    as long as the carbon is on the belly I kind of feel okay, what still worries me is carbon on the back without anything above it

      @bambooarchery  Před rokem +6

      Carbon is twice as strong in tensile than in compression. If the same carbon thickness is used on both sides, the back will always be at far lower risk, and the belly will always be at far higher risk. Most carbon bow fails at their belly.

      @@bambooarchery yeah I reckon your right. My full carbon Majesty bow broke and it snapped on the belly side. Sucks.

    Nice observations. My AF archery Si Cai carbon bellied bow blew up on the carbon side after less than one week of shooting. Perhaps the carbon was stressed too much.
    Hell of a powerful bow while it lasted. Wished I had a chrony back then.

      For carbon bow, most bowyers do them wrongly. That's why I had corrected Mariner and Yuwen Carbon bows to prevent these kind of problems. Now our modified Mariner Carbon and Yuwen Carbon are exclusive for us. If interested, please contact me via WhatsApp +60122669631

    Is it necessary to put carbon on a longbow? Wouldn’t that be the most stable bow design?

    • @bambooarchery
      @bambooarchery  Před rokem

      No, not necessary. Longbow is already stable. But you can still improve performance by a little.

    Great video. Im a new bowyer and looking for advice on how carbon is applied appropriately. If I have fiberglass limbs on both belly/back with bamboo core can I use carbon fiber fabric directly under the glass on both sides for aesthetics?

    • @bambooarchery
      @bambooarchery  Před 8 měsíci

      You can but it'll be slightly ugly, the white streaks of the glass will be obvious against the black background

    Does Mariner's Warring States 2 (56 inch long) count as a long limbed bow? Is it worth the risk of putting a carbon layer in it?

    • @bambooarchery
      @bambooarchery  Před rokem

      Yes, the WS2 limb is long enough to be safe for carbon. Yes, the carbon is worth it but I'll clarify below:
      1. Thin carbon core in the middle is completely useless. So don't waste your money.
      2. Full carbon core has too much carbon, waste of money for worse efficiency and handshock/vibration.
      3. Modified full carbon that we use has natural core + thick carbon belly improves efficiency, handshock/vibration, durability. However this option is pricey because there's still a lot of carbon being used, and carbon itself is expensive.
      4. We have a new version, thin carbon back + natural core + thick glass belly. This provides identical performance and durability as option 3, but is cheaper than option 1. That's because we better utilize the material where it is most cost effective. We recommend this version over older options 1, 2, or 3. But note that this is not a standard option, it is uniquely and exclusively made for Bamboo Archery only.

    About how stable is the ming moon 4 with the modified carbon core that you just got? I saw the Facebook post and am hoping they haven't destroyed themselves yet haha ^^;

    • @bambooarchery
      @bambooarchery  Před rokem

      Absolutely stable, no issue whatsoever. Both the Ming4 and improved Ottoman seems to have no issue after being strung for a couple of weeks. There's no sign of trouble, because that's the first thing I check each time I reach the shop. The older batch with original full carbon showed bad signs right on the first day, and gotten worse very quickly. The modified carbon has already outlived the previous batch by alot and still showed no sign of any stress.

      @bambooarchery5889 that's good to hear! I'll likely look into placing a order around when spring starts then! Thanks a bunch!
