    The game is on day 2 of officially being released and the "it's just left click simulator" people were already driving me nuts. I've been like "1. You obviously don't play HI3, Hoyo's other game that uses a similar combat system (because those of us who do, know what is up). 2. You didn't do the character/combat demos, 3. you're gonna be frustrated when you get further along and have no idea why you do no damage." Since I've got HI3 combat under my belt I picked it up almost immediately but can 100% say that from experience, that it's gonna get harder if people are not bothering to learn the system.

      @@johnhurley8918 if you ever play soldier 11 and only mash you won't get anywhere. Her basics need timing to infuse fire into her sword. Anby: using her EX or special after her 3rd attack hold allows her skip a couple frames. Grace needs to weave her special in between her basic attacks to build up to Shock efficiently and increase her DPS. These are only just some examples.

    This game is a great example of how when you really lean into a style, it can alienate people. I love the art, the puzzles, even the comic book sections. But I also immediately noted that it’s not going to be for everyone and it doesn’t need to be. Hoyo makes so much money, this can be their weird little fighting game, art experiment.

      i think u might be onto something here. hyv clearly experimented more with these designs, from furry to a fully blue oni, very far from what they are used to. zenzone might be them throwing a bone to the devs with less reliance on the usual hoyo style like u said since their other games bring in so much cash.

      I remember when Hoyo was MiHoyo and it was a small company back then. One of their first games was Gun Girl Z on mobile. It was fun casual gacha game and it unfortunate they don’t have it anymore. They actually based some of their characters of Honkai Impact from it. Crazy how much they’ve grown over the years.

    Honestly I'm kind of already tired of people around this game, I recently saw some dude say that the puzzles are boring and bro literally attached a screenshot of the first Bangboo you get to fix in the story, sometimes I don't know if that's supposed to be sarcasm or not.
    For me the combat is almost trivially easy so far, but I'm only at level 23 at the moment so I'm waiting with any concrete opinion until I progress further into the game. People really seem to overlook that the devs said they want a large portion of early-game content to be easy so that the game is accessible and smooth to get into, but then ramp up the difficulty in the endgame, which I hope they deliver on well.

      "devs said ..... " They arent customers and players so their opinion is worthelss. Average players wont invest more then 6 hours in that game to find out if its fun or not. if not then they just go elswhere. That fun is supposed to be there from the start and not at the end game,thats a bad design.

      Honestly it wasn’t till I watched this that I realized the animations were the same (minus the cutscene obviously) and why the chain attack appears under the ultimate in the skill screen. I love this game but one of my feedbacks is to make the skill layout a little more readable or friendly to when you are first starting since I’m used to it now. I think Star Rail does a good job with how it lays information out.

    People just complain for the sake of hating , some try just a few minute and some just hating without even trying the game just bading on watching CC.
    The most and loud are the one joining the hate train , because they just like watching chaos

      I mean combat is pretty piss poor and a missed opportunity. One can enjoy the game but saying people are just complaining for complaining is a bit easy when the game could and should have done a better job. That being said yeah all good for those who like it.

      ​@@dandyshark6094well again no proble enjoying the game but then I read people defending the game by stating the problem for not liking it is the gamers just complain or because they can't play, we can be objective about it and have formal criticism I'm all for the game to be better. I've seen things thrown out both ways. Great for those liking it and for others there are plenty other games. Personally I enjoy more PGR than this. The game has got a mixed reception because of the lackluster story, the TV mode which barely anyone likes and because many find the combat to be very average. Those are fair points.

    People think that ZZZ very simple because they played early game and didn't see powerful mob's yet. I am in early stages to, but I heard that there more powerful enemies further.

The game still feels very easy, when the combat systems are complex but you arent encouraged to use them to the fullest as the enemies dont need thought to kill(even the tougher bosses) then thats an issue with the enemies. TThe game was made to be casual friendly while it develops complex combat systems. those two dont mix well. It creates a mashing simulator where if you build characters well enough you can sweep with mashing. hey seriously need to rework the enemies in later game if they want rewarding and engaging combat systems. It MIGHT get harder as I level up but i dont see that happening

      That’s still not endgame, I’m sorry but I will only accept final opinions for the games combat at endgame and that’s not until around level 55, now if the combat isn’t much better then I will be honest and admit it, but until then I just want to wait

      @@KetteiThe7th_ Wasnt talking about endgame. was talking about later in game, at the point i am now i cant make meaningful progress without dailies etc, and i didnt say it was a final opinion, i had ssaid that i MIGHT change in the future but im doubtful. But also critiquing how the tougher story bosses feel shouldnt be just set aside as we're not at endgame yet. If the game is feeling easy to the point where its trivial, it should be taken into account, especially when a boss seems to be shown in the story as very powerful, then killing its phases without much issue

    You're the first creator I've seen mention switching out during longer animation sequences! To be real, 9/10 times I've clicked on ZZZ videos, it's people saying the exact same information, with little to no advanced/deeper explanation./ there are so many creators making ZZZ content right now. I think anything you can add to the ether, that's more unique, the better!
    I'm hoping someone puts in the effort to actually demo the casts animations and optimal routes at some point too. As someone who primarily plays fighting games, that kind of content is GOLDEN.

      the issue is Wuwa does this too and does this with alot better control in PC... the control scheme is just too limited. like if you are on character 1, to switch to cahracter 3, u have to space twice... there is not press "3". it is clear the control scheme is design for mobile only. that's really the disappointment for the PC community. I personally can work with it, but I understand it is rather basic for PC.
      the real issue I have with the game is loading time. because there are more instances (room size environment), you go into loading screen quite alot, yet the loading screen isn't faster than genshin, an openworld game with alot more asset. i find that rather annoying, they need to get the loading time down. I have more than enough memory to keep those room loaded in memory, there shouldn't be a need to keep unloading and reloading rooms...

      @@lagrangewei if you press c you can swap back a character (if you were on 1st character, it goes to 3rd character) though it is a bit much keeping track of two different swap buttons.

    The game only teaches people the small portion of how zzz actually plays. Now it looks casual in their eyes but in reality its more than that. As a fighting game player, this feeling is very familiar, and I'm glad I discovered the actual depth of ZZZ now.

    I've been having so much fun stylizing team combos despite the early game easy difficulty. I've seen so many braindead takes on Twitter from big CCs and their followers. Guys like you, Iyo and SOL are the saving grace in this space. The Bangboo info was something I was unaware of... thanks!

      The thing is, this game is not suit for cc, just like the abysmal number of hi3/pgr cc compared to genshin/wuwa ones. Not a bad thing if you ask me because they clearly aim for the casual players

    When go further in the late game I noticed. Well first the don’t do challenge in story mode and when your dies for first time. Now they know they need to dodge because they been comfortably casual till level 23

    I absolutely love Zenless Zone Zero's combat so far! I have been doing good combos because of my experience playing BlazBlue, and I have been dodging and parrying well from my experience playing Stellar Blade! ZZZ is so fun! 😆

    Yo, I got some new things try! Funnily enough we were forewarned about the gameplay with the SF roundtable. Mashers are essentially the players playing on modern controls in SF6, while others are trying out all the tools given to them like classic users

    People are complaining that its mash game but don't even bother attempting to learn the combat flow. I learned how each of my agents work off each other and now I have a much better understanding of the agent's nuances. I'm at Proxy level 25 and I'm already seeing enemies that do require you to engage in the systems. Great video.

      It's a Gacha game normally all team members work off of each other same with Wuwa. It doesn't change that the combat flow is pretty much one button mashing and they build the combat around swapping rather than combo triggering. That being said yes Wuwa has pretty much a team based build as well which benefits combos, PGR the same and so on. Even At ether Gazer has this while only having one player to use.

    Very useful, even tho I'm still in the early game the combat came pretty naturally and i was using some of the stuff you mentioned already. The only thing I wasn't even thinking about was the limited parries, i will make sure to remember that when i get further into the game. Thanks for the video!❤❤

    Loving ZZZ right now! I absolutely ADORE when games let you active-switch between your teammates during long animations. Coming from games like BBTAG, FF7 Rebirth, Dusk Diver 2, and the Genokids demo, I'm feeling right at home with Zenless' combat.
    There seems to be this notion among a lot of gaming communities (not just gacha) that if a game doesn't force you into using all of its mechanics, then it's somehow worse because of it.
    Personally, I prefer it when games give you plenty of tools, while still allowing the freedom to experiment at your own pace.

    Though I must ask, when dodging or parrying is it more important to pay attention to visual queues or audio queues?

      for parries its more of a visual, for dodging its a bit of both, cause some attacks could hit you before or after the sound que so I would just try to get used to enemies biggest attacks in the late game and go from there. But parry is definitely easier cause you can be slightly early and still get your parry to work, but the perfect dodge you need to be a little bit more precise

    One thing I learn while playing zzz is setting up with daze meter against large wave of enemies.
    Instead of triggering the daze on a singular enemy only doing 2-3 chains atks. Id would stop attacking that enemy and increase the daze meter on a different enemy. The catch is I wont have it the same percentage but slightly lower than the first and/or second monster daze.
    This way this become a one wave rush triggering several chains back to back. The first 3 chains will increase daze on the other enemies retriggering another set of chain atks then another set of chain attack.
    This is very handy for characters like nekomata where her chain attack / assist attack is a heavy physical "aoe". Help clutch a few timed missions without buring ex special.

    After playing wuwa it comes to me natural trying out if there is also swap cancel. To my surprise its possible. It saves especially alot of time in my team since i pair ellen with the a rank we get for free after clearing shiyuu defense 3 since she has that spinning attack that takes alot of time.

    For me it took a while to be able to take in and read all the visual information going on. I think when things are so chaotic and you don’t know what to pay attention to, that’s when it can feel like button mashing is your main option. I assume some people also don’t take time to read or understand a characters kit which is obviously important and would lead to less mashing if you understood what the “win conditions” for your team is. I’m loving I so far, I just 25 and unlocked Shiyu Defense. I’m mainly running the ice team Ellen/Lycaon/Soukaku but I’m excited to try other teams out when I have the resources.

    Another tipp for preserving assist points. EX Special Attacks make the agent invurnable during the animation. A well timed EX Attack can achieve the same as a parry.

    I got a couple of tips for enemies. Certain attacks are more difficult to parry so your better option is dodge. For long attacks that you parry with melee characters, its best to wait before initiating the counter attack after or else you might get hit by a follow up.

    'It's all left-clicks' has the same feeling as ' _HSR_ only has 3 moves.' The systems are outwardly simple, inwardly deep. And _ZZZ_ was designed with a low barrier to entry, and a high ceiling for challenges. Give it time, these games always start slow. We should be able to see what this game has in store for us by version 2. And it _will_ make it at least that far. Thanks mostly to Captains, who know best what to expect.

    My problem with the combat is just that it forces me to switch at some moments, which i don’t like, and also the fact that you can only switch to the next character and not the previous one. It makes the combat feel limiting to some extend. I wish we had more freedom in switching characters.

    Hey i want to ask did you feel like the boss recovery in the endgame is faster and hit harder and the attack is must more rapid because i should feel like it because went i fight the in hollow zero, the boss become more and more difficult and it almost didn't give me the time to attack , most of the time i always have to dodge and attack the only time that the boss stop attack is went it ready to launch a chain attack or a single attack that is the only Time that i only can fully build that stun bar.

    another advise i would give mainly for pc and controller player is remap your button, ZZZ assign many thing on the same button which result in very punishing for button smash or even misclick so change it out and your combat will be much more in control

    I finally have some time to get on with the game and catch up on some videos... I really like the game, as much the art direction as the story and the simple gameplay (easy to learn, difficult to master, as can be seen in your video). Some people criticize the fighting or the TV, but I really like it, if I want a more complex game, I'll buy a AAA game lol...
    To my great surprise, when I saw Soukaku's gameplay, I thought ice would be my element in the game, but after I got my first 5* Rina, which I used with Anton...my God, I love it !
    A video on the different elements would be interesting one day, I think. 👍

      Definitely
      The decibel system should’ve been the style meter that can decrease when you get hit or just mash right click. Which also means your coolest and best damaging attack can be locked out if you play badly

    This type of complaint is normal for me to see for different games.
    Especially for most Tales Of games which rivals the greats like DMC and Bayonetta in stylish combos.
    I learned of the animation cancel very fast. I'm very happy how smooth and fluid normal switching is. Super glad useful switching isn't only for Chains or Assists.
    I did learn to view Chain Attacks in a new manner thanks to you. I was disappointed a bit that they look either like an ultimate or EX Ability, why have a different name if they are the same animation? But you help me change my perspective to how more intuitive it is to be that way.

    It's not casual or challenge mode only but there is also an easy and hard mode that has time limit to finish a stage.Even you choose challenge mode you can still select if it's easy or hard mode.

      @@KetteiThe7th_ In the beginning they let you choose casual or challenge mode but in the top section even your in challenge mode there's still option for easy or hard mode but I forgot if it's on the story only or available in combat and exploration.I think it has time limit to finish the stage in hard mode but I still didn't tried it so I can't say if the enemies are harder.

      @@crazyguitarist98 because the chain attacks animations are literally just your characters cycling their ultimates if you haven’t realized, they have the exact same animation the only thing chain attacks don’t have is the zoom in close up but everything else is the exact same

    I don't believe you can judge a game fully from day one, I think you have to reach the endgame to see if a game is truly "trash" or not. But let me know your opinions down below.

      Story seems really fun to.
      Don't understand why people hate TV mode so much, for me it's fun example of dungeon crawler system, very stylish and interactive. But people always want to speed up, and run, run, run.... They just want everything fast mode.... And I don't understand them.....

      I completely agree. Right now to me he game feels slightly underwhelming. I loveeee the sstyle, character designs and atmosphere and the general vibe the game went for. The animations are smooth and nice but the TV puzzle sections, story and simply filler parts of the game are putting me off. heres plenty i like and will continue to play but as it stands as a combat focussed game. It only feelss like 20% of what im actually doing and when i do have combat areas, they feel unengaging

      People don’t understand that not enjoying a game doesn’t mean it’s bad. For example I tried Persona 3 not too long ago and it just wasn’t for me, doesn’t change the fact that this is a great game.

      @@Shuraig7 I think in ZZZ case people don't completely understand what is stage slasher gacha really is. It's not a game which you will be spend 10 hours a day. You shouldn't do it. PGR, HI3rd and etc, is very simple stage structure games. And it's not so much combat in their story modes. They create plenty of battle mode's but it was part of its long term development.
      And even now, I personally spent about 30 minutes in PGR, (without 2 hours of visual novel reading part)how it's shoud be in games like this. First of all its gacha game, waifu and hasbando collector paradise. We here for beautiful woman's and male's, and sometimes for fun story. Any gameplay just a tool for getting a pulls.
      If I want "pure combat experience", I play in Bayonetta, DMC or Sekiro. But not a gacha slasher. I am here for other things ("cough" Fox girl"cough")

    I don't understand the nature of chain attack and ultimate. Like you said "hit with a heavy attack or ex special to a stunned target to trigger ultimate with using decibles" (not exact quote) so I'm trying this in training mode and I'm not getting it to trigger so I don't understand what it is I'm doing wrong please help

      @@KetteiThe7th_ honestly having access to a "free" ult that doesn't use decibles would be useful for non attack types like support. Like Lucy's ultimate also fills energy which would be nice to get while traveling down hallways where you don't always need the big attack damage. So ya I do feel like (even if the whole damage isn't there) if you can pull of a ult without spending decibles than like you said twice it will be a important strat to make use of

    Bro here is the thing, i already noticed all this at level 23, the problem is whenever i try to have full control of a semi-rotation i get utterly cucked by the auto chain, and there is no way to turn it off, even while utilizing all the mechanics of the game, it doesn't change this one core issue that plagues the rest of the combat. they want to prioritize switching, that's fine, they want a more casual audience to not have to worry about switching, that's also fine, anyone should be able to play however they want, the problem is, there is no OPTION for anyone that doesn't want the auto switching, so even experiementing with the combat becomes a chore.

      @@KetteiThe7th_ Wasn't aventurine nerfed because it was too RNG? At least that was the sentiment I gathered from Star Rail players at the time. Can you really describe something as difficult if it depends entirely on luck? (Sure, you could bring aoe to mitigate it, but if you low roll you would lose gamble anyways through no fault of your own)
      Edit: And even then, he got brute forced anyways. I think it was nerfed not because it was too hard, but because it was not easy enough for the lowest skill players to progress the story.

    I knew some of this, but some of these things seem like they were not taught by the game.
    Like, I knew the animation swap thing for having multiple characters out.
    And I eventually realized dodging had an attack tied to it.
    But what's the difference between specials and ex specials? Didn't know they were two different thing.
    And what button is the quick assist thing?
    And there's some sorta way to get free specials on dazed enemies? Is that right?
    I took my time with all the tutorials, and re-read through all the notes the game saves for you, and half of this stuff I feel like I've never even heard of.

      Ex specials are able to be used when your character has enough energy stored up! its the bar below their health bar. Quick assist will pop up in the bottom right corner of your screen when its available to be used defensively or offensively! And you can get extra damage and chain attacks on dazed enemies with the right setups!

    Honestly i think people are jumping into conclusions way too soon, like people are already talking about endgame. Bro its been 3 days and you are level 30 how you say its endgame 😭
    i swear people are sooo impatient sometimes. Great video, says alot about the real complexity of the game is on the interaction with the enemies, which wont be that deep on every encounter (just like hack'n slash games)

    I was doing the animation cancel thing on accident with Lucy's EX when switching to Anton and I assumed it was just a thing for her, but good to know that Ben does that too, Im accident to give it a go when I get to him!
    Quick question though, if I used smth like Ben's final attack on someone dazed and ready to be chain attacked, but I switch out right before he does it, will ghe enemy be stunned even though I'm not on Ben?

    I don't understand why people feel the need to make up reasons not to play the game. If you just don't like the game, then you don't have to. But pretending like it has no depth based on 1 hour of gameplay when that same exact complaint applies to literally every single gacha game (and most games in general) ever made is just silly
    Imagine someone making an elden ring critique and they call the game braindead easy because the enemies in limgrave are "too easy to beat" and they never even got to margit. That's what a lot of the complaints against ZZZ feel like at the moment

    Im trying to be optimistic of this games combat, i think the one thing its missing is being able to juggle enemies. Due to the lack of juggling most enemies aside from a few moves makes enemies feel like sponges

      There are a couple that can achieve this like Nekomata for example, her being able to make enemies flinch feels very nice imo, it’s almost like another party cause you can knock enemies out of their attack before it lands

    I’m having fun on Zenless zone zero so far and I really love the combat a little less than wuwa but I’m enjoying the game and I don’t know why people hating this game. WuWa is still my n1 game but you can play both and enjoying both , actually I hope my Miyabi comes quickly. Anyways good video

    I think the combat is fine , it's just the rewards. I don't see myself able to reach pitty in the first half of this patch , this is way too low for a game debut . Other game i would be able to easily get the limited character and even weapon if i spend all goodies in the early game while zzz , i can't even have enough for my third 10 pulls after hours grinding lol

    This game is firing on most cylinders for me. This is how i view the combat. Easily accessible but hard to master. Sonya (Mortal kombat) the game. Easily mistaken as a button basher. Getting a consistent 4 chain attack on a stunned enemy for example. I don't mind the TV sections in the place of traditional exploration. They reduce in frequency. Rank 23 at the moment

      Some cc's have down played the rewards. Claiming they only got 50 in the first 12 hours and no gaurantee s rank. Not amazing but in the first 12 hours I've gotten around 100 standard, 50 limited and 50 bangboo. In the standard that's your first Gaurantee and well into pity for the next. Also no gaurantee banner (WuWa) weapon. We have a bangboo selector that gaurantees you s rank item. Honestly they do more for the combat than a weapon. Making weapons not as prominent in terms of drip an gameplay is a good decision. I feel like in ZZZ I'll never have to touch that banner. Unlike other Hoyo games

    It's not my job to make the game interesting. It's the game's job to make me do more than just left click. I like the spectacle of ZZZ, the animations and the feedback of dodging and parrying. But it doesn't change the fact that the combat is as basic as it gets.

      Personally I so want to love ZZZ. On the surface it really appeals to me. The characters, the action, the stylish animations, even the slice-of-life stuff with the comings and goings around sixth street and the comic book panel storytelling. Devil May Cry is one of my favorite series of all time and so I'm always on the lookout for the next spectacle fighter. But so far at least ZZZ isn't it for me. Big shame. I'm jealous of people who like it.

    I’m not the best gamer, nor do I 100% understand the mechanics. But I understand them enough to get by. Maybe it won’t be effective long term, but if I hit that wall and break it down like I always do. I know there’s more I could be doing. I’m running off basic logic. I play this game as simply something to relieve stress and ease my mind. I ain’t trying to play like it’s DMC and study every small thing/character to be "effective". Like I said, I have a basic understanding of the mechanics and characters I currently own. I know I’ll never be at the level of play people who know everything are at. And to be honest, I don’t wanna be. I’m several hours into chapter 2 and I’m having fun. But I will admit, I get a bit self-conscious and a little discouraged to play because I keep seeing and hearing, "you should be/need to be playing like this". Don’t get me wrong, I get it. Help is help. But if it gets to the point that I gotta play a "certain way", I’ll hang it up. Regardless of how much I love the game. At that point it simply isn’t fun, it becomes taxing. I went through that with every DMC and I ain’t doing it again.

    I remember people mocking "HSR is too easy and shallow", only to get filtered 6 patch in by an overworld bug and a shiny boy 2 patches later, even malding so hard Hoyo had to nerf Aventurine 2 days after 2.1 lmao. For me the game is "easy" due to docile enemies rather than the combat mechanics, which can easily be fixed later on if they add more enemies/have more aggressive AI. I want them to add bosses so outrageous it can wipe the floor with your unit in 1-2 hit, has tons of unprompted attack with no warning flash, smash you so fast you barely have room to counter and chain em up several time so you can't abuse the dodge window.

      I agree with most of what you are saying, but I think the parry being easy is a good things cause you can’t parry forever, you will eventually run out if you don’t trigger a chain attack. But in wuthering waves the parry is infinite as long as you have the skill but theirs no point system. I think the parry should stay easy to do but hard to manage in the future. They can achieve this by making you choose which moves to parry wisely and which one to actual just dodge instead
