    If you take care of your Corolla, then it will last you forever. Once you get it paid off you can spend the next few decades saving up a ton of money without that monthly car payment being deducted from your paydays.

    It may not be the cheapest and certainly not the fastest but it will last longer then all these turbocharged and full time direct injected cars. People complain about the 4Runner being slow but it’s fair to say it will last much longer than an eco boost car or that it will breakdown a lot less. Props to the big T for not selling hype machines. You don’t really have to if your on top.

      Toyota prioritizes reliability and durability above virtually everything else about their vehicles. Their reputation on those factors is all important in terms of sales. But it does come at a price in terms of innovative design and engineering. And while Toyota typically ranks above other brands in terms of those factors, the actual risk of problems among various brands is both far less than even a decade ago and among the most reliable brands close to equal for purchasers who keep a car for, say, seven years or so. If I were buying a compact pickup I expected to abuse and neglect, Toyota would be my first choice. What's good enough for ISIS terrorists is good enough for me. But in my case, I take good care of my vehicles and haven't experienced a single breakdown in any vehicle I've owned for the last 20 years.

      Those turbocharged engines are not as reliable which is why Toyota doesn't make then in the Corolla and other models. Honda had problems with it the CRV. Toyota is focused on reliability and quality. Toyota has the most reliable CVT

    I think this is the first video that Joe didn’t have to put an emoji on the speedometer while driving. Love how Joe can review a $300K Lamborghini and a $26K Corolla and still give both cars a proper and thorough review. I also really appreciate how Joe emphasized his height and gets in the back seat and shows how much room he has as well as the comfort level. Not many reviewers actually do this consistently but Joe does this on every video. The irritating thing about Doug DeMuro is that he’ll get back in the 3rd row of an SUV and contort himself to talk to the camera and never mention how usable or unusable that space actually is. Joe keeps it real and entertaining as well.

    Also, when showing the interior, bring the camera closer to the main dash. When on the touch screen, have the camera right up against it so we can see better.

    Is it just me or is the trend of car companies putting cheap looking “tablet” control systems annoying. Sure it looks good in a top of the line luxury vehicle where the screens are decent resolution and the bezels are relatively thin, but the ones that look like whats in this car are just ugly imo

I like it, but I want another 20+ NA horsepower, a Scion-type audio package with something like a Pioneer head unit, stiffer suspension, louder muffler, and more aggressive seat bolsters. I am debating, I have a 2012 honda civic love the car, but I want to get a new car would you recommend the new Corolla or should I get the civic I feel like the civic is more engaging to drive however I feel like the Corolla without the turbo will be more reliable. What should I get? I just want some thoughts for a long term car.

    • @alvinsimba734
      @alvinsimba734 Před 3 lety

      Grach2020 I got some answers for you. 2020 honda civic lx is ok but compared to.lower trim of the corolla meaning the L, LE. For both of those trims the L and LE they come with blindspot monitoring in which the 2020 honda lx doesn't come with and on top.of that in hondacivic lx model the eco mode for best fuel mileage works fine but it turns A/C off as well which is a no no. This honda civic lx that I'm describing here is the 2.0 litre non turbo engine, whereas with toyota corolla LE especially the eco mode is on default and does not compromise the functionality of A/C in which the honda does. No lumbar seat in civic either and also avoid the 1.5 litre turbo for oil dilution. For lower trims with corolla it comes with 1.8 litre with cvt of course and most features get in LE can go head to head with honda civic ex model with the exception of honda civic ex getting the sunroof which for me personally i don't care much about. Corolla does not come with turbo either which is a win in itself.
