When you're taking the center window controls out, take the vents out first and push the panel forward. You'll avoid scuffing up the plastic with this approach.

I finally purchased my new head unit and backup camera and will be installing them tomorrow. Did you have to wire your backup camera into your taillights so that it would turn on when you go into reverse, or do you just have it controlled through the stereo itself?
What size are those lil bolts , im missing some on mine..

I'm very confused with the rp4 ch11 wiring connection chart.
It really doesn't make any sense to me which wires to connect to what.
Did it make your speakers louder and more clear? I'm looking into this exact head unit for my 13 wrangler. I have already upgraded the four main speakers (the two in the sound bar and the two in the front by your knees) I upgraded them to the Kicker ones and would love to know if this stereo is worth the upgrade as I am needing it to be louder yet clear while the top is off. Thank you!
I would think that volume would be related to the amplifier rather than the stereo head
Going to do this same install this weekend. Are you happy with the spot you have the usb for CarPlay coming out. Was thinking of putting this at the cig lighter spot beneath the radio but I’m not sure if that is possible.
Yeah, I like having it up top because I have a phone mount on my windshield so it’s a good spot.
can anyone help me out? i have my kenwood tablet in my car but the increasing volume button and everything on the top of the tablet stopped working. what can i do?

Off of the rp4-ch11 what wires did you connect? Did you leave the jack loose and connect the blue and white? If so where did you connect the blue and white wire from the module? I have the same exact radio and can’t figure that one out. 11:34

Yes, works great.
Do your steering wheel controls still work? Mine didn't work even with the PAC module
Yes they work great. You may want to check your connections and make sure everything is connected correctly. They should still work if you connected everything correctly. You also have to set the small dial on the pac to your brand of radio. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

@@14JesusC no everything worked as it should. You might check with a volt meter and see if power is coming through the pac. If not you may have gotten a bad pac. If so you may have gotten a bad radio. Just to be sure the ref wire on the pac connects to the red wire on the radio. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Also you might check and make sure you didn’t blow a fuse during installation.
I got a grand Cherokee with this same setup and I can’t figure out where the blue/yellow wire off the sec module goes or the plug coming off it, and I’m getting no sound lol any help would be greatly appreciated since I’m stumped 😂
Not sure on that one. Mine did not have a blue/yellow wire. I have a blue/white that’s the amp turn on wire

Do u need to wire the park brake and reverse light ? Or without will your reverse light and park brake still work ? There just sensor wires ?
I did not have to wire reverse or parking brake. The module tells the radio when in reverse.

@@cheeser6886 I don’t know. I had to trim the stock surround to get the radio to fit. Not sure if you can make it work with the stock mounts.
Does the kenwood turn on and off with the car?
Yes, there is a delay in my jeep for a couple minutes unless the door opens, then it goes off
I’m having a hard time wiring I connected the yellow wires with the red. To get it to power up. Idk if that’s correct.? If you have any advise
@@FATLEHAZE22 Honestly, it’s been a while since I installed mine and I used a wiring guide I got from crutchfield. I don’t remember how I wired it. Usually you will have a accessory wire that’s only hot when the car is on and a power that’s always hot that keeps power to the radio for saving settings and presets etc. I believe yellow is usually the accessory wire
Actually the red is the accessory (powered when key is on) and yellow is full time powered off battery. Check page 51 of manual manual.kenwood.com/en_contents/attachDownload/101574

Can i use CZcams through the screen
I don’t believe so. It uses the apps from the connected phone, but only some, not all. It has the CZcams music app but not the full CZcams app
If you want to spend the money the magic box device will allow that...also gives you wireless carplay or android auto
Pitiful install, unit sits back behind the bezel leaving a nice gap at the top and the bottom , if you installed that in my Jeep I wouldn’t accept it .
