!
I love your videos, so educational, so good. You are awsome at this man!
I appreciate that!! Much love 👊
Best video ever. I did this battery relocation and cold intake build 2 months ago before watching your video. I unfortunately custom made my own battery set up. Have you considered a heat shield at the back of your battery to ward of heat from the exhaust manifold I am willing to post some pics. Well done brother. Really nice and professional work.
Hi there, i am all the way from Recife in Brazil South America, and I really liked your video, very informative and all, thank you for sharing it with us…🇧🇷
Well presented. Really professionally done. 👊
Much appreciated! 🙏
Bro milan I really enjoy watching your videos
I’m waiting for the BRC manifold install.
You'll really like the next video in that case 👀
nice install 🙌🏽
With your videos I get more excited to buy an 9th gen Si
Better act quick the 9th gen Si's are going up in value.
Don't sleep on it! The 9th gens are going up in value
Great video, was going to ask if you could make a video or explain the new calibration you put on the car to run this CAI. I recently bought one but can’t figure out the tuning par, I have Hondata.
Loving the civic content, missing the z content dearly :(
I will be pumping out some Z work in the near future! I have some big news coming 😁
Thank you for these very detailed videos. I have the same car and some of these mods are ones I am considering, so I know where to go if I decide to do it.
I love the smiles our Hondas put on our faces , specifically because of vtec.
Couldn't agree with you more brother! 🙌
Awesome video! So is it fine to leave the two outlets on the throttle body open or did I miss something?!
Love your vids bro
Thanks Riya 👊
been binge watching and have almost the same setup , just waiting on my rbc!!
by any chance could you tell me what exact base map was used ?
Love my FG4!
Trying to follow the engine build. So is the custom k24 engine that you had last year built and installed? Me and a friend were thinking of doing it ourselves and would love a guide so we can avoid any pitfalls.
Love your videos man, always so detailed. I also have my 9th gen for almost 3 year now and I'm planning on doing some mods this summer. How's the intake during winter time? I live in Edmonton and kinda worried it might not be a good idea to use this during winter season.
I'm happy to hear that man! You're really going to enjoy upgrading your 9th gen. No issues with the intake what so ever. Just make sure you keep your fender liners intact, and you'll be set. Hope that helps!
Thank you, that helps a lot. Can't wait to upgrade my civic too🙏🏼
Glad to see you making videos again!! I'm a Nismo 370z owner. You tutorial is top knotch and the intake quality is on point. However that's a large amount of work for just an intake. I was just waiting for you to have to remove the rear bumper for this install haha! When i seen you reach for the ECU I was like "Jesus!". Do you think it's worth it?
Hey Jay! Welcome back :) I would have to agree with you in saying there is alot of work to do for this cold air intake, however the performance gain and ease of maintenance I think is well worth it! Also, I don't know of any other company on the market that offers a carbon fiber intake. Win-win!
Sounds better than my K&N imo. I'd switch to one, but no flashpro yet. Trying to find an unlocked second hand one for a more reasonable price. I'm not so worried about driving it through unexpected rain, however I am worried about flash flood puddles here in AZ. I have a beautiful bone stock 93 LS400 as my "comfy, quiet" daily driver especially for select conditions lol.
So the coolant feed to throttle body is completely eliminated? I’m confused on that part the two coolant ports on the bottom of the throttle body are just left without any lines ran to both the top and bottom? Any clarification will be greatly appreciated.
Hey man! Thanks to you im well on my way to going FBO, waiting for one more part. Waiting for my PRL adapter kit. For the CAI and downpipe what map did you use for the time being?
Happy to hear that brother! As for the tune, there were a bunch in there basically for every step of the way to go FBO, however the more modified your car is, the more important a Pro-tune is. Hope that helps 👊
I do have a 9th gen si coupe. It’s crazy that I can appreciate a 200 or less hp engine as much as my Turbo h22.
I feel that man! You don't need crazy high HP to have fun. This little civic might not even break 200whp, and I love it!
How do I replace the alternator on a 2006 Camry 2.4L? The last guy broke the boss you are supposed to use to get slack on the serpentine belt. Mom's mechanic showed me some tool he used to replace the belt, but every serpentine belt tool I find is a skinny breaker bar.
How do I loosen the belt with a broken boss?
Milan, one thing you need to do is update this video and tell everyone, that if they have a command head unit (Nav touchscreen radio) from the factor, in their Civic, that they need to make sure they have the radio code number on hand before disconnecting the battery. The radio gets bricked with need a code to unbrick it when the battery is disconnected.
You need to make sure to let everyone know this before they follow your instructions and then they discover they don't know where their code is and can't unlock their radio command head unit.
please consider going with a Kraftwerks SC kit for this car! its a pretty reliable kit out of the box and it mimics the responsiveness of being NA but you get more top end and it sounds sooo good! easy 320-330whp and the torque will still be low enough where you wont have to build your trans right away!
There were two coolant ports to the left unplugged what do I do with those?
Do you need a tune ? If u just do the intake ? No check engine light ?
Little worried to run this intake in the rain is there anything I can do to prevent hydro locking
is the plastic manifold good for performance?
Are those two ports on the throttle body not covered again? Like with a hose??
Thank you so much! What is the diameter of the pcv hose?
What Hondata base maps did you use to run the car?
Awesome video how to install👍👍👍
Thanks Johnny! I appreciate that 👍
which tune did you end up using with the hondata
8th gen ✊🏽
Do any hoses connect to those 2 coming down from the throttle body?
You should look into an Anti Gravity Lithium battery. 8.5 pounds. 1000 cranking amps. Group 51R. Made a huge difference in my Civic, its weird but the car runs and accelerates smoother. Not to mention it starts up quicker. Super cool mod I know you'll love.
That's insanely light lol I looked into them for my JCW since its my track car, but the price for them is a bit steep. I'll have to save up for one, but defs on the wish list lol
@@milanmastracci - Damn if I was rich I'd buy you one ha! But seriously once you hold it, you'll never, EVER, want to use a lead acid battery again.
@@milanmastracci - Forgot to mention, my brother and my cousin both have Civics, once they saw mine and held it, along with the self start fob feature, they both got one. 3 of them in our family and growing haha
I've always considered getting this intake, though I'm worried about hydrolocking as some puddles in my area can be as deep as small pools.
As long as you have your fender liner on your car, you have nothing to worry about 👍 It is actually a lot harder than you think to hydrolock your engine lol
What does that brown wire plug on the positive battery cable go too?
i know this video is old. but im looking at getting a CAI for my 9th gen, specifically the Acuity one? have you had any issues with hydrolocking. im in the same area as toronto and plan on possibly driving in the winter as well. but as for summer, have you had any issues with hydrolocking.
Hydrolocking is never an issue, unless you're running no fender liners for whatever reason, or if you're driving through 1+ foot of water, which I've never seen in my life. You'll have no issues driving it on regular roads here in Ontario.
If money is no object then I would really dream of building this for myself to reality. 😭 Question though, what's the vertical clearance of the air intake from the ground? I'm concerned as it would really limit you when you would have to wade through flood water (considering it's location being pretty low behind the flood lamp, I would be afraid of crossing flood water or at least be caught in it) I asked cause here in the Philippines we go through an average of 20 typhoons maybe more per year and since we're near the equator and the Pacific we really experience flooding from time to time. 🫠 But still I love Honda Civic and we have here the 2009 A/T model but for some reason I'm having trouble finding out the variant as we are already the third set of hands to own it. I hope this comment finds you and thank you for this amazing series! Definitely a subscriber for life haha ✨💯
Which Hondas base tune did you use after install
So are you not cooling the throttle body? The CZcams video from acuity bypasses the throttle body, but later in the video, it looks like they have undone the bypass.
I'm considering this install, and really don't know much. Maybe that's the whole point of the CAI, not having to cool the throttle body.
What tune did you run for this set up
anyone know if this video can be used to install the skunk2 cold air intake for 9th gens?
like the same directions?
That's a legit intake.
Amen dude! Acuity killed it with this one!
You would happen to have that stock intake system would you
How do you keep your engine bay this clean?
Awesome makes me want to buy a Honda
Do it! You won't regret it lol
@@milanmastracci ayeee thanks for the insight
Hybrid racing for the short shifter, downstar for hardware drip
I've heard a mix of reviews from the HR shifter. Do you have it?
@@milanmastracci my bro has it 2 yrs now no problems whatsoever
Looking to install this intake on the 8th gen accord. Can it be done?
What size was the lower coolant hose? I didn't get that with my intake unfortunately. Anyone got a size on it?
🔥🔥🔥
Almost FBO!!! 🙌
@@milanmastracci you'll definitely make good low end tq with the stock manifold. The tune will transform it 💪
At 19:30 you’re using the provided coolant bypass hose. Unfortunately I bought mine used and mine is missing this. Can I use the OEM (cut trim) coolant hose and connect it to the upper outlet assembly to the bottom? If not do you know a place where I can buy it? No idea what size it is also. Thanks!
If you can cut the factory piece and get it to work, sure by all means, do it! As far as the hose goes, you should be able to buy whatever kind of rubber hose on amazon, given you find out the ID (inside diameter). I don't know what it is off the top of my head.
@@milanmastracci thank you!
hey milan will you be able to find me the part# for the plastic frame covers that attach to fender and cover the front frame rails
Hey Dayne! Do you mean the plastic fender liners in the wheel wells? If you can give me a time stamp of my video, and show me that way which part you're looking for, maybe I can help :)
Acuity no longer sells this cai, I just found one but it’s missing the Intake Mounting Bracket with rubber isolation mount and hardware. Any idea of how I could get my hands on that or could you send me the dimensions of the bracket, thread etc so I can get one custom made? I’ve bloomed everywhere but can’t find it for my install. Please help😢😢😢
hm, those bumper retention brackets underneath the headlights were plastic on my accord 8th gen, so they do not rust. And I found out the hard way it's better to mask it when removing... :( Luckily it was only the topcoat, I think I can still buff it out.. hopefully.
Really nice kit though, im impressed by the build quality.
Yeah they can get a bit rusty and gross over time! I might replace them entirely if the rust does come back, but we'll see. The black paint looks good for now 👍
I'm impressed with the kit too. It doesn't seem like a cheap half-ass bunch of parts from China thrown together in a box, and then called a 'kit'. I dig it!
Hey Brother, I'm planning on swapping k24 into my 91 isuzu pickup truck. What rear wheel drive transmission do you recommend?
Look up a Nissan CD009 or even Honda S2000 transmission
@@milanmastracci cool, I was thinking the s2000 as well, but I figured if there was something else that you would recommend. Thanks again. 😀
Yesssirrr
🙌🙌🙌
*Is this 50 State Smog legal?*
How do you change the air filter if it's down there? Do you have to take off the bumper everytime?
To get access to it later, you would have to remove the front bumper, or the fender liner, however it doesn't get dirty being in that location.
@@milanmastracci thanks for the reply!
So what’s the total HP and Ib torque upgrade
How did you keep under the hood so clean and pristine?
A simple clean from time to time does wonders 👍
With what though? What is safe on seals , electronic parts, etc
I’ve seen people spray stuff all over but I’m hesitant
Anything for a CRV 2012 😢?
That’s a quality kit tbf. Hybrid Racing’s intake on a DC5 Type R which is similar is shocking compared to this.
Yeah it really is a COMPLETE kit! I'm really impressed with it
I have a question, will the rbc intake fits on the crv 2006 s9a 2nd gen.?
The CRV is head specific, so if you have a K24A, or K24Z engine, it will work, however you may need different adapters to get them to work.
@@milanmastracci mine is k20a, so it wont work then :( i was looking at rbc intake that will fit k20a's head. need more research.
So how much extra horse power and torque are you getting with this mod?
not much even with the pro tune
3hp at best
the Oem 9th gen intake is much more efficient
What basemap did you use ?
I used one of the included maps from Hondata, and then tweaked it a bit for my likings
The carbon intake piece reminds me of a Ziplock Bag not sure why lol
Can I just remove the factory intake resonator ?
I don't see why not lol I did in my Accord and it sounded better
I know it’s a long shot but any way you’re selling all the stock air intake stuff?
Currently trying to put my car back to stock. Previous owner kind of butchered everything.
Hey Devon, not that I plan on reverting my civic back to stock anytime soon, I'm still holding onto the stock parts just in case. Have you checked eBay or Car-part.com?
Wont this just hyrdolock the engine if you go through a puddle
Why completely remove the hoses leading to the throttle body assembly?
On a car that will not see winter, warming up the throttle plate with the engine coolant is not necessary, and will only lead to higher intake temperatures, which will rob power from the engine.
I miss the 370 content, did you sell??
I did not thankfully! It will be getting some love shortly 👍
My emissions light is on does anyone know what to do
Wow that’s a lot of work for an intake
quagmire got a civic 😱 giggity giggity
😂😂
