I got a reel of the cyberflash over a dozen years ago based on good reviews at the time. Plus, it was very inexpensive. Used it mainly as crosses instead of syn gut. It is so durable, I still have the reel today!
yeeeeeeeeeeee
Mark: Back, as promised, to detail my experience with Tour 1 "Firewire" strings.
6 sided and made for control (stiff).
Stiff is the operative word. The string had very little feel or feedback from the baseline. Even after several hours of play, it still was unresponsive. The ball didn't come off the strings as expected.
At the net, the same was true but, on the positive side, there was a lot of control that a stiff string should bring. Again...no feedback from the shot. The didn't seem to "bounce" off the strings.
Serves and overheads did benefit from the 6-cornered shape. The shots took the spin and moved a bit more agressive than usual. Flat serves took stronger pronation and "whip" to bring them into the service court.
But, as you know, doubles is about placement rather than sheer force. Firewire did a good job here.
Overall, players who want a responsive string (at any tension) might want to avoid Firewire. If you want control and spin, it would work but it will take some time getting used to the added stiffness.
As always, YMMV.
Hello, great video. How does it compare against solinco confidential and isospeed baseline control?
Great videos, I bought the Topspin Cyberblue reel and have been using it since 2016. I might switch to the Cyberflash after this video
Pretty excited to try other Topspin strings
Do you string your rackets at a consistent tension across strings? What is your go to string?
hi mark, just found this review after watching ur latest livestream, do you think this string would work well in a hybrid with natural gut since you said this is basically a better version of Alu Power?
Hello Mark,
I think you should review the Mayami Hit Pro string.
Just played half an hour with the Topspin Cyber SOFT on my Diadem Nova (16*19). Rain kicked in. AMAZING! But, I have to play more hours to be more conclusive.
Hey mark, I've watched you for a while now. I do love your vids and have a string I would like you to test. I use tourna big hitter 7 black, I use it and its my favorite string that I use.
Would it be good on Yonex Ezone DR100 or it would be too stiff? Can You compare it to Solinco Confidential or Tour Bite?
Great! Can you, please review HEAD SONIC PRO and TOURANA PREMIUM POLY? Thanks
Have you compared this string in 16 and 17 gauge?
Great sense of humour. Good insight. 👍🏻
🥰🥰
why do you string one cross ahead of a unweighted cross?
I dont get how the string feels stiff to you, on the contrary i found it one of the softer onces i've tested over the last 18 months. (around 50 different poly's).
My idea is, spin orientated and thus shaped poly's tend to be the stiffer onces.
I think you got a bad badge or something like that, it actually does feel and play like a softer alu power. It's called a poor man's alu power for a reason.
Do agree that Cyber Flash and YPTP are among the best string you can get. Actually, I have 3 strings of choice, and considering price, I think those 3 are unbeatable when it comes to 'getting worth for your money'. The 3 being, YPTP, Cyber Flash and Isospeed Cream are the best value strings you can find.
Ps: Your dog is damn adorable ;)
This is a prefect string for the crosses with natural gut mains ;)
natty gut main? you must be rich.
wait - i KNOW ur rich
Mark, how is the Cyberblue? It's marketed as the softer version of Cyberflash, kind of like hyperG soft. Price points are similar. I am looking to get a reel and having a tough time deciding between the two (cyber blue and cyber flash). Thanks!
I’ve been using cyber blue for over 10 years and really like it . It’s more soft and comfortable than flash , but still crisp and not muted (also tried Solinco and it was too muted for me ) . Past 2 years I’ve been using cyber blue (crosses) and volkl cyclone ( mains) for added spin and love this setup. Dropped the tension a little bit ( 47/49 - Head Gravity Pro, used to play with RF97A) and this hybrid is very arm friendly , but still has that crisp feel with lots of control and added spin thanks to Cyclone in mains. I’ve also tried Cyclone in full bed , but didn’t like it as much . It seems like Cyclone in mains snaps back faster with Blue in crosses ( it’s very smooth comparing to Cyclone gear shaped profile ). Over the years I’ve tried other polys - luxilon , Solinco , gamma , but this hybrid of Cyclone/Blue works the best for me . You can’t beat the price for the reel - around $70 . Tension maintenance and durability are outstanding . Unusually replace them after 3 months , but could continue playing .
@@pavelleskov3482 my friend, thanks for the thorough and very helpful response. I will try it!
I've noticed that you've been using the babolat. Is that the VS version and why did you switch from the head racket
More like why did you switch from the Ezone?
How does it compare to Luxilon 4G? Great vid btw 👍
Stiffer than 4g, but better in every way in my opinion.
Have you tried any Gosen poly strings? It would be interesting to get your thoughts on Polynon. It is a cheaper round poly that I have enjoyed.
Ill put it on the list
I second the want for a Polynon review...thanks
@@darellfeldmiller2890 Awesome! It is a great value string.
I was messing around with some Gosen Polynon today...I strung a Wilson Pro Staff 6.1 with full Gosen Poly at 30 lbs! I wasn't expecting it to play very well due to the extreme low tension. I was wrong...I loved it! It's so inexpensive, you can experiment like this. I have also strung it in a hybrid combo with poly mains and Prince syn gut for the crosses. I liked that too, but have not tried it with an absurdly low tension like the full-bed on the Pro Staff. The hybrid was done on a Radical S at 48 lbs. Why pay more?
@@darellfeldmiller2890 I agree. I have given up on using more expensive options when I have the same playing attributes for a way better price.
Nice doggo 🐕
good girl!
I just restrung my doubles set-up (2019 Yonex Ezone DR) with Tier1 "Firewire" (@60#).
Playing a local tourny this weekend. I'll give you quick "review" of the string performance next week...sans video and sans my tourny results.
I expect us to show-up and challenge the field.
FTR, I am USTA4.0 and 63YO.
Consider myself a "doubles gun fighter" but don't work with any outside expectations; I know my limits.
OK, OK...I know the advice of restringing "new" for tourny.
But, since I am impressed by Tier1 Black Knight...well...why not?
Coincidentally, you (and @IanWestermann) may want to come over to Midland MI to participate in the future; we have 2 unsanctioned tourneys per year.
For this event, we have almost 120 players from across the State registered and Ian would be quite comfortable here...he's been here before...in college.
I didnt know they made the Yonex EZone 98 DR for 2019 - its one of the best rackets ever made!
Isnt 60lbs a bit too high for poly?
Ill take a look at the tournament!
@@MarkSansait Bought it in 2019 so, maybe a 2020 model year.
Agreed, great axe.
60lbs with poly turns into 55lbs in 30 minutes of shake-out.
I'm old school. Continental flat strokes.
Chip and charge doubles.
Check in next week.
Hi which string you recomend for a high power frame like the new pure drive ?
It really depends on your previous strings, ur preference, how often you play, ur gamestyle, etc
@@MarkSansait like 4 times a week, i use kirschbaum maxpower 1.25, i been use hyperg but it gives me a more high launch angle 👎
Mark - isn’t your VS a 18x20 pattern? How is this pattern factoring into your string tests? Still stringing at 55#?
VS is 16x20 - I tested this @ 52lbs.
@@MarkSansait D’oh! So, how does the string compare to Black Knight and Hyper G at 52#?
I just tried this string before you published this video. Spot on review, although in my country this string is dead cheap.
:)))
same here 45€ for a 220metres reel
@@pimmelfresse9033 where is that?
Do you only play with a full bed of poly or do you ever use a hybrid setup?
Full bed only. i break hybrids way too quickly
What about poly:poly hybrid? I find using T1 Ghost Wire crosses feels almost as soft as a multi, spin of a poly and somehow really decent tension maintenance. Have tried it with a few different mains. My favourite is T1 Fire Wire. I have no pecuniary etc.
Strung my Aero Vs with Kirschbaum Suoer smash at 38pds. I think u would love it. I string in 50's with other raquets but inhad a hunch really low would be amazing.
38lbs is like.... a trampoline isnt it?
@@MarkSansait not at all with these strings.
Actually looking to even lower it to 34-36. Which is definitely not something i ever liked before. Lower tension on serves are much easier and rockets! U must try
On this day I found out that I was drop shot resistant. Also, is the dog alright?
I'm no longer hungry
What about kirschbaum pro line ii?
already reviewed it. IMO its not stiff
GENESIS TRUE GRIT GREAT ONE!!!!
😮
My friends would break cyberflash pretty quickly back in the day. Even in a hybrid setup
It still hasn't broken yet for me..I'm quite impressed tbh
All I know is Blue's my man.
*girl
Good

Review a relevant string
What do u mean by relevant?
BWEH!
meh?
Dude slow down ur energy when u show the brand of string packet.. target of video is to give knowledge and not show your style
Are people eating dogs? What’s going on here? And that string is not good.
