Just when I forgot how good Kite was, he reminded me that he was a monster. He took everything here.
Props to Monsta Pop for getting once more to the finals, we can clearly see that he has plenty of room for improvement and that's a scary thing.

This was a really close battle, even though I was rooting for Kite before I pressed play Monsta showed a lot of diversity and innovation which in my opinion are the two most important things a dancer should have. Close call but I'm really happy Kite won!

Amazing battle but the video quality seemed quite bad tbh. SDF is one of the biggest events out there. Sure they could re-upload it and render in 60fps for us to see the details (also for the other rounds to come too). Congrats kite!!

Music was lack luster...sorry my DJ , but they needed more higher energy tracks. The first song by Jamie Lidell was dope though.

Well, I think music will never be the main point on juding a batlle. Of course some music bring more hype to the battle or sometimes are more suitable for a specifics styles of dance but I really think it's all on the dancer!

Im pretty indifferent about the result but I noticed whenever it comes to the crowd vote SDF crowds get Champions Fatigue.
Meaning if you've won the competition mulitple times crowds give you less & less energy everytime they see you perform either because they've seen you multiple times in videos and arent impressed by what you do. But also because crowds like to root for underdogs and dont wanna see the same person win (because most people see themselves in the underdogs, easy to cheer for).

Comments like these are very common.
Its why Serial Stepperz are often given very little crowd love(amongst other reasons) or why folks like Meech & Yugson & Monstapop have a hard time winning it more than twice despite outclassing their opponents.
I also noticed that these crowds are very shallow in their understanding of dance and go crazy for hype & wild movements/"beatkills". Which is funny because you figure in a room full of dancers you wouldn't get what youd get at an event in front of the general public.
Also the DJ for summer dance forever is trash for HipHop/Popping Category. How yall playing the same tracks year to year and playing the same track in both hip hop and popping. No wonder hip hop looks so fkin strange in your countries.
These are just observations though, good battle for finals!
Aba & Preach The dj was alright, I didn't know they played the same tracks in the hip hop category but when it comes to DJ'ing for popping they just played the same tracks played at most events including the ones in Montréal

I agree with some of the things you said but nah Gucchon smoked Greenteck.
I think for me, the DJ's could've been more on point at this event. They always need to come prepared with fire, but to each their own in how they prepare and view whats going to be the best track for that moment/round. Didn't know about the repetition of tracks though so thats a fail. I can't speak on who was DJ'n but some of the cats are Vets in their own right but when you play the same event every year, you start to run out of fire. Happened to me before, but I can totally tell their is some surface level digging of music from these DJ's. I know Nobunaga is legit and edits and produces his own tracks. I don't know if he was djing this event though. I say this surface level digging because it looked like they watched a final popping battle and took that music and played it for their final lol. Example: here is me/the DJ dropping that same track at the beginning. czcams.com/video/VQoDOAxGSwg/video.html and this was back in February! This is just speculation because anyone can find music and play it and claim they were the first to drop it in a battle, but this is such a particular song to drop especially from a somewhat old catalog of Jamie Lidell.
