- Upgraded my 98' S10 4.3l Vortec 4300 from stock exhaust to a Flowmaster Super 40 that splits into dual out. Sounds amazing gets lots of compliments from everyone that hears it. It still has the stock cat on it. the new pipe is still original size.

4.3 is the best v6 sounding ohv engine
ford 3.8 sounds good too better than gm's 3.8
What a nice difference that made. Still not quite a V8 sound, but healthy nonetheless.
Holy shit.......sounds like v8 I just got a Sonoma with a vortec 4.3 and it's so quiet stock but with these baby's....ohhhhhh I can't wait :D
I've got a 96 GMC Sierra with the 4.3 V6 it still has the original muffler but I was surprised to see how the 4.3 sounds with the 40s I was not expecting that so I might get myself a set for mine
Hell yeah sounds good! Im putting a full k&n cold air intake system and dual flowmaster super 44 catback on my 01 xtreme in a couple weeks. Ill put a vid up to compare.
I've got an S10 Blazer with a single 40 and a high flow cat. I strongly recommend the high flow cat instead of gutting it. You'll actually lose power gutting the cat.
Jacob Burns what brand of high flow cat
@RIDEinAKallDAY yeah I was really happy with the difference it made.
bout to do that soon.
Night and day
Just read your old posts. Did you lose any back pressure power? Low end take off? Is your performance the same? Please let me know. Thanks
What type of setup do you have? True duels or 1 in 2 out? What size exhaust do youbhave going into the muffler and what size going out? This sounds good. This is exactly what I want!
@Dmite89 yeah I bought the system on ebay....but yeah....it was supposed to fit my truck but in reality it wasn't even close. Had to have it professionally installed. I was there the entire time the guy was putting it on. He had to rebend it, weld new hangers on and everything. The ebay kits don't come close to fitting. plus you over pay having someone to put it on. Just have a muffler shop install a flowmaster if you plan on getting one. you would be out less money then if you got it from ebay.
Flow master 40s are mufflers Spencer. Do cat back super 44 single in dual out. The stock headers are good. Add an intake too. Breathing in is just as important as breathing out. Stock intake snuffs out right where it goes in. The k&n FIPK intake breathes way better!! Saw a side by side comparison. Its night and day different. My xtreme is booked for the beginning of June to go in and have the dual super 44 flowmasters go on. K&n fipk intake is legit! 280 on Amazon. Best price new ive found anywhere.
or save all that money and put it into a better all around truck :/
did you notice a power or more importantly, a fuel economy difference up or down?
My TBI 4.3 sounds killer with one magnaflow
yeah, stock cat then the 40 splits it in to two. It was an ebay kit but the kit wasn't right so a pro had to put it on and he had to re-bend the pipes a bit. So i don't recommend the ebay kits. but I do recommend getting a flowmaster. I love the way it sounds.
whats the whole exhaust? stock cat with flowmater 40 back?
What size tips?
what size pipes u running? the rest is stock on truck?
the pipes are same size as the stock were. from the converter back is new. from the converter up to the engine is stock.
So, you got the cat on still, no muffler and the flowmaster 40's correct? I'm going to pipe my s10 like this.
What models dud you use...🤔
Flowmaster Super 40
Again what flowmaster there's names and models every flowmaster is not the same
Stock sounded better
