3. Gareth Bale
4. Scott McTominay

8. Adnan Januzaj
9. Matty Cash
10. Ademola Lookman

As someone said it is good to have enough playing time in a small team rather than sitting in bench of a big team
I think that was Gareth Bale's view - why play for the minor England team when you can play for the highly ranked Welsh team.
Some don't mind playing for England...
@@dariomartinez459 yes, some. not all.
@@trevormj u didnt understand his comment at all lol
England a big team? You mean like, Maguire?
If Haaland had played for England, I think they would’ve been in the WC Final. I definitely respect staying true and playing for Norway knowing the chances of achieving glory and minimal. His stats are ridiculous, not the least being his 9 goals in the U-20 World Cup! Hoping they qualify for the 2026 WC!
England is a curse, he wouldn't be the same!
@@tsekeTechGuy
Are you suggesting that England wouldn’t have been a far more dangerous team with Haaland on it?
@@TheBenevolentDictatorship fam what I am saying is England doesn't just need one player. If Lampard and Gerrard and co couldn't do it I don't see them ever doing it. There's always something that goes wrong with england
@@tsekeTechGuy
That sounds very superstitious. They’re not cursed. Many nations have done far worse than England over the years. Haaland would’ve given them a lot more scoring power up front. Obviously much needed
@Tweet Worse Lol delusional as always. You are entitled to your own opinion.
Giovanni Reyna is one he turned down England to play for the United States for the reason of “Yet, since his dad captained the USA to two World Cups, his chances of representing anybody else were minuscule.
The 18-year-old made his international debut for the USA in November 2020 during a match against Wales and forms part of America’s potentially golden generation.”
Did Giovanni feature in the English youth set up. He seems to have made a natural decision based on talent level and opportunity. USA!
@@thokongwenya9552 no he didn't play in the England youth system
At two world cups, not to.
Bronze age at best 😅
@@thokongwenya9552based on talent level? Maybe he just actually wanted to win trophies 😂
Italian 2006 world Cup winner Simone Perrotta was born and raised only 5 miles from Man City's ground in Ashton under Lyne and could have played for England . Good job for him he didn't.
never heard of him so he ain't English because English hype you'd no him
If England had Erling Haaland then England would actually become a huge title threat for the Euro's and world cups that we have been waiting for England to be for such a long time. It would be amazing to see and a must watch. It would be phenomenonal for Haaland's internantional career too and definitely help Haaland's overall career the best way possible. Also the rivalry between Haaland and Mbappe would be so immense. It would make the world of football even more interesting and jaw dropping.
England already have Kane 😎
@@prestonjackson5656 Kane is a great player Ofc but he is getting on a bit and he is not enough. He also makes mistakes in big games for England. Haaland is the best striker in the prem by far.
Kane is getting old now and you can tell by that free kick is the quater finals
u should have begged him to play for england. shame that u care more about ur ego than the wc itself
Should be titled "10 players who avoided the bullet of playing for All Fur Coat and No Knickers FC"
Yunus Musah, born in the USA to Ghanaian parents who then moved to England and so he trained in Arsenal's youth academy, and played in England youth National teams. Wooed by USMNT and by Ghana, picked the US. Still only 19 years old as of this writing (born Nov. 29, 2002). Gonna be one of the great midfielders of his generation.
I’ve heard that to many times to be honest he probably will have a mediocre career
@@willbishop6376 Musah is already better than ANY midfielder who plays in MLS. Whether he will continue to get better and become a superstar is never going to be a sure thing and depends on how hard he keeps working, whether he can avoid major injuries, and how good the coaching he gets in the teams he chooses to play for.
Because the us pay more. George weah’s son did the same which considering his dad was president of Liberia is a bit of a liberty really
@@willbishop6376 Based on what I've seen of the world cup so far, he's not mediocre. He's improving all the time and the sky's the limit.

@@FinneganTheMinstrel Good one!
It is tho… whether u like it or not
The three that would/could have made the biggest difference IMO are Ryan Giggs, Wilf Zaha and Haaland. I don't know how realistic it would have been for Giggs to play for England but during his career England always seemed to be missing that player on the left.
Giggs didn't qualify to play for England. He has stated this many times.
He only played for England schoolboys because he was living in Manchester (the same way Michael Owen played for Wales schoolboys even though he's English). The only national teams Giggs was legible for were Wales and Sierra Leone.
@@welshjim22 How does Bale qualify then?
Haaland has no tie to England and no family there. Both his parents is Norwegian. He was only born in England because his dad played football there at the time. They moved back to Norway when he was a toddler. Why should he chose England?
More chance of winning a trophy for one.
Giovanni Reyna too his parents both American and both were professional footballers but he was born in England too because his father played there
@@theyoutubeguy1 hahahaha good one mate!

All the Irish lads in Jack Charlton’s era could’ve played for England 😂
Scott mctominay made the right decision
Well if he wants to be a failure and never play in a World Cup than yes he did 😆 Mctominay wouldn’t even make our senior team now
Yes he did
yes he did thank god he aint near england
Yeah I bet he loves the england D team
I think he made a big mistake when will yous every step in the world cup
Just imagine if Haaland and Musiala had chosen to play for England... 😫
I’d put them in the WC Final. Haaland is on a totally unseen level right now. Too bad Norway didn’t qualify. Hopefully ‘26.
#Garethbale what a lengend 🏴🏴🏴
You forgot Ryan Giggs who captained England in youth level but chose Wales instead. I have no doubt if he had chosen England at the time, then I truly believe England would have won a major tournament. He was the missing left winger England craved at that time.
He played for England Schoolboys, not England. The England Schoolboys is based on where you go to school and not nationality
he said he never felt english and always wanted to play for wales, if not wales cameroon because of his dad
Your research is phenomenal
Stuart McCall was apparently on subs bench to play for England senior or under 21 but refused to go on pitch at time as was very late in the day ...changed to Scotland and scored in Italia 90 for Scotland v Sweden in a 2-1 win .
My country Nigeria would be so stacked but footballers never chose use
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Nigerians need to stop running away, the only genuine proud Nigerian I have seen was Iwobi, his carer may not have gone how he wanted but at the time England really wanted him and he always said I am Nigerian, I will wait for Nigeria
Former Scotland midfielder Stuart Macall , I seem to recall reading that he purposely prolonged warming up as a sub for the England U-21s to avoid being brought on, having realised he had made a mistake declaring for England

These guys are great, these colonized Africans living in England could learn a thing or two. Iwobi Is the main man, A True, Proud African..
Some of them spent their whole lives in England grew up here. Of course they’re going to be more connected to England than their parents countries. It’s also not colonisation as their parents immigrated there. Whether they want to play for the country they grew up in or the country of their origin, they’re both respectable decisions.
@@deviljho4260 lol how old are you? Cause u sound like my naive 8 year old
@@beast9052 And yet he's right... It's very stupid to blame them whatever choice they made. It's a chance for them they have multiple choices to play international football
@@Agnitlafr they are products of colonization nothing special about them, and I'll tell u this for free, Rashford will never have any impact at Man Utd because he is an African who chose to play for his colonizers, whether they grew up there or not, their history dictates otherwise. This is also why only black players are the ones charged with sexual harrassment of these white British girls. They will continue to be colonized and ostracized until they know who they truly are and where they come from, Look at how Salah and Mane are so successful, because they are true to self
@Beast And what about French-African successful players? It would mean that France succeeds in integrating them in football, but not England, right?
You don't know about all the affairs going on with sexual harassment because UK doesn't only target black Players (Gylfi Sigurdsson, Aiden Mc Geady, Ryan Giggs now even if he's for long retired)
(BTW, I'm French with a African-born father and a Caribbean-born mother 😉)

Dream on.
Nah Bale was going to be a starter and there is no way Halland was going to be Called to the English squad b4 he moved to dortmund or start b4 moving to city
Musiala is the future of football. He chose well.
Who is better than Bale in that role?
Seriously? England has missed an out and out LW for the last 30 years. They would loved to have had Giggs or Bale. But they chose correctly.
Imagine all them together
Roy Wegerle was born in South Africa and naturalised American to play for them. But I think he had options to play for England and Germany.
Imagine that line up of Kane and halaand
Respect
Oh wow Kane and Haaland playing together would be invincile
Haaland would have benched Kane , plus he has good chemistry with Foden and Bellingham..
@@chrisblanco8593 Why can't we have 2 elite strikers in the squad mate
Chris Birchall was born in Stafford but went on to represent Trinidad and Tobago, where his mum was born
Shaka Hislop and Chris Birchall both decided to play for Trinidad and Tobago instead of England. Both represented TnT in the 2006 world cup in Germany.
Neither were good enough to play for England
Bobbi Zamora as well?
The reality is that most of these players who were raised in England would take their chances with England if they had excellent prospects of regular football at senior level. But if you’re a fringe player, or not in the picture at all as far England goes, then you will usually get approached by the football federation of your parents country of origin asking you if you will take up an offer to play for them. There’s a reason Mbappe plays for France and not Algeria or Cameroon…….

@@stevenpurchase1838 exactly. Urban myth that he could have represented England just because he played for England schoolboys. The criteria was you represented the country where you were educated. His parents and grandparents were Welsh so when it came to full internationals he couldn't play for England
Antonio scored a goal against El Salvador that most likely sunk their world cup hopes.
Of all these players the only one who would realistically have gained multiple England caps is Bale and his only connection is a single grandparent.
Are you high? Who will bench Haaland?? Musialla?
Musiala is still young, and with how talented he currently is, could have seen him be a regular starter in the England team later in his career. Haaland too, and he would probably get in over Kane sometimes even now. He's also 7 years younger than him, so in a few years time he could easily be better
@@cell2179 Musiala is better than all the English Midfielders combined. He is far better than Mount, Smith Rowe, Maddison, Galliggher. I mean are you on drugs? This boy at 18 is a starter for Bayern and Germany. No English player is on his level. The fact that England let him go on to play for Germany says alot about how stupid you lot are. As for Haaland lmao. Haaland on one leg is still better than Kane. Dude get a clue.
You could add Eddie Nketiah to the list
Ryan Giggs was the one we really missed out on, played at all levels for England apart from senior level aka Ryan Wilson
Giggs could not have played for England at senior level the media know it but keep reporting false claims that he turned down England, giggs would of chosen England if rules were different back then, John barnes played for England and admitted later he was never eligible
not true. Ryan Giggs played one game for England under 15s. That is it.
Giggs played for England schoolboys But was not Eligible For The England National Team. Rules were different Then Nowadays rules are far more relaxed some would say too relaxed.

Brereton-Diaz of Blackburn, didn't turn down England exactly but some Chilean Football Manager players noticed he was eligible for their country so they managed to convince him to choose Chile 😲
Big mistake on his part.
@@ThreeLions82big mistake? He’s getting playing time with Chile. He wouldn’t even get call up for England if he were to choose it.
Wish more footballers did that as we would see these so called lesser nations being more powerful. Level playing field in big competitions. First FIFA needs to give more allocation to african nations as they do to europe, there is as many nations in africa but only get circa 5-6 places in the World Cup.
No mention of Chris Sutton 😂
Geez. England, Germany, Poland and Nigeria all went after Musiala. Having a diverse background must be a blessing.
Well when Musiala left England at 24th February 2021 it was the same day when Estonia celebrated 103 anniversary of Estonia
Well Iwobi wouldn't be starting on the English team either ways.
A lot of these guys wouldn’t have.
As a foreign born UK national, Musiala was probably also allowed to play to Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, which means with England, Nigeria, Poland and Germany he had a choice of 7 teams

We(England) have got enough top players as it is, we don't really need any more good players, just think of the ones that are currently injured and aren't even English e.g. Raheem Sterling: Born in Kingston, Jamaica, plays for England, Fikayo Tomori: Born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada(did exactly the same as Owen Hargreaves.) They just become naturalized English if they are living here long enough.
Can anyone explain the criteria for playing for a country...
One player they missed off this list is/was Ryan Giggs. I'm sure Cesc Fabregas could have as well as he was classed as a UK citizen when he was playing for Arsenal, if my memories right

I'm sure Giggs was able to play for England after the 2009 rule change. England were screaming out for a player of his caliber for many years and we ended up using right footed players on the left i:e Joe Cole, Steve McManaman and sometimes Steven Gerrard
The rule change was about 15 years after Giggs made his Wales debut
