- OK, Gang, we’ve got a great video with a great personality this week that Phil(mer) put together using footage shot a few years ago while creating a tease for a Reality Show concept. In the end, it wasn’t going to work out due to the limited things we had to offer at Fantasy of Flight at the time, but it certainly has future potential as ACT III comes out of the ground! Hope you enjoy it!

Kermit Weeks
Thank you Travis for your service and Thank you Kermit for your kindness to Travis !
I can't wait to visit FOF again. Too bad that I didn't see Kermit last time I visited. I have a genuine interest in antique aircraft and would like to learn more and I believe what Kermit is doing here can really inspire me to do something worthwhile.
Being a visually impaired vet, this really hit me. Great place you have and so close to where i live. Truly a gem in Florida.
Kermit your view on life and helping others see life from a bigger picture is absolutely amazing! I can't wait for FOF to become your dream and help others. I can't say enough, that is just incredible
I had PTSD for more than 30 years without realising there was this little monster in my head driving my life, I don't think i'm free of it but I've got my hands on most of the controls now.
That bicycle ride brought back childhood memories, when we tried to ride it with left hand on the right and right hand on the left end of the bar. I really loved this little off the aircraft track episode here, to show us what happens inside ourselves when facing a new challenge. Thank you Travis for sharing your struggle and for not getting upset.
I am pretty sure Travis would tell you he is nothing special, he did the job he was told to do. In his heart he has the love for his Military Brothers as I still do 51 years on.
Kermit you are very intuitive.
Kermit thank you for being the catalyst in giving Travis some time to further heal through what you have achieved at Fantasy of Flight,he will never forget that flight in the P-40,your kindness and understanding towards others holds no boundaries.
I was in Afghanistan too in 2010 in Bravo camp, in Ghazni district.
Quote: "Flight is a profound metaphor for pushing your boundaries" Love it !
Kermit, please keep it up. God Bless American and so proud of Travis Hall. Thank you both.
There's the kid in Travis just like there is in all of us. You could see it, on the bike, in the Warhawk AND in the Spitfire. A great episode to watch so thankyou to both of you.
Kermit no words! You are amazing! Thanks for sharing this with all of us! Wish Travis all the best in his future.
Wishing Travis all the best!!! Thank you Kermit for showing him a great time!!! Wish someday you could maybe do a Veterans Day or visit . Enjoy watching also!!
"Limited things to offer"? that is like saying Disney has a few attractions! This would have been one of the few Reality Shows worth watching! And THANK YOU Mr Hall for your Service Sir!
As one vet to another, you are the Man! Thanks to Kermit for everything, he really respects the Vets....words cannot express. Good luck soldier, you will find your place someday soon and share your experiences with our younger vets, peace soldier.
Combatants have a brotherhood of a shared experience whatever war they served in. My father was in the Burmese Jungle in WW2, he very rarely, if ever spoke of it...Thanks to his generation mine was never required to do the same again.... Love your channel Kermit.
Mr. Weeks, I first visited FoF in 2000 when I was serving at MacDill AFB. What an experience!! I'll be coming back with my wife in the very near future after 21 years to see it but it's obvious you've continued your amazing calling of showing the great experience of flight to the world. The service you render preserving and sharing such history is incalculable. You, Sir, are a national treasure.
Thanks Kermit , watching and reading about you for years I truly believe you are one in a billion
How great this is, most inspirational on a video, thank you Kermit. Big salute from a Korean War Veteran to you Travis, a Green Beret, now that's big. Folks ask me if I would I do it again, I say, "in a heart beat". Us old guys get older, so we leave it to the young folks. Been to Fantasy of Flight several years ago, enjoyed every minute. So I will go again some day soon, living in Lake Wales, it's an opportunity.
That was absolutely brilliant of you Kermit, Travis has a way to go but i think you have helped him greatly. Well done from a follower in the u k👍👌👍
Thanks Kermit. It was very rewarding to watch the experience that Travis had, for the day, that you gave, at FoF. It was very heartfelt that he actually expressed in the Spitfire cockpit what he was feeling, when he said "I'm a little emotional right now.". That's powerful.
Thank you to Phil, your other recording technicians and yourself for putting this all together and to Travis Hall for allowing his special day to be shared and felt by those that have chosen to watch and give a thumbs up.
Kermit, for me, this is the best video I have seen you produce. What an outstanding experience you provided for Mr. Hall. Thank You for all that you do for our Veterans and Thank You, Mr. Hall, for Serving our Great Country and making it possible for all of us to remain safe. May you have a Blessed Life and many, many years of joy.
I know nothing about PTSD. Not having lived thru the things Travis has. But flying has to be great therapy. Just the act of flying gives you something else to concentrate on and being in the air is therapy in itself. That was a great thing you did. I need to visit FOF. 👍
@Greg Merryman Every time the wheels left the ground, all the complexities of life stayed there - for me it was absolutely therapeutic - totally free from worry. Saddest day of my life was when my GP told me he would never certify me to solo due to prior medical illness - he also happened to be the local AME. Thank you for bringing that sense of relief and freedom to Travis, Kermit!
Kermit, you make a great mentor to all of us on challenges and pushing boundaries. Keep up the great work!
My dad always spoke of the green beret.s as some of our military.s ultimate personnel... i admire you greatly.. and the pilot has my respect as well. for giving the ride in a war hawk... i salute.. both of you.... if its acceptable.... have a good evening...
respect travis. thank you for your serivce and the sacrifices you continue to make every day. you are an inspiriation.
Well done, a puppy and two grown men just walking and talking about airplanes. I'm sure Manfred and Yeager would be pleased. Keep posting, bitte!!
What a generous and thoughtful way to thank a Warrior Kermit. I had the honor of knowing many like Travis in the 'Nickle' group and others and they were always the same type of man I wanted to be.
Again, thank you Kermit n Friends for showing Travis and Barrin a good time at FoF...and Thanks Travis for the shout-out to those of us who were the Busdrivers to the Stars.

-Brad
Nice one ... good peoples both
13:34
You didn't even need to say his name and I knew exactly who you were referring to.
He would be very humbled to know you chose his story to inspire others. Especially on the other side of the Pond.
Nice one,Kermit. Well played.
wow...TRAVIS IS A VERY FINE MAN....Thanks Kermit...!
I think you've inspired Travis to take up flying! If anyone has ever earned the right to experience the freedom of flight and 'dance on laughter silvered wings', it is Travis. I'm sure that he'll make an excellent pilot too.
Great story, Your were right about the bicycle. Travis was trying to motcho his way.
Cheers to you both. Thanks for sharing some amazing experiences. The bike challenge was awesome, and the planes were epic. Keep up the good stuff!
Thank you Travis and Kermit. Well done.
That was awesome ! Thank you for exposing Travis to Fantasy of Flight .
Okay. This is completely wonderful.
Excellent video!👍 Very heartwarming.
Nice Job Kermit! I think you really have a good vision on where you are taking FOF. I like your style man!
Mr. Kermit, I think you have helped Beret focus on the future and helped him find a way to fight his demons. Great video.....and an amazing young man, Thanks for the video.......:-)
That’s so awesome that you are able to share in such a way as you do,and your future plans will be on a whole different level.Good on you man.
Thanks for sharing Keep the stories coming Yf.....
This is a amazing video fantastic collection of planes & Travis is a great person doing amazing things.
Thank you
After watching 100 hours? Whatever it is, alot, of your videos and really look forward to visiting FOF someday soon and say thank you to Kermit in person for spending such a fortune on preserving history at a minimum. Thank you
Excellent video Kermit. You're quite a philosophical guy with a good sense reading a person's character. You're vision of what you want Fantasy of Flight to become is clear and will be very interesting to see how you will bring it all together. Love your videos and your collection of aircraft. Well done.
Great work Kermit! I think what you did for Travis , was a beautiful soul defining experience! Keep going on this journey, I think this is so important for everybody to understand their limitations and challenge our thinking.
I very much enjoyed this video. The bicycle part was very interesting for me as I am a fixed wing pilot and I taught myself to fly a helicopter. The relearn part was mentally exhausting, but very empowering. I remember a story I was told about some early french aircraft, I believe Bleriot which had the rudder peddles reversed. (You would I’m sure know the history behind this.) Once you have learned a certain way, the relearn takes a lot of practice.
Again thank you very much for your videos, and we will be going to FoF as soon as sone as people are allowed.

Outstanding!! Good on you Kermit!!!
As a retired aviation Vet, Navy, and Army, I'm somewhat jealous of his flight in the P- 40. I'm really glad he got to fly with you! Kudos!!!
Kermit love your videos....you are like the Dr Phil of the aeronautical world ;-)
Travis, a sincere thank you for all you have done. As an aside, I have a handsome, strong, intelligent German Shepherd by the name of Augie who would love to meet your girl. ;-) Kermit, you're a class act in every sense. I visited FofF in the mid to later nineties and when you reopen I'll be there in a hurry! God bless you both.
Semper Fi!
Thank you so much for posting this!! You both do amazing work!
It's like training yourself to counter steer on a motorcycle, instead of fighting the weight of the machine. On a motorcycle you are countering the gyroscopic effects of the wheels and crank shaft at elevated speeds to throw the center of gravity off.
Kermit for what it's worth from a stranger, your good man doing great things not just for yourself but probably more importantly for others. Your reminding people the joy there is in life and to grab opportunity because that is part of the journey, your building a legacy to remember those that have been challenged, endured and sacrificed for us all to have the freedoms to make our very own choices.
God bless you sir.👏
K.rgds Kevin UK.
P.s Poor Travis on that bike no wonder he can't walk properly now ooch
(Amazing man.. Thanks for all you have done for your country.

Invisable onions

I saw a Lamb of God. A Warrior for Christ. A real man. Both Travis and Kermit.
👍👍 Great life lessons !
what a treat
Classy. This whole thing is right up there with the best things that I have seen all year. Hats off.
If you see or talk to him think him for his service.
Ft Campbell is in KY!
lt is in Kentucky & Tennessee...!
PRETTY COOL!!
Reflects my dreams,,,,,a life wasted. ....
The first jobs I applied for @ 18 yo were as a pilot , in the UK... Royal Navy and RAF. Accepted to the RAF, but being of Irish descent my family stopped my dream. Religion and bias / Politics as Irish vs English politics in the 70s.
I became a Mining then a Petroleum Engineer, provided for my family , we have done well.
I had one chance at life as a aviator, able but stopped through Religion/Bias.
Aviation then became just a hobby, then a passion : I love this post and Kermit. I wish I had ignored my parents and been a career Aviator
Awesome.
Keep it up, guys.
Nice job!
24:53 - The 1st AVG (Flying Tigers) divided into their three squadrons and deployed in November of '41, but only flew their first combat mission on 20 December 1941, almost two weeks AFTER the US entered the war.
wonderfull
Just watching 633 squadron! Come on Kermit let's get the Mossy back in the air. Also did you ever end up getting a Bristol Beaufighter?
Fighting soldiers from the sky
Fearless men who jump and die
Men who mean just what they say
The brave men of the Green Beret
Silver wings upon their chest
These are men, America's best
One hundred men will test today
But only three win the Green Beret
Trained to live off nature's land
Trained in combat, hand-to-hand
Men who fight by night and day
Courage peak from the Green Berets
Silver wings upon their chest
These are men, America's best
One hundred men will test today
But only three win the Green Beret
Back at home a young wife waits
Her Green Beret has met his fate
He has died for those oppressed
Leaving her his last request
Put silver wings on my son's chest
Make him one of America's best
He'll be a man they'll test one day
Have him win the Green Beret.
Silver wings upon their chest
These are men, America's best
One hundred men will test today
But only three win the Green Beret, Staff Sergeant Barry Sadler.
It was an honor to meet you and shake your hand back in 2010 Kermit (I know you don’t remember that because you have met thousands of people at FoF).
What ever happened? I heard yall were moving into a new phase in Orlampa, but never heard of you reopened or not?? I moved to OK in 2012, but I would love to bring my kids someday
Still working on the design for Act III. It will come when it’s ready.
@@KermitWeeks444 that’s awesome. I had thought you all closed down several years ago to the public. Was I misinformed? Regardless, can’t wait to see what’s waiting for us with Act III!
Ahhhh isn’t Ft Campbell in Kentucky!? Not Tennessee!
Kermit is built like a racehorse lolz, I'm talking G force fit ,bet he can still avoid G-Loc better than most 😎
? Kermit, can you ride a bike with normal steering? Is your brain now wired for opposite steering only, or can you now steer both ways?
🙏🦅🦅👍👍👍
Cross your arms when riding the reverse bike or driving a reverse steering vehicle.
And I cross my arms and slowly shake my head at your comment. That's the physical way around the 'problem', yes it will work.
Kermit is challenging the mental side of the brain that says 'this can not be done'. That is the natural 'trigger' that he has set, as a challenge to us, as viewers, to try and overcome.
@@David-yo5ws I do understand that fully. But you do also realize that starting off that way can help you progress onto riding it and overcoming it mentally. Some people do not have mental acuity that some of us are blessed with. Just like the fact when someone judges another person without any evidence.
@@SimonElenor Yes, I know different people need a different approach with the right person. There is a good TED talk by a neurologist who helps stroke victims. She explains how our brain has 'plasticity' but requires the right teaching approach to make it re-learn & form new links. She says the current system is ineffective. I.E it is being done wrong. So it is a specialist roll to help people recover from brain injuries and trauma. It was certainly a bit of fun watching Kermit's 'challenge'.
@@David-yo5ws I agree completely. I work with Veterans. Sometimes a hammer and chisel is needed to start the brain processing.
Civilians look up to Enlisted Army Soldiers, who look up to Rangers, who look up to the Green Berets, who look up to God, who looks up to Dudes like Travis Hall. Thanks for being a BadAss for All of Us here in the States, Hall.
Vietnam Veterand don't count or fit your Museum.
