Disclaimer: I'm not a professional psychologist, but today's video analyzes C.C.'s thinking, motivations, traumatic events, and her emotional state, so it felt appropriate to call it psychological.
Zero's back this week to talk about Code Geass's best girl! That's right, C.C. is best girl and it isn't even close. This video isn't necessarily about why that's the case, but I'm just putting it out there. Honestly, I'm just gonna come clean right now. It's me, Zero, writing this description. Usually Hoodie does it, but he asked me to do it this time. I don't even know what I'm talking about, man. Anyway, this video's about C.C., Hoodie'll be back next week.

Originally her wish wasn't to die but was to be loved geass couldn't grant that to her as it was a fake love. At the thought elevator, Charles is going to kill C.C but Lelouch tells her that isn't her real wish and he can make it happen. It is the only reason she stopped Charles from killing her. If the Theory of Code geass being lelouch hold ture then he was able to fullfill her contract by obtaining geass to be with C.C and thus give her teh love she so wished for. Thats just my take on it.

I agree and am rather annoyed with most reviews forgetting this important scene, since it really does shift C. C. As a character and her relationship with lelouch. Glad someone else remember this.
And yes, it’s her real wich. (In the new movie, the TV series sequel) CC brings back Lelouch to life, to make keep his promise (to give her a real love) and it’s worked!

And yes, Lelouch did a promises to CC, he promised to give her the love that she never have. And make her smile like she never did.
Yes, but it’s more than that. I feel like Lelouch’s ideals gave C.C. A sense of hope for the world which she always believed was cruel. And it was the first time she felt human, cause she was seen by Lelouch for who she was and didn’t blame her for giving him the geass.
So... Lelouche was able to grant C.C.s Wish?

What do you guys think of that part when Lelouch visits her "memory palace" and, when he comes back and saves her fron the emperor, he shouts at her "Now I know what your true wish is!", even though moments ago she had told him that she just wanted to die?
My interpretation of this is that CC has a deeper wish than just dying. She wanted, from the very start, to be loved and to have a true meaningful, healthy connection with someone. And that's why her Geass manifested in that way. But the love her Geass provided was mere fake. And when she acquired Code, she had to see everyone she gave Geass to become lost from everyone around them.
My point is, the wish for dying comes more from the delusion her journey brought to her than the mere fact that "I have lived too long already". That stated, what Lelouch realized was that her true wish, beyond that, was to be genuinely loved and cared.
And when Lelouch kills the emperor and Marianne, she says "I realized you two only love each other", meaning this was another delusion for her.
Of course, I also agree with the video about her vision of the world, but anyway I think this point might be important.
C.C was lonely. She wanted to die bc she's alone.

Honestly before, I cried when Shirley died because I want her to live for Lelouch but then I saw CC. I do believe that CC and Lelouch has some deep connection than any other.

I always interpreted C2's wish slightly differently.
To me, it seems like C2 never really had a death wish at all-or rather, her death wish was the second, lesser option she chose, when in reality her true wish was the same one she'd had all along-to be loved. Every step along C2's journey involves love to some extent (the nun's love which turned out to be a ruse, the towns people's love which was only the result of Geass, the Britannia family's love which was only a means to their selfish ends, the love of the Geass order due to her position, Mao's love born from desperation and the curse she placed on him, and presumably many other examples throughout her immortal life).
I interpret C2 as always yearning for real love, but as I outlined always being unable to find it, leadin to her death wish. She has essentially lived for centuries without ever making a single genuine human connection, anyone would feel suicidal after that.
The thing that changes her mind isn't simply a desire to spend more time with Lelouch, or her taking Lelouch's optimism about the future to heart, but her choosing to live now that she's finally fealt what real love is-through her relationship with lelouch.
Lelouch has many suitors, but the one he has the closest relationship with is clearly C2, and I don't think it's a stretch to say C2 reciprocates that intimacy. Their relationship never goes anywhere, sexually or romantically (outside of doujins) but they're clearly very close, and could have easily become romantically coupled were it not for the events of the world around them.
That's my read of her character anyway. Good video, very well-developed points.

I can see that interpretation, but personally no. I don't think C2 is self-aware enough to weave a sort of romantic proposal into her contract, I think she's unaware of the real nature of her wish. This is why she breifly goes back to Charles and Marianne towards the end of the series, I think she genuinely believes she wants to die and it takes Lelouch's words to snap her out of that delusion and realise what she really wanted.
And yah, I'd say "romantic" is a fair label to put on me.
Well, she's still a woman after all, and it takes a great man to understand this behavior. Don't get me wrong, it's applicable vice versa.
Or maybe generally speaking, an emotionally damaged human could not comprehend his/her true feelings through words properly, although the actions speaks more vividly.

The nun was using her, the people under her Geass didn’t actually love her, and Mao was simply desperate rather than caring for who she really is. Lelouch is the only person who can truly love her because he knows all of her flaws and dark secrets, but stays with her anyway. True love isn’t just appreciating the good parts, but being able to accept the bad parts and decide that the good parts make it worthwhile. CluClu is a perfect example of true love.

One of them died at the end of season 2 I was very sad
I think more that C2 thought she wanted to die. But her truest wish was to be loved. Because she was a slave she was always tortured. When she received Geass she was able to make everyone love her, but that quickly turned old because she knew that she was forcing people to love her. After many centuries of being immortal and never loved by anyone, she lost hope in that. So she wanted to die as many other teenagers in modern era want to do too. Anyway, her relationship with Lelouch changed her deathwish. Lelouch also understood that her true wish is to be loved. In the final scene, C2 is crying in the chapel. That can be seen as 2 things. She was sad for Lelouch that he became an immortal because she knows how it feels or she cried from happiness that Lelouch became an immortal to be with her. Or both. So, that's some interesting stuff. I hope that R3 won't be a cash grab.
I actually believe she is happy that he choose to take on the curse of immortality to be with her but is also saddened he now bears the same curse as her, yet she is mostly inmesurably happy he will remain by her side forever

Considering that CC has been alive so long, I think that she would still long for death even if she hasn't had people constantly trying to kill her all the time. I'm sure that she tries to avoid getting too close to anyone she can't form a contract with because she knew it would pain her once she outlives them. That being said, I also believe another reason CC grants geass to certain people is not only so that she has a chance to die, but also because she herself craves companionship until her wish is granted.
With Mao, I'm thinking CC left him in the hopes that he would forget about her and go on with his life once she realized that he can't fulfill his side of their contract. She did admit to loving Mao but its also possible that that the geass she granted him also changed and destroyed everything she once loved about him. After such an experience, it makes perfect sense how CC tries not to get too attached to Lelouch since even he has difficulty staying sane sometimes because of his geass.
In the end, I believe one of the reasons CC eventually fell in love with Lelouch was because he was strong where Mao had been weak. While Mao allowed his geass to twist and corrupt him, making him sadistic, cruel, and insane, Lelouch controlled his, refusing to let it destroy him despite the many tragedies wrought by its power, whether willingly or unwillingly on his part.
Yep, that's about the only thing which hypes me for R3 : What will they do with our dear C.C. ?
I really that now that they have proven their quality, the staff will be free to go do whatever they want.

Her wish was NOT to die. I cannot believe how many people mistake her wish.
Her wish was to be loved, really loved by someone she didn’t force to love her, by someone who wouldn’t leave her, as she outlived anyone ever to come into her life.
When L.L said to her “i know your wish now” “I promised you!” “Do you really want to die here!?”
C.C has been looking for someone to make her smile, the person that could make her smile again was the person who wouldn’t leave her.
Her wish wasn't to die, but she did have a death wish.
Lelouch told her i know your grass, your true wish, and it's his promise to make her smile, a promise between human which made her give up on her years of experiment and to become human again, CC got her geass when she was a child, she wanted care and friends and people who loved her, she wasn't looking for an epic love story.
Did you say Empress of the world! Omg I love this, finally someone thinks she deserve to be empress because of her loyalty and hard work, and also Lelouch. only sad this was that is wasn't confirmed or recognized, since she only seems to be an advisor.
I think her real wish is to have someone who truly loves her and stays with her, as Lelouch implied when he was falling to catch C.C. in the world of C. She keeps losing people who loved her to the flow of time, so she got tired of living and wants to rest like the others.

At the end of the series C.c and Lelouch i’ve seen the The alternate epilogue the extended scene of that and it shows it really is Lelouch.
There are actually 3 girls for Lulu. Shirley is the tragic romance, Kallen is the great romance, and CC is the eternal romance.
I am not sure about Kallen x Lulu. I think that she only love Zero.

You know I’ve been thinking of a another relationship that really reminds me of CC and Lelouch. That’s Midna and Link. Midna and CC at first only wanted to use Link and Lelouch for their own self wishes, but over time learned to really care and form a bond with them, eventually changing their minds about what they wanted and to help the other out as much as possible. They even have that snarky attitude with the other person for awhile.

Her wish when she was human is to be loved, that is true. But i think after she become immortal and live for so long, it is not her wish anymore. I think C.C contract with Lelouch to die is due to loneliness when she is immortal and everyone she knew just die, so her true wish much be “not to be alone anymore”. And in the end, L.L grant C.C wish by become immortal himself and stay with her forever. Maybe one of the best couple in anime history. I will miss them.

I’ve always been if the opinion that Lelouch wouldn’t abandon CC at the end. Even if she was okay with it and she wanted to live now, after all they’ve been through I don’t think Lelouch would leave her to live her endless lonely life. That’s why I think they both knew he had Charles code and they left at the end to travel together and watch the world from afar, ready to step in if the peace were disrupted. I’d think to a certain degree Lelouch would still punish himself by not ever seeing his friends or family again, and have to have the world hate him

I think the reason her death wish subsided was because she just wanted to be loved, just like her wish from when she first entered the contract. Because she was reminded of love through her memories seen by Lelouch when he entered the Thought Elevator, love in its true and uninhibited form could come from Lelouch. He could love her without Geass or fear of her being a witch because he already accepted her. She then decided that was the answer/ meaning to her immortal life.

Because it's a one shot single use per person power it's very different from the other Geass, so if it went out of control what happens? my theory is that lelouch didn't get code from his father but rather from CC at the moment of the zero requiem. That's how he fulfilled his part of the contract... and stay alive fo season 3.
I mean I believe C2s wish was to be loved, and the ultimate form of love would be to bear the same curse to be by her side for eternity, so Lelouch taking the Code from Charles would be the most likely way they could remain together, also I am sure they both want to stick around to protect the world if needed

I disagree strongly about one point. "He mustn't die" took place before she offered Lelouch the Geass contract, and thus he was not yet valued as a means of discarding her unwanted immortality. Instead, the reason why he must not die is the same reason why C.C. was watching over him as a child, and the same reason why she narrated "It's you; finally I have found my---" right after Lelouch shouted out to the people inside the truck.
Consider the way that C.C. interacted with the offscreen Marianne during their telepathic conferences. And how the way she interacted with Lelouch changed after he saved her from Mao. And C.C.s body language with Charles in the scene when Lelouch realized the true wish of her Geass, before her Code.
C.C. was watching over the child, and unwilling to let the child die, because (in my estimation) finally she had found her child. That Marianne had been her lover (shown by their conversations), as had Charles (shown by their body language). And it logically follows that all three of them would have been in bed together at least once. Such as the night Lelouch was conceived.
Marianne's child, and Charles's child, and C.C.'s child. That's how she saw him, before Clovisland. And afterward, she started seeing Lelouch as a better version of what had once been appealing about his father. And so her loyalty turned.
Oh God Its Him Run Did CC plan on giving Lelouch his geass in the first place or was it to protect him during that incident because she saw him as her child?
@@krizzabianca I am reasonably certain that the reason why C.C. was watching over him at the Kururugi Shrine the day the invasion began was NOT because she intended to give him a Geass then. Mostly because Mao is presented as an anomaly rather than her standard operating procedure. Therefore, I presume that the reason why C.C. was watching over him was to keep an eye out for V.V. trying to finish what he'd started at Aries Villa. And that it was the life or death circumstances of that day in Shinjuku which caused her to set things in motion towards him becoming like his father.
Oh God Its Him Run That makes a lot of sense. Considering VV hated Marriane for marrying Charles, and both parents did mention they wanted to keep them safe that's why Lelouch and Nunnaly were fled to Japan. I hope they do a prequel or maybe if they release an R3 series they should include flashbacks of what really happened between the royal families.

@@KatoBeyond He was just going to chop her up a few moments before Lelouch interfered. It's hard to imagine Mao not doing that before.
He was willing to do that because he knew it wouldn’t kill her. It would allow him to possess her, like an object.
In some way, C.C. did love Mao. Seeing the way the geass alone has destroyed him, she thought she could never allow herself to curse Mao with immortality and betray him like what the Nun did to her.
We see this also during the time C.C. could have given her code to Lelouch so he'd stand a chance of winning against his father, but instead she changed her mind because she cared for Lelouch and didn't want him to suffer immortality like how she did. And Lelouch saw right through this and said "I could have granted your death wish. Did you pity me?"
