Great work . I’m yet to hear the entire podcast . One immediate thought is , the interviewer and interviewed both being Madwas , can proudly wear the divya gopichanda mudra, angaraakshate , traditional dress too. Will be a great inspiration to young viewers . Exited to hear the entire podcast.

Interesting and enlightening discussion. "The joy of physics lies in solving the brain teasers that nature throws at us", such a profound statement. It is refreshing to listen to a scholar with such a sharp and inquisitive mind. At times, the interview looks like an "arranged match". It is a bit disappointing when he skirts the discussion on Reality and Consciousness in the context of quantum, perhaps to avoid getting into a situation of having to discuss the limitations of Dvaita philosophy. He views Shastra more as a Life philosophy rather than as a "body of knowledge that has everything", it appears. When he says Shastra and science focus on entirely different things, inner and outer respectively and so there are no conflicts for him, the interviewer simply moves on without questioning it further. But for most religious people, Shastra means not the core philosophy alone but the entire scripture collection that the word "Shastra" denotes, including all the names, places, stories, rules, commandments, beliefs etc. mentioned in all the texts, including the 18 Puranas, which are all "outer". It is this problem which is the crux, but it is cleverly skipped, perhaps not to antagonize traditionalists. But, in spite of this, the discussion is pretty good and is worth watching overall. Bring more such podcasts 👍

Very calm and collected both were and so must the audience, the third one.Stating that there is no free will by relating the internal and external dependency has a subtle inaccuracy as long as one separates oneself from the other permanently. If on the other hand there is oneness instead of permanent duality both free will and it's opposite will be one and the same and hence free will exist. As the soul evolves or rather becomes finer and finer and becomes the finest then the conclusion and experience will all be one and the same.As far as pseudo science as used and related here the guest had nicely escaped from going into the finer aspect of himself.

Philosophy was very mature in the old days. The advancement has stopped now and all the philosophy that was discussed then are no longer worked upon and no new philosophy are coming out of India

Very very nice initiative much needed. Keep up the good work. Only one suggestion, seems you already were decided on what to ask no matter what prof is answering. Please try to build on his questions to seek more from his mind.
Like your first question about childhood wasn’t answered fully, you may have asked again, second when he mentions his fav work from Shree Jayateertha, you added your fav and the conversation ended there. Instead you could have asked why he feels that work as important, what he learnt was most compelling …

When Dr Jayanth Vyasanakere says the Jiva has no free-will, I think it is very misleading. If the jiva had no free-will the laws of karma makes no-sense. Dr BNK Sharma in his "Philosophy of Madhvacharya" talks about "Freewill of the Soul" in Chapter 43. "The Jiva chooses out of his freewill a
particular line of action for good or for bad with sufficient
foreknowledge of its moral worth and has himself to thank for the
consequences. He cannot, therefore, blame anyone, least of all
God, for the unpleasant consequences of his acts, should he have
chosen wrongly. He has freedom of choice within the realm of
    works"

Rightly said - it's an extremely misleading statement indeed. Jeeva is defined as one who has desire, knowledge & action (gnana, iccha, kriya), although being eternally dependent on Paramatma to exercise them. If Paramatma completely takes away the jeeva's free will (the ability to choose), then what meaning does sadhane hold? why instruct the jeeva to do good... since jeeva has no free will to choose good or bad. Let Paramatma, the sole chooser, read the Bhagavad Geeta; why instruct Arjuna to fight; why tell Arjuna "yatha icchasi, tatha kuru"? should have said "yatha icchami, tatha karomi" since Arjuna would not have an inch of free will to fight or not to fight... no use instructing him. And let Paramatma suffer the consequences of choices since it was Paramatma who chose for the jeeva. Some will say that Paramatma chose based on previous karma... what use is it since previous karma again wasn't chosen by jeeva. Some will say that Paramatma saw the svabhava of the jeeva and decided... that's still not consent given by jeeva (or decision made by jeeva) to do good or bad actions, since he has no free will to decide for himself. With no opportunity for the jeeva to exercise his free will through sadhane, the whole srishti for the jeevas becomes useless. Then, the jeeva will not be responsible for his destiny of svarga/naraka since paramatma just saw svabhava and decided for the jeeva, never offering the jeeva a chance to exercise his will - it's like the teacher deciding which students to pass or fail (having looked at their faces) - of course, here, Paramatma absolutely knows who is going to pass or fail even with free-will but that's still not an opportunity given to the jeevas to exercise their will for the right kriya (or prayatna) that leads to passing or failing. What Dr. Jayant Vyasanakere said actually contradicts Madhva philosophy. As you pointed out with Dr. BNK Sharma's reference.

Fantastic 👌🏻😍 please correcr me if i am wrong
    1) Mahabharata was written even before it happened Vyas devru narrated and god Ganapati wrote it. That means all is decided before we are just subjects playing the drama called life as directed by Sri Hari.
    2) When Guru Raghavendra Swamy chanted mantra he converted non veg offered into flowers and fruits or when he chanted agnisukta while grinding gandha lepa he invoked agni devru and later invoked varun devru by chanting mantra on Varuna
How are they able to defy laws and convert from one form to other or invoke gods by chanting mantra ?
    3) We hear some one say trikal gyani
Point is they know the outcome but others are secluded or simply do not know the outcome.
Simply put i dont know what all is instore in my life but at the same time their may exist people who can predict or definitely tell what is instore isnt it ??
Pls do have more sessions 🙏🏻

Fantastic work. These are the kinds of intellectual discussions we need to understand both science and aadyaatma. I have one question. The guest says we do not have free will. In fact, i have heard different opinions within the Madwa community itself on this topic. So my question is if we do not have free will, what's the role of karma and consequences then? If I'm a theif, can i say that stealing is not my own thinking, it's an act of god? Can i get away with that explanation? Why do we need to worry about punya and paapa if we don't have free will. My understanding is there is a free will to some extent given by God to the humans. Would request the expert to clarify on this please. Thanks.

Good initiative but it is absolutely inappropriate for the speakers to use singular pronouns like 'Jayateertha'. Instead they must address the revered saints with due respect with the usage of terms like 'Sri Jayateertharu'. It sits very well with the English language. Just because the podcast is in english doesn't mean that we do away with respectable terms of approach.
