  • It seems all great stories come in three Acts!
Here's a video created showing the history of ACT I and ACT II, which shows where we came from and the direction I am leading Fantasy of Flight ACT III. If you never got the chance to visit us in the past, this video will give you a very good impression of what we offered.
There is a bit of inspiration at the end, with which I hope everyone will relate!

If Act III is still about aviation, awesome. I just can’t tell at this point if I should expect to see airplanes or unicorns. Or both maybe.

I have always followed my dreams and so have you Kermit. My dreams have been at times a real hard struggle. But they took me from being a dirt poor no body kid from a small Florida town to be able to live a fairly successful life. They also inabled me to own my own airplane and learn to fly it and get my pilot license. Now I am seeing another dream materialize I am building one. You are an inspiration and I think you should continue to reach out to the world and inspire generations to come with what you are doing. Follow those dreams and make it happen. Nothing worth doing is almost never easy.

Kermit, over the years I've watched countless hours of your videos. Hundreds of hours I won't get back and I do not regret one minute. I got to see a man grow, meet all his dreams, his spirit exposed, his emotions tripped and face real challenges. I talk about Kermit Weeks to my grown children.
Always keep in mind "All of the good and worthwhile journeys come to an end".
This I think is the one lesson that life could teach you. You know this but fight it out of personal ambition, your passion for history and you want to share. You have inspired this Aussie man to dream big dreams and no doubt a million other people like me. If you do choose to scale down always remember you did it bloke.
    You did it all!
You flew like an angel in my mind and in the minds of countless others. Love U Bloke thank you!

I feel in my Spirit that , We, pilots, need a " Pilot freedom day". To many licensed pilots are grounded due to Age, lost their MEDICAL requirements, and the excessive cost of flying. We need a week, where we can go, to a place, where ALL does restrictions are not enforced, and again, enjoy the freedom of TRUE freedom of flight. Just saying.

ACT lll is something I've needed for most of my life, but the sands of time are now running low and I'll likely not live long enough to have that experience. However, I believe too many of us are afraid of not only change, but of being changed. Because of the aviation aspect, I would be easily drawn to FoF act 3, and I would (I think) accept change and of being changed. How many of us, are too content with our lives, even though we know we could be better, but fear discovering ourselves because the change would be overwhelming? Will I lose the love of family/friends, or will they no longer love me? Will I despair that I could have accomplished more and have not? These and other questions could keep people at arms lenght.
Kermit is on a different plane of awareness. I've known only one person in my life that could truly relate to him. She was once my doctor, but when she began esposing thoughts, ideas, and a plane of being, I grew leery of her and ended the doctor/patient relationship. And then Kermit comes out talking much like my Dr. Karen and I immediately regretted thinking she was nuts. How many leaders like Kermit and Dr. Karen are out there? Too few I fear. People that love aviation are few in numbers, and it will take all of them plus the tens of thousands (millions perhaps) that do not look up at a passing aircraft to have this work. Without a doubt, Kermit has vision, but he also has the courage to share that vision. I pray that this works.

Hey Kermit I have been following you for about 20 years. Yeah not just on here, but ever since I found out about you. The alternate reality you talk of I think is somewhere we go when stress pushes us there. Not saying it isn't real. I know it is. But it is for ourselves to understand and others to find out. Real, non assisted flight is a dimension by itself, not many people nowadays fly without the aid of some sort of electronic device. It is truly a feeling of floating and I am not talking about lift. Hard to explain. After my first book about a Beaufighter I was going to write a book about the passion of flight. But as with most things I can not even finish the first one. For me the French have a saying that fits my life perfectly. " C'est La Vie!"

It is great to have some prior warnings and gut feelings about things and what we may call 'downloads' and I welcome it. Many are scared of such things and therefore do not benefit from it. Others just mock what they know nothing about. Either way they lose and never reach their multidimensional understanding of themselves and the way it is.

We grew up with everything WW2 and much of the nostalgia of the day still around. We all admired the warbirds and the brave men who flew them. We knew everybody joined together to help save this country. Flight museums were in demand as we all wanted to see how flight advanced so quickly in the face of losing our country. That generation has all but faded and passed. I would love to go see a B-29, but more over I want to see the person who had the guts to fly it in the face of death (Paul Tibbets). As they all pass, we are left with empty hulls.

Kermit, we all wish and hope for the best outcome in Act III! I agree that you need that little something to entice people who are not airplane crazy to want to come and spend time and money. I believe the key is a balance of making it happen where you don't drive away any of your customer base, but you entice them enough to want to come back again and to tell their friends. What that key is I don't know at the moment, but I believe you do. So again the best of luck and I can

..I only wish I could have/would have visited the Weeks Air Museum and Fantasy of Flight in the 1980's/1990's/early 2000's..watching this old footage makes me realize what I missed and how awesome it was...and I fear there may never be anything like this again..the Naval Aviation museum in Pensacola and the USAF museum in Dayton are awesome, but there is something missing in that the planes there do not FLY...I am one of the old guard, I guess, who has always been fascinated by seeing/touching history, something rare and historical..I have always been fascinated with pacific islands with old Japanese and American aircraft wrecks scattered on them..seeing historical, seemingly extinct aircraft resurrected from the dead, like the Grumman F3F, the B-26 Marauder, the Pearl Harbor vet P-40-B, etc.. touring and watching B-17's, B-24's, B-29's, etc...and holding hope that the day that will come that we will see a Kawasaki KI-61, Brewster F2A, etc. take to the air again...that someone will discover the remains of a Republic P-43 Lancer and recover/restore it..the rarer and more obscure the aircraft, the more I like it!...yes..I suppose I am a member of a dying breed...anyway, Thank you, Kermit, for doing what you have done for so long, and I am sure whatever Act 3 ends up being, it will be awesome!... :)

Happy Birthday! I'll be 60 also in July. I always loved aviation and had just about every computer flight simulator ever made at one time. I ended up being a Tampa Firefighter and spent the last 15 years of my 30 year career at Tampa International driving the Airport fire trucks. I loved when Fantasy of Flight had the WW2 Pacific flight simulators there way back in the day. Nowadays, with more advanced flight sim programs and VR they could easily add another attraction of this type. DCS World landing on a carrier, microsoft flight sim landing or taking off from Tampa. Ect. Good to see that the attraction is still going.

There are flying model aircraft out there but gone are the diesel glow plug engines of the past and are now electric. They make a whirring noise, not the high revving sound of the air cooled engines smelling of nitro methane. I tried recently to find an entry level gas engine radio controlled airplane...no luck. I'm 69 years old now and remember laying in the grass in my front yard and T6 Texans flying over from the local airbase. I guess those days are gone. Where have all the smart people gone. They're still there but they live in air conditioned houses, drive air conditioned SUVs, work in air conditioned buildings and never go outside. And the politics, I can't even go there. Thanks to Kermit for keeping these aircraft flying but I fear that it will all go to naught.

Act 3? We do not know what it will be about. Possibly Flight, Aircraft, Training? If it is to do with New Age Spirituality I'm out and do not believe it will fly (forgive the pun). That would be a bigger gamble that what you have already done.

Curtiss Museum in NY State and Cole Palen founded museum north of NYC seem to be getting by, maybe advancing. Curtiss Mansion north of MIA opened as a small dinner/entertainment facility a year or two ago after being derelict for decades.

The ways fantasy of flight can inspire people to embrace something they love is awesome. Something I truly wish I had used to help my buds out earlier. That spirit of the fighter tour in particular seemed amazing. Looking forward to seeing your museum soon!

We are the last generation that actually went out and did things. Younger people now live on their phones, so they have no appreciation for old cars, old airplanes or for the accurate history of our country. All I can suggest is seek out those who do appreciate things and encourage the piss out of it

There are three points for success let see: price, customers or product. all of them are linked in some way.
Obiusly you cannot fly every visitor, but something in between, older visitors and aeronautic connoisseurs will get hook up with heroic histories and achievements. However, youngers will get hook up with tech. brilliants ideas always fly around, but success float in front of you.

To be honest, the only way to appreciate flying (like sailing - my sport!) is to do it. If your guests are not participating then they are just watching, and participants are the ones who love it the most. 'Guided tours', and 'cafes' are not very engaging, the actual act of taking to the air (how about trips to Cuba!) are where the buzz is.
