@ciscodeer9094 If the Original Trilogy was first released in this kind of media environment, it would be picked apart. People would look everywhere for plot holes and retcons and all these other concepts we have.
The prequels were released as this environment was starting to take shape. None of these movies are flawless- many are far more flawed than the others- but there are so many people who just go into something knowing it's not for them and hating it even though they knew they wouldn't like it.

I love how these weirdos think Filoni will delete the sequels from the canon despite he literally created a cartoon set during the sequel era and is setting up concepts the sequels will use like the possible Snoke in a jar in Mando season 2.
For real
Has anyone ever noticed that after putting in more sequel trilogy content into his projects that people have only *now* turned against Dave Filoni and stuff like The Madalorian season 3 and Ahsoka? And just ignoring the fact that not only are people ignoring the fact that George Lucas came up with most if not all of the controversial sequel trilogy ideas, but also was literally seen on set for Mando season 2?
*Crazy right?*
Lol yes, it's hilarious how the fans were so terrible to Lucas that he said "fuck y'all" and sold SW, then they switched to desperately wanting him back because they think he'll "fix" it, while ignoring why he left in the first place.
And people turning on Filoni was inevitable for sure, someone can only be the saviour before they get to do anything. Then when they do make things people just want something else. When it comes down to it I feel like some people just need to stop watching SW, or in my main fandom, MCU. For the MCU people are still whining about how everything after EG sucks, and it's like, if you feel like that then literally why are you still watching? It's been four years and enough projects to know if you're not feeling it any more.
So it comes down to two things, either people just like to keep whining, or they lack the ability to comprehend they don't need to keep watching (I also see this with long running shows like Grey's Anatomy or Supernatural, people wanting them to be cancelled so they can be "free". NO ONE'S MAKING YOU KEEP WATCHING, YOU WEIRDOS).
Life's too damn short, if you aren't having fun then go do something that makes you happy, ffs. I know if I stop liking something I just peace out and leave it be, I don't have a weird thing about sticking around until it's not being made anymore, or to hang around hate-watching things. I'm not even that busy in my life but even I ain't got time for that.
@@natf7942Funny that you mention the MCU since I've largely disinterested in it since Endgame, and only saw the two Spider-Man films after it, so in that sense I consider No Way Home as "the end". You could argue that the quality of their stuff has gotten poorer, but the real reason why I stopped is because I am disinterested. You don't see me bashing other people for liking something I don't agree with though. Likewise I'm not gonna hate people for simply not liking something from Star Wars. The hate they gain has only ever existed to get attention, and that's how it its always been, even long before the Disney buyouts. I'm not gonna pretend that I like Disney's overall business practices, (I mean just look at their parks’ decreasing quality and rising prices) but no one actually hates any of the games Nintendo puts out just because they hate the company. There's a distinct difference between people *making* something, and a company owning and approving said projects for their properties. If everything was purely for nothing more than corporate gain alone then they wouldn't have allowed anyone to take risks for TLJ under any circumstances, or even do little things like killing off Han Solo in the first film. (Other than not paying Harrison Ford, but come on Disney is rich) I think bringing Palpatine back is the only true instance of them trying to play it "safe" after TLJ since that's a concept ripped straight from Legends, but it wouldn't be the first time something that's clearly canon did that. George Lucas did that with the prequel trilogy too, where do you think Coruscant and Aayla Secura came from? It's definitely still a move I think George Lucas made by all accounts.
People can waste their time coming up with excuses to hate and even harass people irl over some opinions all they want, but the fact of the matter is that it's all a waste of time, and if anything all it will do is make things worse. Literally *everything* Star Wars related has received some sort of widely known hate in the fandom, the only difference now being that it’s louder for more people to see with everyone using the internet as HelloGreedo has said many times before. I for one like the sequel trilogy and newer shows, but if you don't then that's ok. But please don't get up and personal about all of it for some opinions on a fictional franchise you don't agree with. Not everything has to be like Citizen Kane. I *appreciate* it when we can get stuff like Andor, I love it, but it underperformed in comparison to the other shows for a reason, and that reason is escapism and fantasy, not even larger lessons for how the real world works. That stuff is admittedly only really relevant for lore junkies anyways, the average consumer just doesn't care even when it's objectively good and that's the truth. We should consider ourselves lucky that Andor even exists in the first place. Again, if this was all purely for profit then they wouldn't take risks like that even after the sequels. (And spoilers, Hosnian Prime gets brought up in that too)
Just like you you like and dislike what you dislike. You can even point out some things for why that is for a discussion. But people acting toxic over stuff that is trivial as if their life depended on it is ridiculous. Critique does not have to equal malice for hours on end insulting every single detail like the vast majority of the fandom menace does. And funnily enough whenever said people try to make things themselves, they often times end up sucking even more, even up to points where they go against their own advice. That is what we call hypocrisy. Maybe instead of trying to apply rocket science and death threats to everything we can just choose to ignore or, if they have enough talent, improve things to what they think is better. Funny though that so far no one has finished a convincing enough fan edit for the sequel trilogy that improves it in a significant way if the problem was so big. *Hm…*
@@ZacharyDietze The MCU has been going for 15 years now, it's not at all weird for people to want to tap out at a very obvious stepping off point like EG. Before the MCU I was all about TV show fandom and I used to get tired of those in a few years, so I fully get it. But yeah it's about the people who seem to get off on hanging around and complaining about every damn thing it puts out now and acting like it's all crap. In all honesty I'm enjoying the MCU as much as I was pre-EG, but that's also because I didn't think pre-EG was utter perfection and it feels like there's a decent amount of rose-coloured glasses on when people compare things then and now. They obviously had a really good run, but acting like every single movie was amazing is like, nah. But I respect if people aren't feeling it now, we all like different things.
I'm much less into Star Wars by comparison, I do enjoy it enough. I haven't started watching Ahsoka yet because I have a bad memory and I want to marathon it so I can remember what happens lol. But man, TLJ broke peoples' brains, that's the point I feel like things started to turn to shit in fandom tbh. That film managed to piss off people on both sides and seemed to make some of them psychotic. Personally TLJ is my favourite SW film, but bloody hell, I don't really talk about it now because praising in inevitably leads some wackjob to demand I explain objectively why I enjoyed it, as though that's something I owe them. Like ffs, personal opinions are a thing, I'm not just saying I loved it to trigger you. I can't believe I stayed arguing and defending it for two years before going, what the hell am I doing and realising I can just not reply to people who hate it. There is no winning there.
Like I didn't really care for TRoS, it felt kinda empty, they did backtrack on things (I'll always be bitter that Rey was a Palpatine even though TFA and TLJ both made it clear she was a nobody), but I can watch it and enjoy things about it too. Like I really loved the Rey/Kylo dyad and how it gave them unique powers, it was cool seeing them in each others' spaces and Rey trying to hide from Kylo until she slips up. It was just... aggressively fine when it should've been spectacular. Oh man, I just remembered about the Snokes, that was also dumb. But oh well, I'm not going to go crazy about it and rant all over the place that they could've finished strongly and instead just kinda farted over the finish line.
I definitely get being invested in fandom, I was like that for so many years. But most of the time I did keep it positive, not that I didn't have issues sometimes but jesus, I didn't just rant on and on like there was nothing redeemable about my fandom at the time. And now fuckheads are using it for culture wars and you can't watch anything without bigots going crazy and trying to claim they're the downfall of humanity and masculinity, which is another big reason I avoid it for the most part. The toxicity is overwhelming and it's harder to find decent places to discuss.
And yes, it's so funny when people look at creators or actors and make up conspiracies about them, like for actors how they hate things that they hate happened with their character, or with creators that they're gonna save us all. If anything, my years in fandom taught me to trust no one, especially when it comes to creators. It's just healthy and not even in a "they all suck" way, just in a "don't get your hopes up and project your fantasies about them doing what you want" way, because that rarely turns out well.
A lot of fans don't realise we come at entertainment from a totally different perspective than creators (and actors), so it's unlikely they'll follow what we want or if they do that they'll do it in a way that we specifically desire. I can't count how many times I got ahead of myself, though a story was going in one direction, only for it to go in a totally different way. Eventually I learned but it took a while. At least I did though, seems like some people don't want to.
💯
I don't know these people and honestly, I am not qualified on this subject.
A big problem is also things like the CZcams algorithm, once your on a streak of negativety, you will be caught in a loop of people who agree with one another. Dave Filoni once put out a post saying “I hope y’all enjoy the last Jedi like we(the rebels development team) did” yeah I don’t think he hates the sequels. In fact it’s clear he’s doing with the Disney+ shows what he did with the prequels with clone wars
I have my personal nitpicks with Filoni’s writing sometimes, but it’s nice to see that he’s doing everything in his power to put a positive spin on the sequels just like he did with the prequels.

Ah yes....The Star Wars "Confirmed Rumor" mill. Never gets old. Never dies. Never ceases to have belivers.
A certain channel (I will refrain from naming it) that has been more or less antagonistic towards "Disney" Star Wars shared their feelings on the first couple of episodes on "Ahsoka", particularly in regards to how the Force can be accessed by those with a connection to it.
Basically, they learned that they had misunderstood the Force for years, and it was only because of Dave Filoni adhering to this lore in "Ahsoka" that they came to this realization. Because of this, they openly admitted they "never would have gotten into this franchise nor loved star wars as much as [they] did because [they do] not like this concept at all." Because of their discovery, they also said "star wars is such a disappointment apparently even before disney took over.", ending with a final "I'm done with this franchise i think..."
*Yet of course, after the Hayden episode came out, not only are they making more content surrounding "Disney" Star Wars for their channel, but they also deleted that post (which, ironically, had a picture of Hayden's Anakin).*
You can either believe me or not, but it's true. I still have the screenshot prior to the deletion because I was amazed at how this channel had overreacted.
I believe. I remember G+G had a video about talking about liking TLJ... then that video disappeared, and it was replaced by vitriol for views
That „i love Dave Filoni and i hatte Kathleen Kennedy“ bullsh*t is so funny! Especially since she gave him the Job! Hahahaha
I’ve come to accept that people in general are just very conceded and arrogant, they only care about themselves, causing for them to believe conspiracy’s and wishful thinking that satisfies their own wants. Us sequel trilogy people will have our time in the sun one day, where the vocal majority online will hopefully at the very least; see the good aspects of Disney era Star Wars, rather than focusing solely on the negative.
Love this
I'm disappointed overall with the sequels but you are totally correct
Keep up the positivity!! Goodness knows we need it.
There are just a lot of people out there who are determined to die on the Disney Can't Do Star Wars Right (Ever!) hill, to a point where it's frankly embarrassing. There's no nuance to the conversation, just endless hating on Kathleen Kennedy and Disney overusing impalement and not cutting off enough limbs or whatever.
It's tunnel-vision, and it's sad. There can't be a discussion about how Star Wars can improve if the starting point is always going to be "Disney Bad, Star Wars Ruined Forever."
Used to fall into that crowd and believe that information. Its really a pit of ignorance that takes time to get out of but its possible.

And for some reason CZcams thinks that if you like to watch videos about Star Wars, you'd want to watch ANY videos about Star Wars. CZcams doesn't make a distinction between the good videos and the BS videos.
Dave is literally just a person, he's not some Star wars God or something. People hold him in high regard because of the clone wars show rebels and of course the mandalorian. I'm not doubting he has obtained the skills to make great star wars content, I'm just saying people who view him like the next George Lucas are kind of deluding themselves, hit the breaks people. Not that this matters to anybody but I'll just throw this out there because it's actually a fact about Dave's work experience, he learned how to properly film and do live action work because he was on set when the new trilogy was being made. I'm not saying or determining the quality of those films I'm just saying he was there getting tips from Rian and JJ because spoilers he didn't know everything at the time. Like the saying goes knowledge is power. that's probably why he praises those movies cuz they taught him how to do things he wasn't sure about.

I think at this point its just flat-out desperation at this point. We want Star Wars to be good again, and we're so desperate we'll take/believe anything if it gives us hope, which is kind of ironic since one of Star Wars' main themes is hope. A lot of people cling to that and at this point its honestly more healthy to just let go of that hope. Yeah Lucas buying back Star Wars makes no sense. He sold it for like $4 billion or so and I’m sure Star Wars is now worth more than that. Even if Star Wars somehow lost value I don’t think Disney would be willing to sell it for anything less than what they paid for it unless they were really struggling to stay in business. If he bought it back he’d end up losing money and would have to work extremely hard instead of relaxing in retirement only to never make back what he lost. Lucas wanted to retire with some extra cash so he sold Star Wars which was an amazing deal for himself. If he truly wanted to keep working on it or keep it in the family or something he never would have sold it in the first place.
Not only did he sell it for $4 billion, he got a large share of Disney stocks on top of that.

Almost everyone is desperate for change.
For some folks they're hoping for new changes that will bring their reality closer to some idylic future.

Mecha Luke will fight Spider-legs Maul in the climax and it's bold in terms of jerking people around but...I may have gone too far in a few places...
People have an uncanny knack for believing those things that they wish to be true. Lucas is the only human who could, credibly, de-canonize the sequels and create new ones, which would make a great many fans happy. Rumors play on such deeply-felt wishes.
George Lucas making a new sequel trilogy to de-canonize the one we got would only make people happy until they actually saw his take on the sequels. And then those same people would start whining again about how bad they turned out and how incompetent Lucas is. Just like it was with the prequels, which is one of the reasons he didn't want to do the sequels himself.
@@SoundboxMischke Indeed, I'm speaking more of the initial announcement than the reality of such a replacement trilogy. But it's not just true that Lucas could surpass the low bar set by Disney's trilogy- a great many other filmmakers could, starting by planning its course in advance.

George Lucas is buying back Star Wars and next week Kathleen Kennedy is getting fired for reeeelzzzz this time we swear 😂
Anything you read question the sources. Especially if it’s something you agree with.
Haven't checked out this channel in a long time, and I realise how much I should, as HelloGreedo is one of the best Star Wars youtubers out there! And yeah - I think the invention of the internet and social media to humans is the same as the invention of the car was to cats and dogs. Of course, with cats and dogs and cars tends to end rather terminally, but it's still, I stand by my comment!
Thoughts on David Grusch and his UFO claims?
can you uncensor the word shit please? and Agreed ^^
Hey did you hear George Lucas is buying back Star Wars??
YES? YES
HelloGreedo is buying Star Wars!
George is pissed because he said he wanted more muff in Star Wars (meaning Ewoks) not, well,... So yeah, he's buying it back to fix that.
The internet can have a strong influence on the weak minded. 😅
But… it’s not morning and nor do I drink coffee 🥺 is evening tea acceptable? 👉👈
BS rumors about Dave Filoni or Tony Gilroy (as another example from last year) trying to “save Star Wars” from Disney is why I don’t engage with the general fandom anymore and only stick to myself (and whatever small corners I can find). Aside from the rampant hatred and genuine toxicity (both political and non-political), you’ve got wack conspiracy theories like this that circulate all over Twitter, Facebook and CZcams.
I love morning coffee ☕☕☕
One day maybe Mike zeroh will stop his crap
This is the same kind of thing that happens about certain people being fired or let go by Lucas Film and honestly idk how these channels still get so many views even though they are proven wrong almost 99% of the time.
Brilliant video
As usual
Did Star Wars Theory say this, or was that a fever dream?
