I have the first Mamod you talked about, I’ve had it since I was a child, I got it in the late 60’s - very early 70’s.
    Hope this helps.

That custom steam lorry is stunning! I feel like I should make a custom but most steam lorrys are so expensive.

@@DanielsModels I hawe a pair of Basset Lowke and a Bowman livesteamer 0 gauge in my collection, most of the stationarys are Wilesco machines, but i hawe the MAMOD mini and the one with a cast chimney i ma also almost done restoring the MAMOD meccano pendulum steamplant (nothing fancy i think it's the 1970s yellow model).
I recently got the exxcentric press for the mamod mini workshop, i hawe a pair of hammers and the mini grinder for it as well. I must say that i realy love those miniatures. I think the pulleys for it is actualy made by a Danish company named TECNO (as i heard they made things for the American Jenssen steamplants back in the days, but if they exported to Britain it was most likly under their own brand i think but there are no factory markings on the toys, it was only printed on the paperbox as far as i know), i hawe a 1970s ish red horseshoe generator and a small saw from that company too i use with the mamod miniatures. I know those horseshoe dynamos are less effective than the converted DC motor mamod did choose for their own generators, but i must admit that it had look neat as a part of the collection if they did.

Wow that sounds like a very interesting collection! The mamod meccano steam plant does sound interesting and yes i believe Techno could have something to do with that as they made all sorts of accessories for workshops etc. The generator and saw also sound interesting and yes they have more of a charm then the dc motor in my opinion.

The first one you shown was probably 1959 - late 60's. The second is the 70's. I have one and it's just like yours. The work shop in general could be late 50s, 60s or 70s. The mamod with the early burner is the oldest one. That is 1957 and it was only in production for a year (I think). In 1958 the wick burners were replaced with meth lamps. So it's definitely before 1958. In 1956/7 the mamod company started using presses steel base's. Yours is a presses steel base. Keep hold of it as It will go up in price. The whistle is not at all original. If you search on eBay 'mamod early whistle' you will find the right whistle. They are a bit pricey though.the green steam lorry is probably late 70's. The blue one is 80's or 90's or maybe early 2000's. With the TE1A the sight glass may need replacing. It looks like limescale has built up o the outside the the seal could be shot. It's easy to get replacements off ebay. The TE1 with the brass boiler, it has a regulator so it's after 1975. But if it did have a regulator it would be a TE1A. Bit of a mystery. I hope this helps you understand the mamods a bit more.
