Getting the body of the 1965 Mustang to fit the 2015 S550 rolling chassis part 16

- It is a big day for the appearance of progress on the Mustang build. With a bit more trimming we get even closer to getting the body all the way onto the S550 chassis. I think the end of drilling spot welds is getting near. Some decisions will have to be made as to how this car will look exactly.

I see you have jumped on the Mustang Resto Mod bandwagon!!!! I thought had a little more restoration originality than that. Vtuned, B is for build, Westin Champlin, now you!! You dont need to copy those people do you for your channel to be good????
Check your dates my friend to see who started all this!
@@vehcor dude, this is next level restoration / creation / innovation. you're the man and I would like to see what "chronoboat" can do.
Scott started this before anyone. Double check the facts before you start accusing people of copying
@@powershop1903 Sadly, there are no videos on the Chronoboat page. We may never see what he can do!
Scott started his 3 weeks before bisforbuild and westerns is a Cummins swap .....also vtuned started after everyone
I have never seen an early mustang taken apart so completely and a late model as well. You are writing the book on this. Accolades on your skills, knowledge, and chutzpah
I've never ever seen anyone drill out spot welds so fast. I'm seriously impressed. Great build.
This car is turning me into the spot weld whisperer! 😂
I've never seen craftmanship like this dude puts out...One of the best in the United States of America....
Congrats bro...!!!✌✌✌❤😎🇺🇸👍
Tim Allen tuned that drill and saws all
@@gregholmes3661 Did Tim also teach him to operate the sawzall upside down?
Cause you can always just flip the blade...
@@disgruntledegghead6923 with dewalt, you can also turn it sideways. If you turn it sideways on the dewalt on the top you can pretty damn near a flush cut to the edge of the shoe. I owned one for 2 years before a co-worker showed me that trick lol....
Tuning in once again to the channel where the words can't and no are not part of the vernacular. You keep me on the edge of my seat.
Using words like can’t means you have defeated yourself before even trying. It took me a while to learn that. One of the small benefits to getting old! 😂
What a great accomplishment to end on for taking a break from the project. I know I say it every time but your craftsmanship amazes me and this project is proof of it. Excited to see next video on this project but always excited to see the weekly video on any project you work on. Thank you for posting your videos for us to enjoy, you’re doing a fantastic job!
Thanks for the support!
Amen
I like seeing how different shops do similar swaps, Good job!
Same with the F100 swaps on crown Vic frames. Like to see it done different ways.
"I'll be as shocked as you are" 😂 great channel, great build!👍🏼
Sometimes the tape measure lies! lol
vehcor 😂 keep goin man, you seem to be gettin the hang of it!
"Other projects that actually make money"
What I'm hearing is that we need to get this channel boosted so it's making the money... totally not for selfish reasons of wanting to see more of this build.... totally.
Well, he's only got 110K subs the others have over a million (b is for build) .....when he gets up there he'll make a decent living out of the videos alone. As long as youtube doesn't keep screwing things up.
The more money the channel makes, the more I put back into it. It really is just a nice distraction especially in the winter. Thanks for the support!
@@vehcor I hit the like button automatically even if the video sucks (hehehe) because a) it stops it from appearing on my main page and b) because youtube's algorithm will recommend it to other people who like the same automotive channels I do...maybe get you some more subs.
There was one from V tuned on his rebuilding a ram truck that I had no interest in watching that stuck around my main page like a bad smell. I had to click on it and stop it just to get rid of the damn thing.
I'm unsure if this channel will ever get the number of subs of some of those other channels. No stockpiles of brand new parts being thrown together and welded up, just secondhand parts fixed up with more secondhand parts, and bolted onto yet more secondhand or salvaged parts. As much as I like to watch frankenstein coming together, some people won't.
This is the proper way to recycle old car parts.
This is such a great build, and its being done right. Thanks for all the effort you go to in producing these videos.
Cheers
Thanks for the support!
18:22, maybe instead of side skirts you could have side pipes to hide the area of the exposed 2015 floor. I watched the whole series of the build and I can't wait to see all your future episodes of building this awesome Mustang Restomod.
I love your videos man. Keep them coming. I'm an IT guy. Don't know anything about the rebuilding of cars. However, I learned a lot watching how you're working, i'm sure there's not a single screw that remains unscrewd in the correct place when you're finished. 🤗
Thanks, glad to hear it!
Misspelled unscrewed and used it wrong IT guy 🤣 Just messing with you. I'm glad you are learning. Try passing on the passion to someone who will pass it on. Kinda like herpes.....lol
Hope it’s not too long a break. You make a great video. Really enjoy this build and all your content. 👍👍
Thanks, I’ll work as fast as I can but I’m old so that is not as fast as it once was. 😂
vehcor I hear that! Now that I’m old too, I get 1/3 done in 3x the time. Take your time. Make the money. Get back on this great build when time permits. I’m sure we’ll all be here, anxiously waiting... 😊
Love your attention to detail and your dry humor. This is gonna be solid when you’re done!
Great work. I like the way you think seven steps ahead, so that when you get to the point of final fitting, that everything is in the right place and the right length. I had to laugh when you swapped to the claw hammer. The person who suggested that in the comments last week will be thrilled. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this build, but in the meantime, whatever you are working on is always interesting. We very much appreciate that you take the time to make these videos, as I know it slows the work down, not to mention the time editing and answering posts. Stay safe over there and as always, all the best from Queensland Australia.
Always plan ahead and have a contingency plan because things will always go wrong. It saves time in the long run. I have a few more hammers to keep everyone happy! 😂
True sign of a professional, making it look easy .
An amateur does it till they get it right .
A professional does it till he can't get it wrong .
I really can't wait til you have this build of the 1965/2015 mustang done!! It's going to look just EPIC!! Love watching your videos & the rebuilds you do!! Keep up the hard work Vechor!!! 👍👍👍
I like your videos before I even watch them and this dad totally appreciated the joke lol thank you for sharing I look forward to the boring build and Ford Fridays every week. Hope you have a great weekend!!
Dad approved! 😂 Thanks for the support!
100% dad approved 😂 you’re welcome!!
I had a 67 years ago... freakin rust bucket. We do , however, live in western NY so... winter salt kills... lol. Great job on all of your builds!!
Yep, Chicago uses the rust accelerator like pixie dust as well! Thanks for the support!
that was a real issue back in the 60's and 70's, then for a while they started doing things to prevent it, then in the 2000's Ford said "what, our trucks aren't rusting? well, we gotta put a stop to that" then went about doing things specifically to make their vehicles rust out. Like using duct tape to cover holes in the rockers (which falls off the first year) putting water absorbing foam in the rear fenders (which causes them to rust away in 4 years) and not putting any protection on the cab corners.
Ford Friday is pretty cool. I am enjoying the Mustang build. It is very cool to see this come together.
Hand clap!! It is fun to watch this come along. Thanks for including us on it.
Thanks and thanks for watching!
Outstanding craftmanship! Enjoying this build and learning how a professional does it.
U are the best builder and experienced I’ve saw u explain very well
Hands down the best build channel out there !!!!!!!!!!!! Seems like no one except vehcor and DIY gang have more worn out more drill bits from spot welds !! Great work and keep the hilarity coming
Those darn drill bits... quitters! 😂
Hello Vehcor, Friday night's mean only one thing? Spot welds, Blimey you must be sick of the sight of those thing's & Nutz!!!! That Ford just keeps on giving 😁 Great job as always Sir.
Love your work scotty watched all previous videos now up to date ,still loving it ,hope lots more to come 👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺
I watched the first one and ended up binge watching them all. Great build.
Thx for the vid. I always wanted a vehicle that old school body with modern interior/drivetrain . I will keep watching .
I am glad that you have the talent to take this project on Scott!!
Watching you cut everything to pieces really puts into perspective just how nuts this build is. And to think, I was sweating swapping headlights on my 4runner this weekend...
Seriously missing this build hope you get back into this soon!!
Looking forward to seeing it finished!!
Really enjoy watching your approach to the conversion, I know a few others are doing the conversion but there is more than one way to skin a cat. Stay safe and healthy and thank you for your videos.
Yep, I support all the other guys as well.
I like the way you do the right way to do things. I think this project is a lesson for all the others out there doing this type of project that are doing it what we would call hacked up. Yes hacking still works and there's a lot of welding involved instead of drilling but I just think it's nice to see the way it should be done. Thanks for great entertainment and knowledge.
Best video yet, even Mr Spotty agrees. The lowering of the body reminded me of the Apollo moon missions and the docking of the the LEM to the command & service module. Precisely done! Love the out takes. Now if I can make it one more week!
This is such a great build. love the detail in this. I'm hooked on this. This is making me do another build.
Thanks, good luck on your build!
I have been watching ALL of your videos... at least I think I have got em all... and I LOVE them. Found you with this mustang build as I have been a mustang fan for as long as I can remember.... and THIS is the build that I am most interested in. I'm enjoying your current videos but I'm really hoping you will have the opportunity to get back to this one.
Slow and steady progress. Looking forward to the next part! Great build, never boring at all!
I’m in no rush, just enjoying my time building it when I can. Thanks for the support.
The LAST pic shown in this video looks mean; wheels & tires sticking out and YOU did it all. I really love how the two cars bonded together so well as you (already) knew they would and we hoped with confidence! I always feel like we are the fifth wheel holding up progress. You would be able to get much further without explaining yourself along the way. (NO I can't apologize because I love it all too much)! I think it very impressive that you are actually joining both cars rather than be a 'framer' and hang the new sheetrock on the old walls (if you follow what I'm trying to say)! Anyway, Scott, thanks much for yet another new one and look forward to next week for WHATEVER project you choose to work on. Stay safe! Sonny (CT)
My plans always work, sometimes! I can’t afford new sheet rock. I have to use reclaimed products. 😂
This build is nuts... I laughed. Dad's will love that one. Yup, I sure did!
Dad approved! 😂
Confidence is everything , not many can works around razor edge sheet metal bear handed without getting stitched up at some point 🤕👏👏👏
Great work on this build and all your videos. Immensely enjoy them.
Glad to see I'm not the only talented lunatic out there and I hate to tell you I do the same thing I draw little smiley faces on crap and put them all over the place I'm 64 and I'm still doing wild projects like what you're doing so I watch younger guys like you do this and it makes me feel good you're a master keep up the good work
That last shot of the mocked-up car looks GREAT! If you could see that when you first started this project with two cars, then you see things most people (myself included) can't.
Looks just like I thought.... just a little taller. 😂
I love this build. The best mustang build on you tube.
Vechor you continue to amaze me, I can't believe the things I see you do. I restored model A and model T Fords For sixteen years after retiring. The contrast between modern day cars and those of yesteryear
are revolutionary. I enjoy your ethics in doing it right and the lack of frustration you present ! n. Keep up the good work. 👍
THe Mustang build is what actually had my interest. Watching new buildings being built is fine but so is restoring a Mustang.
Great channel! Love watching all of your builds but the Mustang is really interesting. You are a true craftsman and your skill levels is off the charts. The Mustang looks so good just sitting on that chassis already. That is going to be an awesome vehicle...keep em' coming!!!.
I am very glad you're forward thinking enough to brace the rear end for when the Mustang backs into the crowd. #brilliant
Those Mustangs just go where they want... gotta be prepared! 😂
Oh man... that 60's body with some big fat fenders on it is going to look siiiiiiiick...
I hope so!
"In car camera"! Made me chuckle Scott🙂
Good n smart work on this project.
Thanks for the support.
Looking good. The conjoined car has a mean stance. It gives the '65 body a great look. When it's done it will be beautiful.
Thanks, I want to get it a little lower but I do like the wide stance.
What a job! Thank you for sharing. Hoping to see the finished product soon.
Thanks, hopefully for next summer!
This channel keeps getting better. Thanks.
Thanks!
Damn she’s starting to look the part now keep up the great work from the U.K.
Thanks! Best wishes from the USA 🇺🇸
I love what you're doing with this 65 Convertable. My 1st Mustang was a 65 Convertable and I've also drilled quite a few spot welds out in my Mustang/Shelby days. Keep up the great work. Subbed and going to watch this one from the beginning.
This was awesome! Really ambitious build! Excited to see more progress! (Also really liked the "blooper reel")
Great to see it all coming together Scott, fantastic work! 👍
Thanks for the support!
That’s awesome! I can just see wide body fender flares and just plain badass! Great job!
Thanks!
It’s been a while since you have been on this build I have and have many others been waiting for a new episode.
Many before you have failed this marriage between old and new.
But I thought Vechor will do this build and show everyone how it’s done.
Let’s hope sometime soon you can get back on this build and show us an awesome completed old v’s new build.
Looking forward to this everyday please build this car.
Man I love your content!!!! You always do amazing work I've learned so much just by watching your channel! You need to give yourself a raise! Lol
Looking forward to you keeping this build going Thanks
I have no intention of stopping but I have to make money first. This money pit can wait. lol
Glad to Mr. Spotty is happily back on the job.
Back, yes. Happily 🤷🏼♂️
looking good it takes a lot of work for a project like this to come together.Great work.
Another great Friday video thanks
Thanks for the support!
Ford Friday's are the best!
Especially the Focuses. 😂
Good progress, can’t wait to see more!👍
Thanks, I’ll get back to it as soon as I can.
Thanks for the Mustang Update.
For the fun of it, or just plain boredom, I went back and looked at all the past videos. It's hard to believe that you have accomplished all of this in less than 6 hours of work!
Scott it's looking amazing already ....hell of a job my friend you definitely have a gift.....keep those great videos coming
Thanks for the support!
Scott has a plan and it will top anyone’s builds. Yes I enjoy the other mustang builds but Scott is the best
Thanks for the support!
Keep up the great work you are amazing!! Thank you for all the videos
Man I'm nothing but impressed. I had to SS your video to show my father. Can't wait to see how you connect it all together!
Thanks for the support! 😂
I don't know why, but I didn't get a 'notification' till now. I love Ford Fridays, best part of my week!
Man that's starting to look deadly dope, you should be very proud of yourself, that's a ton of foresight and design also sweat.I need more boring builds.
Great work.. thanks for the laughs.. I needed it. Had a rough day. Be safe have a great weekend Scott. Watching the magician is always a blast.
Thanks, have a great weekend as well!
Loved it. Bring it back soon please !
Thanks, I try to get back as soon as I can.
Love this build, the new inside car camera is a nice touch too.
Thanks!
I have waited three weeks for this Ford Friday and now knowing that its going to be a while before we see more progress actually makes me sad... As always great job and keep it up! Good to see the body finally in place. Will stick with this build no matter how long it takes!
I wish I didn’t have a job and responsibilities so I could just work on this all the time. Maybe I’ll find another Ford to build to make money on. Then we both win! Thanks for the support!
@@vehcor That is the ultamate dream is it not but keep up the great content and you might just get there. If you make it through drilling out half a milion spot welds ... the possibilitys are endless👌
Wow learned some interesting things as braces in door opening to keep proper fit and not buckling into2. You are really good at what you do. Your measurements from cutting 65 on to new pony are incredibly close. Doing 1 more car is on my bucket list.
There are so many mustang rebuilds going on right now, I can't wait to see your version getting done, the peanuts discovery was hilarious and awkward at the same time lol!
All different methods, all different uses. I think it is cool and I don’t care if people copied me or just came after me, we are all here because building cars is fun! More power to anyone that wants to jump on the bandwagon!
Man she’s looking good!!!! Looking foreword to getting her done👍🇺🇸
Of all the old mustang body on a new mustang chassis builds, I think yours absolutely has the best chance of being a high quality finished product. You seem very methodical and actually think out what you do to the car before you do it.Those are going to be some wide fender flares.I think some form of side pipes could work for making the rockers look proportional.
I did think about the side pipes as well.
I love this built.. You are very methodical. Very entertaining!
Thanks for the support!
Great progress sir!
Thanks!
Nice build ! Like the idea of side pipes to cover the area below the 65 sills
Watch Wes Work sent me. I just finished binge watching this Mustang series and going back to start & watch all videos from start. Needless to say, you have a new fan & subscriber. Can't wait to see this Mustang done!
Thanks for the support. I just checked out his channel and even though I don't watch many, I think his is a must.
I think that is the coolest car I have seen. Great series.
Thanks!
Another professional job. Good work.
Thanks!
Its lookin real good. Can't wait to see more. Thanks.
Thanks for the support!
Great show keep up the good work!
That’s going to be one cool car when finished...
That in-car camera was awesome to watch the body come down. Was oddly satisfying. Lol Coming along nicely, man. Good stuff!!
Hate that you’re having to put Ford Friday on hold for a while Scott, but I am a fan of your craftsmanship and work ethic. I enjoy your smart ass sarcasm and would buy one of your builds anytime. Thank you for the content and I look forward to every Friday’s post.
That was bad ass the way you dropped the body on slowly ✌😇 nice work
Can't wait to see the next installment, come on let's get going!lol
It is looking good. Can’t wait to see more!
A marvel of modern engineering!
Having skinned a Miata with a Volvo P1800ES body , I am having a lot of fun watching someone else drill spotwelds. You make it all look a bit easier than it really is. Looking forward to seeing how you blend the sills.
I like the way that you take care of the small fitment details without cutting edges. It's looks like a classic mustang with steroids. I'll be waiting for the next video
12:08 "Is this the right hammer?"
12:22 Yes
I guess we'll have to wait until spring to see more progress. Good things come to those who wait.
I have more hammers to misuse! 😂
It’s actually starting to look like a sweet car ! , it will certainly turn heads and make a good talking point , can’t wait 😊.
