      Picking Bird and Rick Berry over Lebron is LUDICROUS, LeBron has more than 10,000 career pts over Bird and Berry. He has 4,000 more career assists, 400 more blks, 400 more steals, and after this yr he will catch Bird in Career rebs, has higher shooing %. Bird only one thing on Lebron he was a better ft shooter and that's all. OH, I FORGOT BOTH BIRD AND BERRY IS WHITE SO U THINK THAT MAKES THEM BETTER

    • @allenfoss53
      @allenfoss53 Před 5 lety +23

      JomoDaMusicMan it took lebron an extra 300 games to get above those stats. Larry Bird set the small forward career triple double record in 200 fewer games than lebron. Bird had 6 seasons straight averaging a double double along with 6-7 assists lebron has never averaged a double double. 10 percent of birds regular season games were triple doubles, 7 percent of lebron’s games were triple doubles that’s regular season in the playoffs 16 % of birds games were triple doubles and 9% of lebron’s games were triple doubles in the playoffs. Bird had 2 50-40-90 seasons lebron has zero, so just because he has a better fg% doesn’t mean he is the better shooter Shaq has a .582 fg% but that don’t mean Shaq a better shooter lebron averaged twice as many free throws a games than bird and bird played in a much harder era of basketball. Lebron made 7140 out of 9701 which puts his ft percentage at .736 bird made 3960 out of 4471 puts his ft% at .886, 22% percent of lebron’s career points come from ft that’s almost 1/4 of his points while bird is 18% which shows bird was better at getting his points from the field making threes and jumpers. Bird is one of three guys to have ever won three straight mvps lebron has never done that, 25% of birds seasons ended in rings only 20% of lebron’s have ended in rings 66% of both of their season ended with them in the eastern conference final. Lebron should be ranked higher than rick Barry and lebron is the most athletic person to play basketball but Larry Bird has more basketball skills and a better basketball iq and was WAYYYY more clutch than lebron Bird would tell the other teams exactly what he was gonna do to win a game go out and then do it in they faces, lebron doesn’t have the ice in his veins that bird had in shooting or in clutch situations go watch a bird highlight tape and watch him breaking ankles, turning dudes around having no idea where the ball is and making accurate passes without even catching the ball first

      @@allenfoss53 THIS SOUNDS LIKE ONE OF DONALD TRUMPS LONG LIST OF LIES, FABRICATING THE TRUTH, STATS ARE ABOUT CAREERS NOT ABOUT U PLAYED 20 YRS AND YOUR STAR COULD ONLY PLAY 10 LEBRON IS BETTER PLAYER AND ONLY A FOOL WOULD TRY TO COMPARE BIRD WITH HIM. U SHOULD BE TRYING COMPARE BIRD WITH DWADE OR 6'5" ELGIN BAYLOR AND BIRD STATS ARE FAR BELOW ELGIN BAYLOR WHO HAD MORE PTS AND 2,000 MORE REBS AND WAS 4 INCHES SHORT IN HEIGHT AND ABOUT BIRDS (3) ST MVP, EVERYBODY KNOWS HIS ROOKIE OF YR WAS A GIFT AND AT LEAST ONE OF HIS MVP'S SHOULD'VE WENT TO MAGIC. • @allenfoss53
      @allenfoss53 Před 5 lety +11

      JomoDaMusicMan all that is true man you need to do some fucking research and put some serious respect on birds name. And how many years and games you play does matter especially when it takes lebron more games and seasons to match birds output. If lebron played in the 80s-90s he would be nowhere near the stats he has his rebounding numbers would be way down, points would be way down cause he wouldn’t get as many ft as well as the fact you had these 7fters who were only out there to tackle somebody’s ass and keep them from the hop he might still have good assists numbers but what bird did passing no one else has ever done this guy was just tapping balls to open guys not even catching then passing just no look tap overs. Bird led rookies in 3s made, 2 in points and ppg, 1st in rebounds and rpg for a rookie, 3rd in assists by a rookie, 2nd in steals, 3rd in blocks by a rookie, top 3 in the main 5 stats for a rookie with a 3s made kicker, magic was top 5 in those stats for a rookie but bird was top 3 for a rookie along with the 3. In all three years that bird won mvp he had more points more rebounds more steals more blocks, more 3s than magic the only stat magic was better at was assists but bird still averaged 7 assists a game. He won 2 out of 3 of his championship in that 3 year stretch DO SOME FUCKING RESEARCH.

Couldn't do it to Elgin. He scored a playoff record 72 I believe against the Celtics. In one game, Red took the clipboard, smashed it down and said......"Can't anyone stop that son of a bitch!!!!!" I agree with you wholeheartedly. The sad thing is that Dr. J’s ABA days aren’t included. He was unstoppable and was still dangerous in the NBA. Because he was such a superb athlete he played 17 years ( I think 🤔 💭??)and his teams never missed the playoffs. Yes you are correct he sacrificed his personal stats for the good of his team. Jordan and a lot of the players now do not have that mentality ( accept for Curry, Clay and Green )to sacrifice for the good of their team. I put Julius ( the Doctor) Eeeerving!! top 2 all time.

    I can't agree with LeBron's placement because your arguement that he hasn't played enough isn't valid when compared to Bird. He has already played around the same number of years as Bird so by your logic Rick Barry is 1 and Bird is 2. I know Lebron's numbers are inflated right now but like what you said about Elgin Baylor, you can't blame him for being good.

      +Max Eng Bird was injured when he was seemingly in his prime. And once he returned he was old. The average NBA lifespan at that time was a lot lower, so it's not really fair to him. Not to mention Bird was 23 in his rookie season, LeBron was 18. And the Elgin Baylor argument and LeBron's are different. They're saying you can't blame Elgin because the era he played in, and his competition. They're saying LeBron is at his pique, and is probably now just declining. Slowly we'll see his stats decline and flatten out.

(There were a few other details we considered, but that's a basic answer.) As for "neglecting" the ABA stats, it's really just a technicality. We're ranking the top NBA small forwards so we felt it was only fair to rank them based on their NBA performance. We were mindful of their ABA performance while we were making the list so we didn't go completely blind to it, as you'll notice by the fact that we highlighted several of Dr. J's ABA accolades.

      +Terrence Jackson That's only counting stats, not accolades,
      LeBron's accolades speak for themselves, and when we compare players we mostly compare primes, no one talks about Nash's time with the lakers or Pippen's time with the rockets when we compare those two.
      LeBron had a better prime than everyone on that list except Bird, which is the only arguable one.
      He's the youngest player to reach pretty much every points mark from 10000-25000 and more.
      4 MVPs, 2 finals MVPs and has probably the best single player finals performance this year.
      LeBron's decline was not good enough of a reason for being lower than Rick Barry, and as you said, LeBron is really close to surpassing Bird, maybe another 1-2 Years or so?

This is the softcore pussy era Lebron is averaging those numbers. Anyway, how could Lebron be the best SF when Larry Joe "Legend" Bird played the game?
