  • In a recent unexpected development, Burkina Faso has taken a bold step forward in language education by launching a groundbreaking TV show dedicated to learning English and Chinese. This innovative initiative has captured the attention of residents across the nation, sparking widespread interest and optimism about the prospects of acquiring these languages.
    As a predominantly French-speaking country, the introduction of English and Chinese languages represents a significant departure from the linguistic norms of Burkina Faso. However, rather than viewing this as a challenge, many residents see it as an exciting opportunity to expand their horizons and enhance their skills in languages that hold immense global significance.
    The decision to focus on English and Chinese reflects Burkina Faso's recognition of the importance of linguistic diversity in today's interconnected world. English, as the lingua franca of international business, diplomacy, and academia, offers access to a wealth of economic opportunities and facilitates communication on a global scale. Similarly, the growing influence of China in the global arena makes proficiency in Mandarin Chinese an invaluable asset for individuals seeking to engage with one of the world's largest economies.
    Residents of Burkina Faso are expressing their enthusiasm for the new TV show, recognizing the potential benefits it could bring to their personal and professional lives. By mastering English and Chinese, they hope to not only improve their employability but also foster stronger relationships with partners and stakeholders both domestically and internationally.
    The decision to broadcast English and Chinese language learning programs on national free-to-air television in Burkina Faso marks a significant step forward in promoting linguistic diversity and accessibility to education. This move carries profound implications, particularly for a broader audience that may not have had previous access to language training due to financial constraints or other limitations.
    By making English and Chinese language instruction available on free-to-air television, Burkina Faso is democratizing access to language education. This means that individuals from all socio-economic backgrounds, including those who may not be able to afford traditional language courses or materials, now have the opportunity to learn these valuable languages from the comfort of their own homes.

    Learning other African and Foreign Languages are positive moves and the right way forward for Burkina Faso. The day the children of Mother Africa in the Motherland and in the Diaspora stop speaking the French Language, the language will go extinct. France imposed its French language on all its colonies in Africa, the Caribbean, West Indies, etc., whose populations are overwhelmingly Black. France writes and publishes all the books which are used from nursery to university education, and including all the professional educational institutions in all its colonies to this very day. France sells these educational books to it’s colonies at hefty prices. France colonialism of the educational system of it’s colonies in Africa and other parts of the world, must stop.

    To truly unify and economically empower Black people throughout Africa and the diaspora, there need to be mandatory instruction in the three languages below in all schools throughout Africa and the independently owned Black schools throughout the diaspora;
    1. Swahili
    2. English
    3. Spanish
    And a fourth language as an elective. Chinese may be selected by the student as an elective or another African language!
    Note, most of the African's in the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade was dispersed to South America!
    After South America, then the slaves were transported to the United States.
    So, there are millions of Black people who already speak Spanish and English!
    Then, to communicate with the brothers and sisters in Africa, Swahili and English can be used but also another African language could be used as well.
    BUT, TO TRULY UNIFY, WE MUST BE CONNECTED TO GOD ON A PERSONAL LEVEL AND BE HOLY, OBEY ALL OF GOD'S COMMANDMENTS AND HAVE A COMMON PURPOSE, MISSION AND A VISION!

      We don't need a language to unite though. We need to do business with each other (like the EU).

      The more you learn, the better off you are in this world. People who can speak more than one language are often the more intelligent people.

      Yes your right but your educators should get all your technical and science books translated into Swahili or any of the main African languages in order to maintain these languages and prevent them from dying out. After that you can learn a European or one of those Russian or Chinese languages if you wish.
